Anirudh Ravichander also gave fans a sneak peek into the unique aspects behind some of the songs in the Coolie album.
With just a few days left for the release of Coolie, the buzz around the Rajinikanth starrer continues to build. As part of the film's promotional campaign, composer Anirudh Ravichander recently sat down for an interview with the production house of the film. During the interaction, he candidly discussed the creative process behind the film's music and even revealed how artificial intelligence helped him to compose a song for the upcoming film.
In a recent interview with Sun Pictures, the composer was asked how he deals with a moment of creative block. Speaking honestly about the pressures of composing music, Anirudh shared a quirky anecdote about using AI to get through a recent mental block.
'Two days ago, when I had a creative block, I just opened ChatGPT and fed it the information about my song. I asked the AI, 'This is the song. I am stuck while trying to compose the last two lines. What do I do, man?' I swear, I am being honest," he said.

To get uninterrupted assistance, he shared that he even subscribed to the premium version of the tool. With a laugh, he revealed, 'I also subscribed to the premium version of the AI so that it doesn't stop giving me the best results midway. With the prompt, the AI gave me ten lines. From there, I saw one line, an idea emerged, and I cracked the rest of the song. All creators face a block, but today, it is easier to get over such a block. I feel it is better to let it be rather than overthink about being stuck."
Unique Aspects Behind Coolie's Tracks
In the same conversation, Anirudh also gave fans a sneak peek into the unique aspects behind some of the songs in the Coolie album.
He shared, 'When we started 'Chikitu Vibe,' I started with a tuned version of T Rajendhar Sir's beats. That was the basic idea for the entire song. When they told me Soubin would dance for Monica alongside a young Pooja Hegde, I wanted to include a few comedy tracks, and that's how 'Lakalakalaka' from Chandramukhi's 'Raa Raa' got included in that track."
The 2-hour 48-minute movie features a total of eight songs. It includes Coolie Disco, Chikitu, Uyirnaadi Nanbane, I am the Danger, Monica, Kokki, Powerhouse and Mobsta.
Coolie's Star-Studded Line-Up
Penned by Chandhru Anbazhagan and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, Coolie boasts a powerhouse ensemble cast featuring Rajinikanth, Nagarjuna Akkineni, Soubin Shahir, Shruti Haasan, Upendra and Sathyaraj in key roles. The film also includes cameo appearances by Aamir Khan and Pooja Hegde.
Slated for a grand theatrical release on August 14, Coolie promises a blend of high-octane action, mass entertainment, and a thumping soundtrack to match. It follows the story of an ageing gold smuggler, Deva (Rajinikanth), who uses antique gold watches to reclaim his former criminal empire. But Deva's plan leads to the formation of a new criminal enterprise, with greed, crime, and time manipulation.
Talking about the technical team, Girish Gangadharan took charge of the cinematography. Philomin Raj did the editing work, and Anirudh collaborated with filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj for the fourth time to compose the music for the film.
