Brabus has announced an even lairier spin on the catchily-titled Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E Performance with this new '1000' version. As you can probably guess, that means its twin-turbo hybrid V8 produces exactly… 986bhp. That's 1,000PS, of course.
An equally impressive 1,195lb ft of torque is the other headline figure, and allows Brabus' take on the 2+2, four-wheel drive super coupe to get from 0-62mph in 2.6s. Off the line, that makes it faster than the new McLaren W1 hypercar. Keep your foot planted for another 21s and you'll see 186mph before bouncing off the 198mph limiter.

Generous amounts of carbon fibre have been used across the exterior for even more drama: namely on the front splitter, nostrils and wheel arches, as well as the mirror covers and rear diffuser. Finishing touches include a 76mm stainless steel quad-exhaust, 21/22in 10-spoke forged alloys, plus a neat rear wing.
Menacing colour palette too, no? The gloss black look is accentuated by red brake calipers, and the AMG GT's body is now perched 20mm lower to the ground thanks to a set of height-adjustable sports springs.
It's a similar theme inside, where the gorgeously quilted leather upholstery gets flying saucer-like patternation. The centre console is teemed with more carbon, while Brabus logos adorn the headrests and steering wheel. The red used here looks even shinier than that outside, and really makes the cabin pop.
Pricing is under wraps for now and will likely fluctuate a fair bit depending on the finishes, but do consider the less-powerful Brabus '750' already starts at an eye-watering £262k.

Lewis Hamilton in a ‘difficult place personally' amid Ferrari struggles, says Martin Brundle
Martin Brundle believes Lewis Hamilton is in a 'difficult place personally' after a difficult start to his Ferrari F1 career. After winning six world titles and spending 12 years at Mercedes, Hamilton moved to Ferrari ahead of the 2025 campaign, targeting a historic eighth world championship this year. However, in a car short of pace compared to frontrunners McLaren, Hamilton is yet to finish in the top-three after 14 grands prix. His best result came when he won the sprint race in China in March. The 40-year-old endured a torrid weekend in Hungary, qualifying and finishing the race in 12th, labelling his own display 'useless' and encouraging Ferrari to look for another driver. 'I'm not looking forward to writing this next section,' said ex-F1 driver Brundle at the start of his Sky Sports column. 'It's about Lewis Hamilton, who endured what must have been one of the worst weekends of his career, in and out of the car. 'He described himself as 'useless' in post-qualifying interviews and suggested the team should change the driver. That was best left unsaid, but he obviously wanted to openly punish himself. 'He's clearly in a difficult place personally, and during the race he would finish in that same 12th position, never really showing signs of progress. 'He sat in the car in parc ferme post-race for what seemed an age and was very downbeat in interviews again.' Hamilton acknowledged he is 'looking forward' to the four-week summer break ahead of the next race in the Netherlands on 31 August – and Brundle believes it has come at the perfect time, before speculating how long Hamilton can cope with this level. 'The summer break couldn't be more timely for Lewis to have a reset,' Brundle added. 'It's painful to observe this great champion in so much strife, and we have to expect that he can weather the storm and return to form given his talent and experience. 'Otherwise I simply can't see him enduring two more seasons at Ferrari, or anywhere else, like this.' Ex-F1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone has stated that Hamilton, in his 19th consecutive F1 season, should retire from the sport given his current plight.

Bernie Ecclestone urges Lewis Hamilton to retire from F1: ‘He is tired'
Bernie Ecclestone has urged Lewis Hamilton to retire from Formula One amid his torrid start to life at Ferrari. Seven-time world champion Hamilton, 40, has failed to secure a podium in his first 14 races for the Scuderia and was despondent last weekend, after qualifying and finishing 12th in Hungary. Hamilton moved to Ferrari after six titles and 12 years at Mercedes amid much fanfare but, aside from a sprint race win in China, has struggled in a Ferrari car yet to pick up a victory this season, his 19th in the sport. Ecclestone, who was in charge of F1 for 40 years before relinquishing control to Liberty Media in 2017, believes Hamilton would be 'cheating himself' if he decided to continue and should have retired 'a while ago.' 'Lewis is very talented, was and probably still is,' Ecclestone, 94, told the Daily Mail. 'But like a lot of leading sports personalities when they reach the top, there is only one way to go and it's not a good direction. It's only down. 'They get tired. Lewis is tired. He's been doing what he is doing forever. He needs a rest from it for good, a total reset to do something completely different. He may not think it, but he will soon get used to doing other stuff away from motor racing. 'I think he should have done it a while ago.' Ecclestone added that Hamilton, who is in the first year of a £50m-a-year deal lasting two seasons, should look to get his contract paid out in full. 'The guy is not a cheat, but he would be cheating himself if he goes on,' Ecclestone added. 'He should stop now. If I were looking after him I would negotiate with Ferrari immediately and say, 'if you have someone to replace Lewis, he'll step aside.' 'If I were Lewis, I would say to Ferrari that I wanted to be paid all my contract, in full. They signed him because they thought he could do a job. 'It isn't working so I can I can make way if you want me to'… but that's the arrangement.' Hamilton labelled himself 'useless' and even stated Ferrari should look for a driver to replace him after his performance in qualifying in Budapest. While teammate Charles Leclerc secured pole position, Hamilton failed to make Q3. A day later, he hinted at 'background' issues at Ferrari, before saying he was 'very much' looking forward to the four-week summer break before the next round in the Netherlands on 31 August. 'I look forward to coming back, hopefully I will be back, yeah.'

Toto Wolff speaks out about Lewis Hamilton amid Ferrari woes
Toto Wolff, Mercedes boss, has expressed confidence that Lewis Hamilton can still win an eighth Formula 1 world championship, despite his current struggles at Ferrari. Hamilton recently described his performances as "useless" after finishing 12th in Hungary, having not secured a podium finish in the current season. Wolff praised Hamilton's "emotional transparency" and affirmed that he remains the "GOAT" (greatest of all time) with "unfinished business" in F1. Wolff suggested Hamilton's current difficulties are linked to the car not providing the feedback he desires, similar to recent Mercedes vehicles. He believes that new car designs and power units for next year could enable Hamilton to perform better and achieve his championship goal at Ferrari.
