Former SEC QB thinks Georgia's Gunner Stockton is being underestimated
"I just think people are really underestimating how talented Gunner Stockton actually is," Rodgers said. "Probably because he sat behind Carson Beck who is one of the most gifted throwers in the country. Like he is a dual-threat guy, he is a legitimate threat to run the football. And I think in that Sugar Bowl, he played good enough to win that game. His offensive line couldn't block anybody, his receivers let him down over and over again. He continued, under pressure, to work the ball in tight windows. I think a lot of people are overlooking just how good Gunner Stockton is."
In his first collegiate start, after replacing the injured Carson Beck after the SEC Championship, Stockton delivered a strong performance against Notre Dame, throwing for 234 yards and a touchdown while completing 62.5% of his passes.
Now with a full season ahead, Stockton has a chance to make sure that his doubters and prove people like Jordan Rodgers right. Stockton will have a couple of weeks to adjust to starting where he'll play against a pair of non-Power Four opponents to start the season before playing at Tennessee in Week 3.

Top college football commentator predicts LSU football to win the national title
NEW: College Football Playoff Prediction via @jdpickell🏆Do you agree? 🤔 On3 commentator J.D. PicKell picked LSU football to win the 2025 national championship in a College Football Playoff bracket he released on Tuesday. Pickell has the Tigers, seeded No. 1, defeating No. 2 Ohio State in the championship game. They are one of five SEC teams included in the bracket alongside Georgia, Alabama, Texas, and Texas A&M. In the 12-team setup, LSU earns a first-round bye, then faces No. 9 Alabama in the quarterfinals and No. 5 Oregon in the semifinals. The Crimson Tide face the No. 8 Bulldogs in the opening round. Pickell has No. 4 Texas being upset by No. 5 Oregon in the quarterfinals. The format for the College Football Playoffs following the 2025 regular season will be a straight-seeding model, giving the top-four teams in the final playoff rankings first-round byes. Pickell's prediction continues to generate hype for LSU ahead of the 2025 season. The Tigers returned quarterback Garrett Nussmeier, along with signing the top-ranked transfer class in the country. LSU head coach thinks he finally has the roster to break through and make the playoff with LSU, though Kelly isn't a stranger after leading Notre Dame to multiple playoff appearances. Pickell's breakdown includes five SEC teams, three from the Big Ten, one from the ACC, one from the Sun Belt, and one independent.

Georgia, Texas atop 2025 SEC football preseason power rankings
The media predicts that the Texas Longhorns will win the Southeastern Conference in 2025. The Georgia Bulldogs are predicted to finish second and fall to the Longhorns in the SEC championship for a second straight season. Texas received 96 votes to be SEC champions while Georgia received 44 votes, which is second-most in the conference. Outside of Georgia and Texas, both Alabama (29 votes) and LSU (20 votes) received at least 20 media votes and should be considered SEC championship contenders entering the fall. In 2024, the media's preseason poll correctly picked that Georgia would beat Texas in the SEC championship, so the poll should carry a significant amount of weight. The poll also ranks each SEC team based on predicted order of finish in the standings. We use that same order to create the conference's implied power rankings entering the 2025 season. 2025 SEC preseason power rankings This season, Georgia is scheduled to play the bottom two teams in the power rankings (Kentucky and Mississippi State). Georgia plays four of the top eight teams in the SEC power rankings, but will play three (Texas, Alabama and Ole Miss) at home and one at a neutral site (Florida). Malaki Starks has a history of practicing with Ravens' offensive coordinator Todd Monken
Malaki Starks and Todd Monken have former NCAAF ties. Team camaraderie, that's what the Baltimore Ravens are built upon. So much so that even rookie defensive back Malaki Starks and offensive coordinator Todd Monken had ties before joining the franchise. In 2022, Monken was running his strategies as offensive coordinator for the Georgia Bulldogs and Starks was on the opposite side of the ball doing reps versus Monken's scheme. The tandem actually yielded a 2022 NCAA Championship as the Bulldogs defeated TCU 65-7 on Jan 9, 2022. It definitely helps to know that Starks gets to practice versus an offense that was No. 1 in rush yards per game and eclipsed 4,000 passing yards in 2024. Starks recently called Monken 'the best offensive coordinator in the game' during a press conference at training camp last week. Both Monken and Starks are passionate students of the game. Deferring praise, and offering thought, Starks has downplayed the accolades all-pro safety Kyle Hamilton has given him. Starks would rather walk in humility, and wait for an opportunity to prove himself on the field. General Manager Eric DeCosta has continued to make the right decision, appointing ideal personnel to accommodate players and mesh with the team identity. Starks and Monken are staple pieces that will help mold the infrastructure of the franchise in the new era.
