Egypt: Minister of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation Arrives in Washington to Participate in the 2025 Spring Meetings of the World Bank (WB) Group and the International Monetary Fund (IMF)
The meetings are attended by central bank governors, finance and development ministers, parliamentarians, senior private sector officials, civil society representatives, and academics to discuss issues of global concern, including global economic prospects, poverty reduction, driving economic development, and the effectiveness of development cooperation.
H.E. Dr. Rania Al-Mashat is scheduled to participate in several high-level meetings and events, including the Intergovernmental G24 on International Monetary Affairs and Development, the Development Committee meetings, and the African Governors Constituency meeting at the World Bank Group.
H.E. Minister Al-Mashat will also participate in a number of events organized by the World Economic Forum (WEF), in light of the Forum's close relationship with the Egyptian government.
Egypt has announced its support for contributing to the 21st replenishment of the International Development Association (IDA), a World Bank Group institution and one of the largest institutions working to combat extreme poverty in the lowest-income countries. The WB Group is conducting ongoing discussions with contributing countries and relevant stakeholders to complete this process.
In addition, the Minister of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation will hold intensive bilateral meetings with the senior management of the WB Group to follow up on the ongoing partnership portfolio and efforts to drive growth, employment, and achieve sustainable economic development.
H.E. Minister Al-Mashat will also hold meetings with representatives of governments and multilateral and bilateral development partners, and participate in high-level events to discuss current global economic challenges and the future of development in developing countries and emerging economies.
The current meetings are taking place at an exceptional time in terms of global economic developments, amid U.S. tariffs on many trading partners and their impact on growth and inflation in various countries around the world, as well as the impact of geopolitical tensions in many regions of the world on the economic situation.
The annual meetings include meetings of the Development Committee, the International Monetary and Financial Committee, the G24, the G20, and other meetings.

The operation now continues, providing food supplies to the community. According to the video, the UAE has launched food kitchens in the north and south of the Gaza strip on June 30. Stirring huge pots of rice and lentils, and baking bread in traditional ovens on the ground, aid workers tirelessly ensuring the people of Gaza are cared for and fed. They also personally deliver food to the sick and injured in hospitals. These facilities prepare around 60,000 meals daily. Since July 10, bakeries have been open and running as well, to fulfill the needs of the population. There have also been air drops of water and medicines, bring essentials — and hope — to the people. Israel's air and ground war in densely populated Gaza has since killed more than 60,000 Palestinians, according to enclave health officials, reported Reuters. From then until March 31 this year, the UAE has marked 500 days of continuous humanitarian relief. The nation has provided the war-torn area with over 65,000 tonnes of food, medical, and relief aid — valued at more than US$1.2 billion — through land, sea, and air routes.

Bangladesh: The US Deep State's newest victim

These allegations -later proven false – enabled the toppling of Iraq's leadership, replacing it with an externally controlled regime of opportunists and mercenaries. Iraq's sovereignty was dismantled, and its oil wealth looted under the watch of the US Deep State. This was not a one-off. It was the first act of a brutal geopolitical blueprint—a regime-change model later repeated in Libya, Egypt, Tunisia, and Syria. Western media branded these interventions as part of an 'Arab Spring,' masking the real intent: destabilization, economic exploitation, and the installation of puppet governments loyal to foreign interests. ADVERTISEMENT Egypt's '25 January Revolution' in 2011 was sold as a popular uprising, yet it was driven by Western-backed networks. Mubarak's ouster led not to stability but to chaos, with the Muslim Brotherhood's Mohamed Morsi – another foreign-backed figure—briefly in power before being overthrown. In Libya, NATO's 2011 intervention ended with the gruesome killing of Muammar Gaddafi. The once-prosperous nation descended into lawlessness, its oil and gas reserves falling into the hands of foreign corporations. Now, in 2024, Bangladesh has been added to the list of nations reshaped by the US Deep State's regime-change machinery. On August 5, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina – whose leadership had brought consistent economic growth and stability – was ousted in what bears all the hallmarks of an externally orchestrated coup. Behind the scenes, Pakistan's Inter-Service Intelligence (ISI) acted as the operational partner, while Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus emerged as the public face of the so-called 'interim regime.' Just like in Iraq and Libya, the new administration is populated by figures whose loyalties lie not with Bangladesh but with foreign benefactors. Credible sources suggest that the Deep State has also been working to undermine Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's nationalist government, with Indian National Congress leader Rahul Gandhi courting foreign support. Reports indicate that between 2022 and 2024, Gandhi held discreet meetings in the US with regime-change architects such as Victoria Nuland and George Soros – figures notorious for meddling in sovereign nations' politics. For Washington's strategists, a weakened or compliant Bangladesh and India would serve as powerful levers in reshaping South Asian geopolitics. Since Sheikh Hasina's removal, Bangladesh's economy has spiraled downward. Inflation has surged, GDP growth has stalled, and foreign investors are fleeing. Mob violence has become common – over 200 people, many of them Hindus or Awami League supporters, have been lynched. More ominously, extremist groups like Al Qaeda, ISIS, Hamas, and Hizb ut-Tahrir are reactivating their cells. ISI is reportedly overseeing guerrilla and commando training for over 1.6 million Rohingya refugees and nearly a million Bihari 'Stranded Pakistanis', with the aim of exporting terrorism to India, Myanmar, and potentially Southeast Asia and the Middle East. If these groups succeed, the consequences will ripple far beyond Bangladesh's borders. Targeting the Armed Forces A particularly alarming development is the interim regime's campaign to weaken the Directorate General of Forces Intelligence (DGFI) – Bangladesh's premier counterterrorism agency. Former DGFI chiefs are now facing politically motivated charges of 'crimes against humanity'. This move appears designed to dismantle the very institution that has been most effective at containing terrorist threats. Once neutralized, Islamist militants could infiltrate the military, creating conditions for attacks on the scale of 9/11 or the 2008 Mumbai massacre. Bangladesh's descent into instability is not just a national tragedy – it is a looming global security crisis. A failed Bangladesh, teeming with jihadist networks, would be a launchpad for terrorism across South Asia, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East. The Deep State's strategy is consistent: destabilize, install loyal proxies, exploit resources, and leave the population in perpetual crisis. Zain Group posts $3.5bln revenue for H1, net profit up 49%
Zain Group, a leading provider of innovative ICT and digital lifestyle communications, operating in eight markets across the Middle East and Africa, has reported exceptional performance for the first half with its revenue soaring to hit KD1.1 billion ($3.5 billion), up 14% over last year, while its net profit surged 49% to hit KD121 million ($395 million). Announcing its consolidated financial results for the six-month period ended June 30, 2025, Zain said the net profit for H1 includes one-time gain of KD15 million ($50 million) on settlement of legal dispute involving INWI, of which Zain Group is a 15.5% shareholder (via Zain Al Ajial). The group's H1 2025 earnings per share stood at 28 fils ($0.09), while its ebitda grew 10% YoY to reach KD356 million ($1.2 billion), reflecting a 33% margin. The leading telecom group said it had served 50.9 million customers at the end of H1, a 7% increase Year-on-Year (YOY), driven by network restoration in Sudan and expansion in Iraq. The data revenue grew 8% YoY to reach $1.3 billion, representing 37% of total group revenue. On the Q2 results, Zain Group said its revenue grew 13% to reach KD541 million ($1.8 billion) compared to Q2 2024. Ebitda hit KD186 million ($606 million), reflecting a healthy ebitda margin of 34%. Net income soared 40% to reach KD73 million ($237 million), reflecting earnings per share of 17 fils ($0.05), it stated. Commenting on solid results, Group Chairman Osamah Al Furaih said: "Our strong performance underscores the productive alliance between the Board and executive management teams of all our entities in delivering our '4WARD—Progress with Purpose' strategy. Our focus on acceleration, collaboration, and digital innovation, alongside our ESG commitments, is having comprehensive impact on sustainable value creation for all stakeholders." "Moreover, constructive relationships with regulators and key stakeholders are also driving meaningful connectivity across all customer segments," he stated. "Following this H1 2025 performance and solid financial position, the Board is pleased to declare a fifth consecutive interim dividend of 10 fils per share, in line with our minimum annual dividend policy of 35 fils," he added. For the six-months period, net income stood at KD41 million ($132 million). H1' 2025 data revenue grew 2% representing 36% of total revenue. On Saudi market, Zain said its revenue for the quarter grew 4% YoY to reach $708 million, while ebitda grew 9% to reach $227 million. Net income for Q2 2025 grew 21% to $34 million. For the six-months period, net income grew 28% to reach $59 million. The operator's 5G-Advanced network boosted data revenue by 4% to represent 40% of total revenue while total active customers served stood at 8.3 million, said the MEA telco giant. The operator saw significant growth in revenue from the enterprise sector and from its 'Yaqoot' digital operator service.
