Why I Both Cook With This Olive Oil and Keep It in My Shower
I'm kind of a lazy person. I'm also always looking for new ways in which I can afford to be lazier, in the sense that I'm curious about how my daily routines can be simplified; I want to know which unitasker tools or items can expand in their functionality, and how I, especially as a shopping writer, can machete chop my way through layers of product marketing ploys to find all the stuff that deserves a permanent place on my shelf.
That is why I cook with this olive oil — and I also use it in the shower.
Yep, that's right; one bottle lives on my kitchen counter, and another next to my conditioner. The jump from frying pan to body moisturizer started several years ago, after an appointment with a talented facialist-masseuse left my legs feeling deeply hydrated. As someone who has always struggled with dry skin, it felt like the heavens parted when the specialist told me that she simply used regular old olive oil (she swore by Trader Joe's and Pompeian's EVOOs, specifically, for their quality and affordability) to massage my legs at the end of the spa day package. When I texted this to my friends with all the fervor of a 1920s paperboy, some responded with skepticism, but quite a few said some version of yes, duh, welcome to the club.

For as long as olive oil has been around, people have been using it on their skin. The ancient Greeks considered it liquid gold, dousing it on their Olympians who, in turn, also competed for coveted storage pots of the stuff. Dermatologists also recommend it; Amy Kassouf tells the Cleveland Clinic that that it 'can be a great moisturizer for people with dry or sensitive skin,' which is probably why slathering a tablespoon of the stuff on my body after a shower has been working out so well for me over the years. There even have been promising studies about how the application of olive oil can help minor cuts and scrapes heal faster.
If I was a spoiled and delulu noble in the court of Versailles, I might insist on using the 18th-century equivalent of Flamingo Estate's $82 olive oil as a body moisturizer. But one of the best things about my Pompeian olive oil fealty is that it checks off both my need for a great, affordable cooking olive oil and a body moisturizer.
When I'm home, I'll usually divide a bottle into two vessels, funneling half into a plastic squeeze tip bottle to take in the shower. But it's nice to know that when I'm traveling, I can almost always find a bottle of the stuff at every echelon of grocery store.
I have sung the praises of Pompeian before for another reasons: its unbothered aesthetics. In a marketing landscape of increasingly millennial-marketed blob art-maxxed branding, Pompeian feels refreshingly, unassumingly 90s-retro in its graphic design. One of my go-to lucid dream spaces echoes the landscape of golden, rolling hills and cypress trees depicted on the label of its dark green bottles. And when I add its Light Taste EVOO to my cart, I relax my shoulders a bit knowing that this is not an over-hyped bottle of influencer snake oil that will jump to make incongruous collaborations with hair care brands or footwear companies (granted, the Chocos x Waffle House sandals are kind of cool). This is the kind of olive oil beloved by my Midwestern aunties who still use Hotmail. It is an amphora of sincerity, which makes it even more enticing.
I'm not going to linger on my EVOO soapbox for much longer, especially as someone who is not a certified derm, but if you are someone whose skin veers on the dry side and doesn't want to spend $85 on body oil, this can be a pretty sweet hack, whether you're concerned with drizzling it over burrata or your bum.

Travis Kelce is about that swamp life. See him go full Florida Man in Miami
Travis Kelce is in full Florida Man mode in the latest issue of GQ magazine, and we are so here for it. Fans used to seeing the Kansas City Chiefs star all suited up for football games or a night out with gf Taylor Swift may do a double take at the (literally) wild spread. In the wide ranging article called 'America's Sweetheart,' the tight end was shot in his temporary home of South Florida, where he trained in the off season. GQ really went for it, taking their cover star out to the middle of the swamp. In one picture, Kelce's seen decked out in fur, looking like a dapper trapper extraordinaire, riding an airboat. In other shots, he gets up close and personal with such Everglades residents as an alligator (cradled in his arms) and a python (wrapped around his neck). Other more tame locations for the shoot included Marine Stadium Marina on Virginia Key, where Kelce tried out flyboarding, shooting into the air over Biscayne Bay all while wearing a jacket by Burberry, the mag notes. Perhaps all the sunshine and water (and reptiles) loosened Kelce up. He really opened up to writer Sean Manning, answering a few burning questions about his famous galpal of two years. It's apparently a mutual admiration society kind of situation. 'I get to be the plus one,' the three-time Super Bowl champ said of the pop star. 'I get to go and be that fan. Because I am a fan.' The baller's also pleased to see Swift show interest in his sports career and loves seeing her root him on from the VIP box. 'It's so cool that I get to experience her being that plus one for me on the football field…. I feel that same enjoyment every time she comes to my shows.' Kelce think he knows the reason they just work. Though in totally different fields, the 35 year olds have more in common than you'd think. 'I hadn't experienced somebody in the same shoes as me, having a partner who understands the scrutiny, understands the ups and downs of being in front of millions,' the 'New Heights' podcaster said. 'That was very relatable, seeing how exhausted she would get after shows. She may not think of herself as an athlete. She will never tell anyone that she is an athlete. But I've seen what she goes through. I've seen the amount of work that she puts on her body, and it's mind-blowing.' As for the paparazzi that follow their every move? Behind closed doors, these two lovebirds are just like any other couple (really). 'Whenever I'm with her, it feels like we're just regular people,' the NFL vet said. 'When there is not a camera on us, we're just two people that are in love. It can be perceived as something else because of how much it is talked about and how much we are tracked whenever we do go out, but [it] still happened very organically.' Sorry, folks. After reading through the entire piece, we are still in the dark if a proposal is in the works. But it sounds as if things are copacetic right now, at least for Kelce: 'I love being the happiest guy in the world all the f--ing time.'

3 Perfume Tips We Learned From Travis Kelce, An Unexpected Fragrance Fanatic
"Hearst Magazines and Yahoo may earn commission or revenue on some items through these links." Travis Kelce looks like someone who'd smell good, right? There's a suave, cool factor about him that exudes a vibe that he rocks a hot cologne, ya know. Maybe it's that he's really into his style and always looks pretty good (mustache included). Or it's his loud personality, on and off the field. Honestly, I can't imagine anyone spending that much time with Taylor Swift could smell anything less than fantastic. But I don't actually have to guess anymore, since Travis broke down his go-to perfumes and a love story (pun intended) for cologne in a video with GQ. "Gotta have the cologne," Travis says, outlining his essentials. He loves spritzing and trying new scents in "smell good stores," as he calls 'em. "It's all trial and error; it's whatever you feel like," he adds. "Who doesn't love smelling good?" Travis continues. And I couldn't agree more. But even if you can't afford Trav's $$$$ picks (four dollar signs is intentional here—his favorite cologne, Ex Nihilo Blue Talisman, clocks in at $245 for a 1.7 oz bottle), you can glean quite a bit of fragrance wisdom from the three-time Super Bowl winner. He's full of surprises! 1. Curate a wardrobe (and layer them) "You gotta have more than just one, ladies and gentleman," says Travis. He's got three favorite colognes and believes you've gotta have variety. And I couldn't agree more, as a fragrance-obsessed beauty editor. Having a collection of different scents that work with your distinct moods, occasions, and seasons helps you feel more put-together, just by spritzing on a perfume. "Obviously, there are certain smells that just match the fit perfectly, whether it's a dinner night or you're going out with your friends or just going to work," he Talisman Eau de Parfum Key notes: Pear, bergamot, ginger, orange blossom, musk, cedar $355.00 at Key notes: Lychee, bergamot, ginger, peony, rose, cacao, patchouli $350.00 at louisvuittonLV Lovers Key notes: Bergamot, galbanum, ginger, solar notes, sandalwood, cedarwood $350.00 at louisvuitton And Travis is a fan of perfume layering too. "Sometimes you can mix and match if they smell good together," he says. It makes sense: His three faves all share a few notes in common (Travis loves ginger, bergamot, and woods, evidently), so they flow easily with each other if you layer one with the other. 2. Don't limit yourself by gender Fragrance is for everyone, and the idea of "perfumes for women" and "colognes for men" is seriously outdated. Even Travis agrees! One of his go-to Louis Vuitton scents, Attrape-Rêves (which he wholesomely couldn't pronounce because he "failed French freshman year"), is actually marketed as a "woman's scent." But I totally see why Travis loves it. It's a floral perfume that's grounded by earthy patchouli and warm cacao, but opens with bright lychee, bergamot, and ginger. I get it: He likes unique takes on woody, warm scents (especially if they've got ginger in there). With that in mind, I bet he'd love Taylor Swift Wonderstruck... 3. Keep them protected from the sun IDK if Travis just loves his Louis Vuitton heritage print or if he's actually a serious fraghead. But there's more than just a cute reason behind his Louis cases. Actually, these are fantastic for protecting your perfumes. Listen, the juice in your bottles is fragile, and too much heat or sun exposure can change the scent. Not something you want when you're spending a whole lotta money. If you keep your perfumes on a tray on your vanity, consider a case. Louis Vuitton's are stunning for their specific scents if you also have the budget of a champion. Personally, I like to keep my precious scents in a leather vanity case, and I've moved many of my others away from the window. Travis Kelce Wears Fur, an Alligator and an Oversized Birkin Bag in Steamy Florida Swamp Photo Shoot
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end spent 12 hours posing in Florida's Everglades, where he posed in several fashion-forward outfits for his new "GQ" cover shootNEED TO KNOW Travis Kelce showed off his wild side while posing in the Florida wetlands for his recently-published GQ cover shoot The Kansas City Chiefs tight end sported fashion-forward looks in the Everglades, holding wild animals and engaging in water sports for the photos Kelce opened up about his upcoming NFL season, retirement plans and his girlfriend Taylor Swift in the profileBRB, looking for an alligator accessory to add to our fall wardrobe! The fashion statement is inspired by none other than Travis Kelce, who posed with the reptile — among other animals — for a wild, fashion-forward photo shoot for his GQ cover story published on Tuesday, Aug. 12. Shot in Florida's Everglades, the 35-year-old Kansas City Chiefs star — who opened up about his upcoming NFL season, retirement plans and his girlfriend Taylor Swift in the profile — posed in a number of looks styled by Law Roach and photographed by Ryan McGinley. The digital story was topped with a photo of Kelce cradling an alligator in yellow Carhartt gloves, while standing in the middle of a swamp wearing nothing but waders by LaCrosse Footwear and a massive fur hat by Etro. He accessorized with a Hublot watch. In another shot, Kelce sat in a red boat — and looked surprised at what he spotted in the Florida waters. The athlete put his chest on full display, wearing a fur coat by Dolce & Gabbana, paired with coordinating brown pants by Lu'u Dan. He completed the look with boots, a hat by Gardenheir and Gucci sunglasses, while an Alex Moss necklace dripped down his neck. In a third photo, the three-time Super Bowl champion took the shoot to dry land. He rocked an edgier getup, too, standing casually on tree roots in a forest surrounded by luscious greenery. Showing off his fit physique, Kelce posed in an unbuttoned leather Balenciaga jacket with Western flare, complete with fringe that hung off the shoulders and sleeves of the black garment. He also wore white pants by Willy Chavarria and a black Artemas Quibble belt. In a fourth shot, Kelce returned to the swamp, but this time, he swapped the gator in hand for Roach's massive light brown Hermès Birkin bag instead. He also sported the waders by LaCrosse Footwear and the Etro hat for the photo. The NFL star did pick up another animal for the shoot: a snake. In a fifth shot, Kelce stood amid the famed wetlands with the oversized reptile draped over his arms. Despite the intense pose, he kept his look simple — posing in a classic white tank top by Dolce & Gabbana and jeans by Adam Small. The shoot took 12 hours in total, which included trudging through swamps and riding airboats as pictured throughout the cover story. Elsewhere during the shoot, Kelce made his way to a larger body of water — and fully submerged himself for the photos. In one of the pictures, he popped his head out of the water wearing nothing but a cowboy hat. In another water-based shot, he sported a neon yellow vest by CAT Workwear and his own chain. The stylized photos accompanied Kelce's tell-all interview with GQ, which covered everything from his preparations for his 13th NFL season with the Kansas City Chiefs to his love life with girlfriend Swift, 35.
