Kids' ‘dream holidays' revealed from zoos with every animal in the world to slides from their room into the pool
A poll of 600 6–12-year-olds and their parents revealed what youngsters are really dreaming of doing when they go travelling, with having ice cream for every meal also high on the list.

Others long for magic-themed theme parks, beaches home to every type of fish and sea creature, and visits to a museum – dedicated to their favourite fictional characters.
The study also found 98 per cent of parents let their little ones have at least some input in their holiday planning.
And 82 per cent claimed this makes their trips more fun.
The research was commissioned by Crayola, which partnered with Jet2holidays to launch a competition asking kids to draw what their dream holiday looks like.

A spokesperson said: 'We can finally see how fun it could be if you let the kids plan the whole holiday and unleash the full scope of their imaginations.
'It's also really lovely to know how much parents appreciate their little one's ideas when it comes to choosing where to go and what to do.
'If only all the magical and wonderful things kids can imagine could come true and make their trips even more unforgettable.'
The study also revealed kids' imaginations in this department definitely can't be limited to the realistic – with 51 per cent wishing for a unicorn or a dragon (45 per cent) as their mode of transport on holiday.

While others said a trip to meet dinosaurs (42 per cent) or knights (35 per cent) also wouldn't go amiss.
But with 81 per cent wishing the world was a more magical place in general, 67 per cent claimed that going on holidays does make them feel this way, even if temporarily.

It also emerged 86 per cent of children want a real say in where they go, while 88 per cent would like input into what they do on their holidays.
Although 68 per cent of parents insist their child does get a say in the activities (68 per cent), excursions (48 per cent), and destination (29 per cent) when planning a trip.

With 69 per cent prioritising what their children want to do on holiday more than themselves – 48 per cent of the average trip specifically catered to the whims of little ones.
The research, carried out via OnePoll.com, also found six in 10 in parents said their children's creativity inspires them to be more creative themselves, and 51 percent saying the same about their imagination.
While 59 percent believe everyone could benefit from seeing the world through a child's eyes.
The winner of the competition will get to see their drawing come to life and £1,000 worth of vouchers towards a holiday with the UK's largest tour operator.

I visited the European city where ‘fairytales began' with beautiful mountain parks and cheap Ryanair flights
WE all know our Disney fairytales and their happily ever afters, right? In Hanau, I learned that in their early years, Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm scoured the surrounding countryside for authentic folk tales that had been handed down over generations. But the violence in some of the stories meant that the book was not particularly well received, so the brothers had to rely on their creative skills to tone down the explicit elements. And with that, the modern day fairytale was born. But it's not this collection of stories I'm here to uncover on my four-day trip, it's the story behind the Brothers Grimm themselves. After a brief stint in Hanau, he returned to the village in the early years of his marriage to become a magistrate. While here, check out Die Holzkoeppe, a theatre that puts on regular puppet shows. The final stop on my fairytale adventure took me even further north to Kassel, where the Brothers eventually became librarians so that they could support their family while they searched for fairytales. Today, the city is home to the largest museum dedicated entirely to the Grimms. Called Grimmwelt, it has a trail of original exhibits as well as state-of-the-art installations and hands-on activities. My Travels with Melissa Hamilton: 'Sunsets in Hawaii were the most incredible thing I've ever witnessed'
Melissa Hamilton is one of Ireland's most globally celebrated ballerinas. A principal with the Royal Ballet in London, she's getting ready to bring a very special show to the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre this September. A dancer who has performed all over the world, she's also co-founded Hamilton Christie Productions alongside her husband, Michael. From Tokyo to Santorini, the Belfast native and self-confessed 'dreamer' shares the travel moments and memories she'll never forget. Favourite childhood holiday memory We usually had one summer holiday a year when we were kids growing up. One of my most poignant memories is from our visit to Orlando, specifically Walt Disney World in Florida. I was an absolute Disney fanatic. I still love the fantastical and magical essence that Disney brings; that idea of following dreams and dreams being possible. It's at the core of what Disney is. That was definitely one of my favourite memories as a kid. Singapore. Most memorable trip One of the most memorable, meaningful and big journeys was to Singapore. It was the first production of Hamilton Christie Productions at the Esplanade Theatre in March 2024. To travel there with Michael and our company, to present our first show in such an amazing venue, that stands out for so many reasons. I had visited Singapore once before and really fell in love with the culture and the people. But this time, with everything it meant and represented for our work, it was something else. Hawaii. Most surprising destination I always say the sunsets in Hawaii were the most incredible and magical things I've ever witnessed. It was like watching a performance in the sky. The transformation of colour; it was like paintings being created in real time. I'd never seen anything like it. The sheer beauty of nature can truly surprise and take your breath away. Favourite city in the world Hands down, Tokyo. Without question. I love how different it is. I feel like an absolute alien whenever I go to Tokyo, but in a good way. The food, the culture, the people — the love and respect they have for ballet is incredible. I always have a great time there. I first visited in 2008 with the Royal Ballet Company and have been lucky to return several times during my career. There's a big ballet following there. I spent my 30th birthday in Tokyo performing in the World Ballet Festival. That was quite the birthday! Most memorable food experience There's a restaurant in London called Hakkasan (above) , which is modern Cantonese. We've had so many special moments marked there. It's where Michael and I celebrated my promotion to principal with the Royal Ballet Company. We've always been in awe of what they do. The standard of food is incredibly high and consistent. It's one of those places that just never disappoints. It's become our go-to for any milestone or celebration. Melissa Hamilton and husband at the Grace in Santorini Favourite hotel The Grace Hotel in Santorini. The views over the sea and the caldera, the contrast with the whitewashed walls of the hotel and the island — it was absolutely breath-taking. It was peaceful, but humbling at the same time. Michael and I just lay there, looking out over the water. From that view, the calmness was unforgettable. Favourite thing to do while travelling I always say I love travel because it allows me to recalibrate. It gives me a moment to switch off and reconnect to myself. I actually get upset now that there's wifi on planes! I used to love being forced to shut down and disconnect from the fast-paced rhythm of my life. Travel gives me that pause. I also love the energy you get from being somewhere new. It's like a system reset. A reboot. That's what it gives me. Dubai. My bucket list trip I've had opportunities to perform in Dubai before because there's a growing ballet audience in Dubai, but I've not made it yet. My husband is very passionate about interior design and architecture; he's a co-founder and director of 1.61 London, so his interest in the city's design has definitely piqued my interest in it as well. And just the sheer scale and level of luxury… I'd love to witness that. It feels like it would be a completely different experience from anywhere else.
