Selena Gomez Glows in 'Past and Present' Photo Dump

Yahoo22-05-2025
Life has been busy for Selena Gomez, who just dropped a sweet cookie collab with Oreo this week. Following news that she's branching out into snack foods (at least temporarily), the Same Old Love singer shared a behind-the-scenes look at what she's been up to lately.
Gomez labeled the 12-slide Instagram share with the caption, "past and present 💕 …"
She started the photo dump with a glamorous shot from inside her home, in which the pop star stunned in a black halter top and her signature slicked-back hair. The Rare Beauty founder was literally glowing in natural makeup, which included an over-lined but nude-colored pout and winged eyeliner.
The second photo featured Gomez and her 11-year-old sister, Gracie Elliot Teefey, snuggling together for a selfie. Other photos featured Gomez's head wrapped in gauze after a dental visit, and a selfie while absolutely killing it in a strapless white dress.
Naturally, fiancé Benny Blanco made a couple of appearances, once in a mirror selfie and then again when the couple shared a quick kiss. We also saw a bit of self-care from face marks to ponytails and shots of friend Connar Franklin Carpenter, who reposted their selfie and commented, "15 ponytails later."
Blanco beemed with pride in the comments section, exclaiming, "hey… das my baby !!!"
The collection of photos and videos has already garnered quite a bit of attention, with over 1.3 million likes in just a couple of hours.

The Best Restaurant Restrooms for a Selfie Break in Atlanta

Lia Picard is a lifestyle journalist who has called Atlanta home for more than a decade. Since 2017, she's written about the intersection of food and culture as well as the restaurant industry and the fascinating people that comprise it. We go to restaurants for the food and ambiance, but these days, a well-designed bathroom may steal the show. In the Instagram era, bathrooms do more than serve as a pit stop; they're backdrops for selfie photoshoots. Designers across Atlanta are creating bathrooms decked out with murals, tiled mosaics, and dreamy lighting. Whether it's a neon sign or flying pigs, here are eight Atlanta restaurant bathrooms that make a mid-meal bathroom break part of the overall experience. You don't have to attend a swanky 12-course dinner at Kinship to use their restroom; just stop by for a breakfast sandwich or a coffee from Academy. Or maybe some bacon? The restroom's decor pays homage to the butcher shop setting with a pink LED sign that says 'ham' and a whimsical mural of flying pigs spanning the walls. Plenty of potted plants line the floor. The bathroom at Kinship Butcher & Sundry. Lia Picard While it's Jarrett Stieber's creativity and execution on the plate that garnered accolades from Michelin, the restaurant's bathrooms are uniquely designed, too. There are two to choose from: blue or pink. The pink restroom is awash in a pink glow from a neon sign in cheeky Little Bear fashion that simply reads 'neon sign,' while the blue bathroom sports an abstract hand-cut tile mosaic by artist Wihro Kim. It's an exciting time at Umi — the restaurant recently installed Kazuo Yoshida as chef and unveiled renovated restrooms. Umi's dining room pulses with upbeat music and sharply dressed diners (maybe even a celeb or two), while the restrooms serve as a quiet retreat from the hubbub. The single-stall bathrooms riff on minimalist Japanese design with Pietra d'Avola marble lining the walls, floors, and sink. It's a dark and moody sanctuary, but the real star of the loo is the seat-warming Toto toilet. Valor's Dunwoody location is sun-filled and high energy, with a quiet escape found in their two single-stall bathrooms. One is your standard restroom, while the other is decidedly a vibe with a glowing pink light. It's a little trippy, but with the help of botanical scented hand soaps by Everyone, it's also kind of zen. Writer Lia Picard at Tiny Lou's peach wallpaper-covered bathroom. Lia Picard Tiny Lou's restroom is wrapped in oversized peach wallpaper, a nod to its home state, we're sure. The bold orange and green palette has a way of making you feel like you're in an orchard and creates a dreamy landscape. Since you're already at Hotel Clermont, you may as well swing by the lobby bathroom, which is cool in a different way with two-way mirrors in the powder room. Check out the two-way mirrors at the lobby bathroom in Hotel Clermont. Asher Moss You must visit the bathroom at Ryokou in Adair Park. It's one of the most luxurious experiences in town: It's all black, with a heated toilet seat, a beautiful marble sink, and even matching black toilet paper. The room is candlelit, and black rolled hand towels complete the look. These details are a wonderful respite from the equally gorgeous dining room. Located in Midtown, the Consulate is designed to the hilt throughout the dining room with decor that matches its global fare, and the bathrooms are just as design-forward. Choose your fighter: the 'gun room' or the 'green room.' The gun room pays homage to James Bond and features a literal wall of prop guns and movie memorabilia. The green room, on the other hand, soothes with a soft palette, floral artworks, and a vintage dressing room chair. There's a mid-century modern flair in both of them, adding to a sense of timelessness. Whether you visit the St. Regis in Buckhead for Michelin-starred Atlas or afternoon tea, you're likely dressed up for the occasion. Marble-tiled walls and floors, as well as a handsome chandelier and a recessed ceiling, reinforce the glam essence associated with the hotel. Floor-length mirrors make it easy to get a fit check (and maybe a quick pic) before heading out. Located in Decatur, the Reading Room creates a cozy setting with its boho-chic, plant-filled decor in its coffee shop. The bathrooms further reflect that design. One bathroom wraps the visitor in a lush tropical print on black wallpaper and a stunning brass sink, while the other sports a lighter, cheery floral and butterfly-printed wallpaper. Both pack an aesthetic punch, so you can't go wrong. Alicia Silverstone believes 'Clueless' and the '90s never went away, except for one thing

NEW YORK – Alicia Silverstone came to fame in the 1990s, long before the barrage of Instagram comments, TikTok algorithms and YouTube rabbit holes. And she acknowledges that she "can't imagine" what it would be like to start her career in this day and age. But there's one part of Silverstone's origin that the actress isn't sentimental about. "They're kinder to people now, aren't they?" Silverstone, 48, ponders. "(The media) used to be able to just rip a woman apart. Now you would not be allowed to do that." The actress doesn't see a lot of stories like the ones written about her in the '90s. There was the 1995 Rolling Stone profile that called Silverstone an actress "whom lots of men want to sleep with" (she was 18). Then there was the obsessive attention paid to her weight while filming 1997's "Batman & Robin." These days, "people would've come to my rescue, right?" she adds. "In any given moment, there's a group of people who have things to say, and then the other people come and they smash (the negative comments) down. Before, we didn't have that." Instead, following the coverage around her turn as Batgirl, Silverstone told The Guardian that she entered a period where she "stopped loving acting." But now Silverstone is as busy as ever, with roles on TV and in film, plus an upcoming trip to Venice Film Festival. Alicia Silverstone plays 'a powerful woman who likes sex' in 'Pretty Thing' Silverstone's first major film role came at 15 in the erotic thriller "The Crush." More than 30 years later, the actress returns to the genre with "Pretty Thing" (available on digital platforms). She plays Sophie, a successful executive who has an affair with a younger lover (Karl Glusman). The relationship takes a turn when Sophie tries to leave and he becomes obsessive. "She's a powerful, professional woman who likes sex," Silverstone says. "In the '90s, a lot of these erotic thrillers, if a woman likes sex, she had to be crazy or die or kill someone. What I like about ('Pretty Thing') is that Sophie likes sex and she's not the crazy one. He is." Silverstone will be back in movie theaters in October, reuniting with director Yorgos Lanthimos for the black comedy "Bugonia." She previously worked with the filmmaker on the 2017 psychological thriller 'The Killing of a Sacred Deer.' "Bugonia" stars Emma Stone and Jesse Plemons and will premiere in Venice, with Silverstone in attendance. "I've been fans of theirs for so long," Silverstone says of Stone and Plemons. "Even though I have a very small role in that film, I am just so happy to be there with them." Alicia Silverstone had 'severe exhaustion' working on 'Irish Blood' Silverstone's latest project is the series "Irish Blood" (first two episodes streaming now, new episodes Mondays on Acorn TV). The actress plays a Los Angeles attorney who travels to Ireland in hopes of uncovering a mystery about her father. Silverstone, also an executive producer on the six-episode run, resided about 45 minutes outside of Dublin during production. Working on "Irish Blood" "created severe exhaustion because the first whole month, every moment that I wasn't shooting, I was working on the scripts with the writers," Silverstone recalls, though the experience was still "wonderful." "I'm so grateful that I get to do this artistic fun thing." Usually, she practices her lines and scenes at least a month out. Instead, she would "run lines" while in the makeup chair that morning, sometimes for as little as 20 minutes. "I would, between takes (and) scenes, be learning the next thing," Silverstone says. "It's really full on mental. There's no downtime, that's for darn sure." Alicia Silverstone calls 'Clueless,' 'this amazing, thrilling thing' Following "The Crush," Silverstone appeared in three music videos for Aerosmith, including "Cryin'." This led to her landing the role of Cher Horowitz in 1995's cult classic "Clueless." She's enjoyed celebrating the film's 30th anniversary, including a screening in June at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures. "No one could have known that it would be such a cultural phenomenon," says Silverstone, who's thankful it's reaching a new generation. Silverstone remembers walking in a Florida shopping mall while filming the "The Requin" in 2020. "These 14-year-olds were staring at me and I thought, 'Why are they staring at me?' And they came over like, 'Ah!' and then I realized, 'Oh, (the movie has) really caught on again.' " "Clueless" isn't the only '90s relic having a moment. The nostalgia has hit music as well, where TRL-era acts like Backstreet Boys, Nelly, the Goo Goo Dolls and Oasis are all enjoying successful residencies and summer tours. "I remember people talking about the '90s were back, and that was a long time ago," Silverstone says with a laugh. "The '90s has come back and it keeps coming back. I don't think it ever went away."

Bill Belichick takes page out of Jordon Hudson's playbook with surprise UNC football tactic

'#GoatYoga' takes UNC? Well, sort of. First-year Tar Heels coach Bill Belichick spoke Wednesday about the benefits of utilizing yoga as a recovery technique when discussing his UNC football team — months after his 24-year-old girlfriend, former college cheerleader Jordon Hudson, showcased her stretches in a viral beach post with the 73-year-old coach, who balanced her in the air with his feet. Jordon Hudson/Instagram 'With all due respect, I'm not exactly sure what was or what wasn't done here last year in all the different areas, yoga is a recovery technique, it's not really a training technique, we use it more for recovery and there are a lot of benefits to it,' Belichick said, according to 247 Tar Heel. Advertisement 'Certainly, it's a good way after a couple, three, four days of practices to give the body a chance to recover, stretch, get the blood flowing and so forth, that's really what it's used for.' Belichick, who is preparing for North Carolina's season opener against TCU next month, had much of the internet buzzing in March when Hudson posted a series of Instagram snapshots of the couple at the beach in Florida, where she performed acrobatic exercises and showed off her flexibility. 5 Jordon Hudson, a former college cheerleader, hyped '#GoatYoga' in the post. The eight-time Super Bowl winner joined the college coaching ranks in December 2024 when UNC named him its next football coach. Belichick spent 24 seasons in New England, winning six Super Bowls alongside future Hall of Fame quarterback Tom Brady, before exiting the franchise in January 2024. 5 Jordon Hudson has supported Bill Belichick has he coaches the college ranks for the first time. Getty Images Advertisement He pivoted to sports media opportunities after missing out on the NFL hiring cycle. As for Hudson, whom Belichick was revealed to be dating in 2024, her role in the coach's orbit has been widely dissected in recent months. In the wake of a 'CBS Mornings' interview debacle this past April, when Hudson punted a question about how the couple met, Belichick made it clear she isn't involved in his UNC dealings. 'That's really off to the side, it's a personal relationship. She doesn't have anything to do with UNC football,' Belichick said in May. The controversies haven't simmered, however, as Hudson was recently embroiled in podcast drama after Charlotte Wilder claimed she received a cold call from Belichick's biggest fan. UNC hosts TCU on Sept. 1.
