Coolie Movie Update: Filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj and music composer Anirudh Ravichander recently shared a candid moment ahead of Coolie release on August 14, and fans can't get enough of it. In the picture doing the rounds online, the duo is seen in a lighthearted 'bro moment', while a photograph of superstar Rajinikanth looms large in the background, adding instant star power to the frame.
Lokesh Kanagaraj and Coolie music director Anirudh Ravichander's photo has quickly become a talking point among fans, who are excited to see the dynamic director-composer pairing up for the fourth time, after having previously worked together in Vikram and Leo. Anirudh, who has composed the music for Coolie, is expected to bring his signature energy and mass appeal to the project.
The heartwarming social media exchange began when Anirudh traced back to the first time he collaborated with Lokesh, and that too, for a Rajinikanth film. The following image is from their recent work in Coolie, with Thalaiva watching over them in the backdrop. 'Where we started Where we are Love you @Dir_Lokesh," wrote the Jawan composer. The filmmaker, too, at once reponded, saying, 'From where we started our journey together, here we are with collaborating for the fourth time and every time it's been a blast!! Love you my brother from another mother My Rockstar @anirudhofficial Let's rock." The excitement was palpable both on their X posts and photos. Take a look:

Coolie advance bookings
Rajinikanth's Coolie is witnessing a massive rush in international ticket bookings as a part of its early sales. The stakes are bigger than that of War 2 in India too. In the country, where bookings opened in phases on Friday, the film has already pulled in Rs 14 crore in advance sales, with Rs 10 crore locked for opening day alone. The Tamil version dominates with nearly Rs 10 crore, while the Telugu and Kannada versions have made a solid start. The Hindi version lags for now but is expected to pick up momentum as release day approaches.
Internationally, Coolie is smashing records. In North America, premiere advance bookings have touched USD 1.7 million (about Rs 14 crore), of which USD 1.45 million comes from the USA alone, with over 56,000 tickets sold. This feat surpasses the premiere earnings of Lokesh Kanagaraj's Leo, which had grossed USD 1.3 million in the USA on its debut day. The film's total overseas advance now stands at Rs 41 crore, already more than the lifetime foreign earnings of Kamal Haasan's Thug Life.
Coolie marks yet another high-octane outing for Lokesh Kanagaraj, who is known for his action films and interconnected cinematic universe. With Anirudh's music and Lokesh's vision, expectations for the film are sky-high.
