BBC drops Ozzy Osbourne documentary from schedule with new date to be announced
A BBC spokesperson said: 'The film has moved in the schedules and we'll confirm new TX (transmission) details in due course.'
The hour-long documentary will show the late Black Sabbath front man reuniting with the band on stage as part of The Back To The Beginning farewell concert in Birmingham, which he died just weeks after aged 76 on July 22 from a reported heart attack.
The film was originally conceived as a series, announced in 2022 and called Home To Roost, and was to document Osbourne and his wife Sharon's move back from the US, where they had lived for more than two decades, to rural Buckinghamshire.
But the project 'evolved as Ozzy's health deteriorated' into the one-hour film, the BBC said.
The BBC says the documentary sees the story of the concert told through 'unique and intimate access to the whole Osbourne family', including Sharon, and their children Kelly and Jack.
It was filmed over three years and 'captures the extraordinary rollercoaster of their lives' as the famous couple 'attempt to complete their long-held dream of moving back to the UK', the BBC has said.
Ozzy Osbourne: Coming Home also captures the musician as he 'heroically battles to get fit enough to perform' and the family dealing with 'the dramatic consequences of his ill health', with Kelly quoted as saying in the film: 'Iron Man wasn't really made of iron.'
The rocker had been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 2019.
Last month, fans gathered alongside Osbourne's family to pay tribute to the star as a funeral cortege travelled through Birmingham.
Sharon and the couple's children could be seen wiping away tears when they arrived at the Black Sabbath bench, where thousands of tributes, balloons and flowers were left.
Musicians from Bostin Brass played Black Sabbath songs to accompany the cortege, and fans threw flowers at the hearse as it passed slowly through the city.

I'm praying that nothing has come out or come loose or that nothing is torn or damaged." Tommy was rushed to the doctor and told the cameras that all he could to was 'ask God to be there' with him throughout, and kept hoping that everything would turn out all right in the end. He decided to wait for the results of an MRI scan and 'refused to get into the headspace' of thinking that it was all over for him. In a moment of reflection, he said: "I won the fight but hopefully I ain't lost the war." As the episode wrapped, Tommy went shopping to welcome Molly and their two-year-old daughter Bambi back home. He said: "At the end of the day, my sole purpose was to get Molly and Bambi back here, back under one roof, back like before. I've had to sortmyself out and put my a*** in gear. They've stuck by me through thick and thin, and I'm so grateful for it." Asked how he felt about the future, he said: "To lose Molly and Bambi again, that's the biggest fear for me. Without training in my life, everything will fall down again. "It's like Jenga, so I guess we will just have to wait and see."

Scottish TV star pictured filming BBC series in Glasgow park
Greg McHugh, known for his roles in Gary: Tank Commander and Guilt, was pictured at Maxwell Park today, on set. The 45-year-old is shooting the second series of the BBC show Only Child, which is a comedy sitcom also starring Gregor Fisher. It follows Richard Pritchard, an actor who returns from London to visit his recently widowed father, Ken, in his family home in Forres, Moray. In the images, taken by Glasgow Times photographer Gordon Terris, the actor can be seen shooting scenes of what appears to be an organised run. MISSING MOLLY But The Sun understands that Molly skipped the event as she was keen to not "overshadow" the launch of Tommy's programme and let him have his own time in the spotlight following their up and down 12 months. A source told The Sun: "Molly is keen to keep a low profile at the moment. "She is obviously back with Tommy but it's his night and doesn't want to overshadow it. "It's been a funny time for Molly - she's very thick skinned but she's had a lot to deal with and isn't used to backlash." In the show, he made the shock revelation that he was downing "20 shots a night" and drinking to get "blackout drunk" ahead of their split last year. He said: "The reason for our ending the relationship was alcohol." He added: "I couldn't train, box, lift weights, that was all gone. "My right hand was messed up, I was in dire pain, it's just what happens over years of impact on the hand. "I had lost my entire identity, lost my life."
