Perth Now24-06-2025
Married At First Sight star Ryan Donnelly claims his one-time on-screen partner Jacqui Burfoot posted about him 'almost incessantly', but his lawyer says Mr Donnelly is open to coming to an amicable resolution after he took out an apprehended violence order (AVO) against her.
Mr Donnelly was initially coupled with Ms Burfoot on the popular Aussie TV program.
The pair shared a tumultuous on-screen relationship that Ms Burfoot ultimately chose to walk away from.

Mr Donnelly previously said outside court that Ms Burfoot had attempted to 'destroy' his life.
The matter was mentioned briefly in Campbelltown Local Court on Tuesday when it was adjourned to give Ms Burfoot time to respond.

Mr Donnelly said outside court that the matter had made his life 'very difficult'.
'I know for a fact that she continues to post about me almost incessantly and as of today's outcome, I'm very pleased with it,' Mr Donnelly said when asked about his allegations.
The matter will return to court on July 29.

Netflix raises subscription prices across all Australian plans, standard with ads, standard, and premium users

Netflix has announced another round of price hikes for Australian customers, marking its sixth increase since launching locally in 2015. All subscription tiers will see changes, hitting users as soon as September, 2025. For Aussie's already struggling with the cost-of-living crisis, the once ad-free, paid service now has paid ad-supported offerings as well as premium packages to watch shows and movies uninterrupted. Members on Netflix's two standard plans face an extra $2 every month, with 'standard with ads' moving from $7.99 to $9.99, and the ad-free Standard plan now set at $20.99 monthly. Premium subscribers are looking at the steepest jump, with a $3 rise, taking the plan from $25.99 to $28.99. The move comes after Netflix ramped up its crackdown on password sharing. In May 2023, Aussie users sharing accounts outside their household received emails stating: 'Your Netflix account is for you and the people you live with: your household.' Adding an extra member to any plan will also now cost subscribers $1 more. Subscribers have felt the pinch over the past year: before this announcement, the Premium plan cost $22.99 in May 2024. That's a 26 per cent increase for users of this top tier over 15 months. According to tech site Tom's Guide, Netflix's initial prices for Australian users were $8.99 monthly for a basic ad-free plan and $14.99 for premium access, making today's Premium option nearly double the cost. Netflix said the higher prices would allow them 'to bring you even more exciting, new entertainment', promising 'fresh, can't-miss shows and movies every week'. In other developments, Prince Harry and Meghan have extended their partnership with Netflix with a multi-year, first-look deal and more culinary adventures on the cards. Their media company Archewell began collaborating with the streaming giant in 2020 and has produced a handful of documentary content, including the popular Harry & Meghan. The Duchess of Sussex also developed a lifestyle brand, As Ever, in partnership with Netflix. The collaboration has also produced the documentary series' Polo, Heart of Invictus and Live to Lead. 'My husband and I feel inspired by our partners who work closely with us and our Archewell Productions team to create thoughtful content across genres that resonates globally, and celebrates our shared vision,' Meghan said in a statement. The couple and Netflix also announced upcoming collaborations, including a second season of With Love, Meghan, a lifestyle and cooking show starring the duchess. The show will also receive a special holiday episode in December. The show is Netflix's most-watched culinary show since its March release, according to the company. It ranked low compared to other releases in the first half of this year, with 5.3 million views, according to Netflix's semiannual report. 'Masaka Kids, A Rhythm Within,' a documentary short film that centres on a small orphanage in Uganda's Masaka region, is also set to release this year. Archewell is also in production with Netflix on a feature adaptation of Carley Fortune's novel Meet Me at the Lake. The drama 'follows a decade-spanning love story that begins with a chance encounter and a broken promise,' the statement read. 'Harry and Meghan are influential voices whose stories resonate with audiences everywhere. The response to their work speaks for itself,' Bela Bajaria, Netflix's chief content officer, said in a statement. Their extended deal with Netflix is the latest in the couple's years-long effort to develop business ventures in the United States. They had also penned a multi-year deal with Spotify in 2020 and produced a podcast, Archetypes, but cut ties with the company in 2023. The couple have been detangling their lives from the British royal family and is living in California with their two young children.

Ange Postecoglou's lavish new life after sacking as former Tottenham boss spends $8m payout in style

Don't miss out on the headlines from Football. Followed categories will be added to My News. Ange Postecoglou has turned lemons into lemonade following his brutal Tottenham sacking, living the high life in Europe, all funded by his $8m payout. The 59-year-old was unceremoniously dumped in June despite delivering Tottenham its first trophy in 17 years last month with a 1-0 win over Manchester United in the Europa League final in Bilbao. But with two years still left on his Spurs contract, the Premier League giant was forced to fork out $8 million to the Aussie as part of a severance package. And with that money, the Aussie is living lavishly while he waits for another club to inevitably come calling. Postecoglou – who also received a $4.2million bonus for winning the Europa League – has been strongly linked to a move to the MLS to manage Los Angeles FC and is also rumoured to be of interest to Al-Ahli, who won the AFC Champions League in May and play in the Saudi Pro League. However, as of now, he is out of work and safe to say he is making the most of it. A recent video emerged of Postecoglou showing the Aussie relaxing and being hand-fed steak by celebrity chef Stefanos Saratsis, better known as Salt Bae, at the exclusive eatery Sta Kala Kathoumena on the Greek isle of Paros. You can watch the video in the player above In the video, uploaded to TikTok by the celebrity chef, the football manager can be seen with a huge steak laid on the table before him. Saratsis dramatically slices the steak into ribbons before spearing a chunk onto his knife, seasoning it, and feeding it to the manager with the knife's tip. The Aussie is clearly not only enjoying himself in the clip but in the two months following his Tottenham exit. But Socceroos legend Robbie Slater believes he won't be living the lavish lifestyle for too much longer, tipping him to be sucked back into the managerial grind very soon. 'He put himself in that top echelon by being at a big club and winning a big trophy,' Slater told Code Sports. '(But) the way he plays football, I don't think a lower club in the Premier League will look at him and go 'we can take that risk.' 'He might get that opportunity in Europe, maybe Spain or France. He's gonna get a job; he will be in demand. 'He won't have a job to start next season, but as we know in football, it won't take long.' But until then, the Aussie appears to be happy with his change of pace, enjoying his money and time before the inevitable next challenge presents itself. Tony Abbott's generous act as former PM spotted directing traffic inside busy underground car park in Sydney's CBD

Former Australian prime minister Tony Abbott has been spotted directing traffic at a busy underground car park in Sydney's CBD in bizarre scenes. It's not every day Aussies witness the 67-year-old, who served as the Liberal Party leader from 2013 to 2015, off their screens and in real life. That's exactly why drivers whipped out their phones on Tuesday when Abbott guided them inside the Theatre Royal car park on King Street. Footage captured from inside cars showed the politician dressed in grey trousers, a white shirt and a blue tie as he stood on the curb and instructed perplexed Aussies around the bend of the packed parking lot. Without a speck of high vis in sight, the politician manned a boom gate that was understood to have malfunctioned. One driver could be seen softly chuckling to a passenger who recorded in the back seat as Abbott gave her a smile and the green light to drive on. The footage quickly made the rounds on social media, with bemused Aussies divided in the comments over the unusual moment. 'First time he's been useful in his life. Good on him,' one person wrote. 'How the mighty have fallen,' another person said, as a third added they guessed the former prime minister had likely 'screwed that up too.' "More effective than his entire career in politics," another dissatisfied Aussie said. 'Trying to stay relevant,' one more person said. However, other people praised Abbott for his good deed, with one person saying they were impressed by his leadership behaviour. "He always was a real one," another person said, as many other viewers chimed Abbott was a "legend" and "top bloke" who puts others first. "Just doing this has provided more value than Anthony Albanese has in his entire tenure as Prime Minister," a commentator said. "I disagree with all his I think he would be the type to stop and help if he saw you stranded on the side of the road," said another. It's far from Abbott's first selfless act. The politician has been a volunteer with the NSW Rural Fire Service (RFS) Davidson Brigade in northern Sydney for more than 20 years. RSF members are often trained in traffic control and put their skills to use during emergencies. Abbott has been on the front line during national disasters, including the 2019–2020 Black Summer bushfires and 2018 fires in NSW.
