Insider Teases Major 2025 NFL Draft Trade Inside the Top 5: ‘It's Coming'
A little over 48 hours away from the 2025 NFL draft, and there still hasn't been a major recent trade involving a first- or second-round pick.
While there has been speculation that several teams in the top 10—the Cleveland Browns, New York Giants, New England Patriots, Chicago Bears—are either fielding calls or making their own to inquire about trading out of their picks, no deals have materialized to the point of trade parameters being leaked by an insider yet.

However, NFL Network's Brian Baldinger dropped quite the bombshell in a 39-second video posted to his X account, in which he let fans know that he's heard a blockbuster trade that will impact the first few picks is in the works.

'I get these premonitions when we get close to the draft,' Baldinger stated. 'We're basically 48 hours away, I'm just telling you, I feel a blockbuster trade coming in the top five. I kind of know what might happen; I'm just letting you know — this is a tease.
'Like, it's coming, be ready for it. This is not going to be a boring draft. We've got a blockbuster trade coming. There's only so many great players in this draft. Like, I feel it. I might have to release it. I'm just teasing you right now.'
It's not known if Baldinger will actually leak the details of the major trade he's referring to, but one could guess it likely involved the Cleveland Browns or New York Giants.

ESPN's Peter Schrager reported Tuesday morning on 'Get Up' that both teams were fielding trade offers from teams wanting to move up for either Colorado receiver/cornerback Travis Hunter, Penn State defensive end Abdul Carter, or Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty.
'There have been phone calls made to the Browns at [No.] 2 and the Giants at [No.] 3 with the intention to move up from several different sources telling me that there are teams looking to move up in this draft to either the 2 or the 3 spot,' Schrager said.
'… Those teams are not immediately slamming down the phone. The Browns at 2, the Giants at 3 — everyone assumes…it's going to go Cam Ward, it's going to go Travis Hunter, it's going to go Abdul Carter. Not so fast. I think the 2 spot gets very interesting if the Browns are listening to a 'godfather' deal for them to trade back and someone to trade up into the top three.'

Jaxson Dart's Terrible OTAs Left Fans in Disbelief About Skipping Shedeur Sanders
Jaxson Dart's Terrible OTAs Left Fans in Disbelief About Skipping Shedeur Sanders originally appeared on Athlon Sports. As Shedeur Sanders continues to trend upwards with the Cleveland Browns, another rookie quarterback is having a hard time getting adjusted. Advertisement There weren't many teams past the Tennessee Titans who needed a QB in the 2025 NFL Draft. But one team in particular, the New York Giants, was shopping aggressively. Sanders was linked to the G-Men in the pre-draft process for several reasons. They held a top-five pick, sent all of their scouting staff to Boulder for CU's Pro Day, and had a well-documented history of courting Sanders during the 2024 season. But in the end, the Giants skipped Sanders and trading up at the end of the first round to select Ole Miss' Jaxson Dart. It was the beginning of Sanders' slide. But was that a costly mistake for Brian Daboll and his staff? With OTAs underway, Dart has yet to have a spectacular day in the Meadowlands. The former Rebels passer reportedly went 5-for-9 with two interceptions on Thursday. Related: Browns OC Sends Clear Message About Shedeur Sanders in QB Battle Many people are now questioning if the Giants made the wrong decision by not taking Sanders. Of course, these are just practices and there's nothing at real game speed. However, the pressure is on for Daboll and his staff to show progress during the upcoming season, according to sources. It's the reason why New York signed Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston in free agency. Still, there will be a point where passing of Sanders might be a regret for New York and other NFL teams. This story was originally reported by Athlon Sports on Jun 6, 2025, where it first appeared.

Where Shedeur Sanders Stands in Browns' QB Depth Chart Today
Where Shedeur Sanders Stands in Browns' QB Depth Chart Today originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Shedeur Sanders may be the fourth quarterback on the Cleveland Browns' depth chart, but he remains one of the most talked-about players in the building. As the Browns continue offseason workouts, the rookie quarterback is quickly learning that the NFL is a different world, especially when you're trying to climb from the bottom of a crowded quarterback room. Advertisement During Wednesday's OTA session, Sanders didn't take any first-team reps, according to ESPN's Daniel Oyefusi. That's not unexpected. Veterans Joe Flacco and Kenny Pickett currently headline the depth chart, while third-round pick Dillon Gabriel was drafted two rounds before Sanders and appears to be ahead of him for now. Despite the limited opportunities, Sanders made the most of his reps. Per ESPN Cleveland, he completed 9 of 14 passes in seven-on-seven and 11-on-11 drills, throwing three touchdowns and one interception. The Browns even shared a highlight of one of those scores, a sharp throw to receiver Kaden Davis that drew praise from reporters on site. Joe Reedy of the Associated Press called it 'the best throw of the day.' For most fifth-round quarterbacks, stat-tracking at OTAs would be rare. But Sanders isn't most quarterbacks. Thanks to his college pedigree, high-profile family, and the unexpected drop in the draft, every move he makes will be heavily watched. He's one of the most scrutinized fourth-string quarterbacks in recent memory. Still, his status on the roster comes with real challenges. Sanders is fighting for attention and reps, which are hard to come by when the team has three quarterbacks ahead of you. Without significant snaps in training camp or preseason games, it's difficult to make a case for meaningful regular-season action. Advertisement Offensive coordinator Tommy Rees praised Sanders' preparation and grasp of the offense but also acknowledged that he's still a rookie learning the ropes.'He's really put in a lot of work, as all those guys are,' Rees told the Associated Press. 'You can tell on the mental side, learning the system, calling it, getting into rhythm, he's put a lot of time and effort into that. When you do that, the game slows down and you can focus on completions. He's done a nice job of that as camp's progressed.' Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders, throwing at minicamp.© Jeff Lange / USA TODAY NETWORK via Imagn Images Sanders' interception on Wednesday came off a tipped ball into traffic, another sign of the growing pains that come with transitioning to the NFL. His arm strength, vision, and mobility give him long-term upside, but he'll need to show consistency to move up the depth chart. For now, the focus is on development. Sanders isn't expected to start this season, and the Browns aren't rushing his timeline. But that doesn't mean he won't be closely watched. With his talent, work ethic, and media profile, Sanders remains a compelling figure in Cleveland's offseason narrative, even as a fourth-string quarterback. Advertisement If he continues to progress, it's only a matter of time before he forces his way into the conversation.
