Who is Kyle Ashman?
Kyle Ashman is a 23-year-old man from Stafford.
He works as a water operative, laying and repairing water pipes.
Kyle was all set to star in this year's Love Island but was removed after The Sun journalists uncovered his arrest.
Earlier this year, Kyle was one of two men questioned after a vicious attack at a wake.
Two machete-wielding men attacked mourners at The White Eagle Club in Stafford on February 28. One of those – a father – nearly lost an arm in the mass brawl as a result of his injuries.
Kyle was arrested by police and questioned before being released without charge. Police have confirmed that he is not a suspect in the ongoing investigation.
As a result of the controversy, Kyle decided to leave the show and won't fly out to Majorca to join the other contestants at the sun-soaked villa.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, Kyle said: 'I fully cooperated with this police investigation and made it very clear that I had no involvement in this incident.'
He added: 'I am not a violent person and any suggestion otherwise is a mischaracterisation.'
What does Kyle's decision to leave Love Island mean?
Kyle's decision to leave puts Love Island bosses in a difficult position, with cameras about to start rolling on this much-loved show.
There are also questions about how ITV vetting checks could have missed something as serious.
ITV bosses speaking to The Sun said: 'For personal reasons, Kyle will not be entering the Love Island Villa as planned.'
This isn't the first time Love Island contestants have found themselves dealing with controversy.
In 2023, salesman Haris Namani was caught on camera punching another man on a night out.

Dakota Johnson left feeling 'incredible pain' after split with Chris Martin

Dakota Johnson, who was in the popular Fifty Shades film series, was in a relationship with Coldplay frontman Chris Martin for nearly eight years until their split Dakota Johnson is has been left feeling "incredible pain" amid her split from Chris Martin, it is said. The 35-year-old actress, who was in the Fifty Shades film series and last year's Madame Web, was reportedly determined to make the relationship work but, after almost eight years together, the pair confirmed they've gone their separate ways. They found their relationship, which began in 2017, stalled, a source said. ‌ But the split is believed to have hit Dakota hard. A source told The Sun: "Dakota wanted this relationship to work. She not only loves Chris, but his two kids, and that loss feels incredibly painful. The decision to end things was amicable, but Dakota is finding it hard. Over the past year, it became clear that their relationship had stalled and wasn't moving forwards." ‌ Coldplay's epic world tour continues and Dakota has been away on shoots for upcoming films Materialists and Verity recently. It is thought their flourishing careers have provided challenges for their relationship. "Settling down, as in Chris properly taking his foot off the pedal, isn't going to happen. And, ultimately, it was one of the many straws that broke the back of them," the source continued. A sombre Dakota was last pictured in New York City on Wednesday hours before the split news broke, and without her engagement ring. However, the couple were hit by split rumours in August last year, speculation sources close to them denied. But now that decision has been reached with an insider confirming the "relationship had been over for a long time". Speaking earlier this week, the insider added: "They just haven't been able to figure out to make it official. Dakota held a flame for them to be together because she loved him so much and loved his kids so much. "Breakups aren't instant and they continued to breakup and makeup and sometimes things would work when they were away from each other, while they were working because absence makes the heart grow fonder, but then they'd get back together and little things just kept adding up to where they weren't right for each other anymore... Dakota is devastated that she isn't going to be around his kids as much anymore, but wants them to know that she is always there for them." Chris, 48, shares those two children with actress Gwyneth Paltrow, whom he married in December 2003. They divorced in 2016, a split Gwyneth described as "conscious uncoupling". The Grammy Award nominee, 52, has since gone on to marry writer and producer Brad Falchuk, whom Gwyneth met on the set of Glee when she had a recurring guest role in the musical comedy-drama.

Bradley Walsh opens up on being 'sacked' from role as he talks The Chase future

The Chase presenter Bradley Walsh has been on our television screens for over two decades, but before he made a name for himself in the entertainment industry, he had a very different career Bradley Walsh, the much-loved British television presenter who celebrated his 65th birthday this week, has previously hinted at "slowing down", but with his jam-packed diary, it's evident that day is nowhere in sight. A familiar face on UK telly, he graces our screens with a variety of fan favourites such as ' The Chase ', 'Gladiators', 'Blankety Blank', and hits the road in 'Breaking Dad' with his son Barney Walsh. ‌ But before becoming a television mainstay, Walsh kicked off his career joining Rolls Royce as an apprentice jet engineer and then briefly glimmered on the football pitch after being scouted by Brentford FC, until an unfortunate injury curtailed his play. ‌ Starting in showbiz as a Pontins bluecoat entertainer gave Bradley his first taste of the stage life. Despite his natural fun-loving tendencies which often got him into trouble during school and previous occupations, his spirited antics eventually led to him losing this job. Speaking to earlier this year, Walsh reminisced: "Once I left that to get into the entertainment industry and become a blue coat, I got sacked from being the bloke that was messing around. I thought that was the job! In the end I thought to myself, why don't I just get paid for messing around?". Post-Pontins, Walsh pursued a path in comedy stating, "That was a very conscious decision. So, I've got myself a routine together,". Describing his comedic style, he said, "I was a very physical comic, bit like Norman Wisdom, not so many jokes. I was a very physical comic. And that's where it all started." Bradley Walsh has been gracing our televisions for more than 20 years as a comedian, actor, and presenter. His impressive acting portfolio includes stints as Danny Baldwin on ITV's ' Coronation Street ', DS Ronnie Brooks in 'Law and Order: UK' and taking on the role of Graham O'Brien in ' Doctor Who ' aired on BBC One, reports Gloucestershire Live. ‌ In 2009, Bradley took the reins as host of ITV's quiz phenomenon 'The Chase', marking a strategic shift in his professional path. Walsh detailed how he snagged the opportunity to host The Chase after popping into ITV studios to enquire about presenting jobs. While reminiscing during a conversation with the former head of daytime TV, she mentioned an upcoming quiz show concept, prompting Bradley's feedback. Recounting their discussion, Bradley shared: "I took it away and I said 'Yes, this can work, this will work' and she said, 'Okay, well we're going to make a pilot' and I said, 'I'll do it for you' and she said, 'Yeah, but it's only an office run-through' and I said, 'I'll do it for you, don't worry'." During an appearance on the Tommy Tiernan show last year, he remembered kick-starting the pilot and devising the monikers for The Chasers. Fast forward nearly 16 years, Bradley's enthusiasm for The Chase hasn't waned, and he has no intention of quitting anytime soon.

Brazen Instagram post of criminal on the run after escaping jail two weeks ago

Antoine Massey, still on the run after escaping more than two weeks ago from a New Orleans jail, says the "the system has failed a lot of people and not just me" This is the latest Instagram post from a shameless fugitive still at large after escaping jail more than two weeks ago. The man, thought to be Antoine Massey, is pictured in front of a blue car in the social media post, which sources say police are "treating as if it's real". Massey, who has distinctive facial tattoos, was one of ten inmates who escaped a prison in New Orleans, Louisiana, on May 16. ‌ In the Instagram post, the person claiming to be Massey, 32, says: "I'm showing y'all the whole world how corrupted the state of Louisiana is. I'm an innocent man. Yes, in my past I've made mistakes... but the system has failed a lot of people and not just me." ‌ But Massey faces charges of kidnapping, rape, domestic battery involving strangulation and motor vehicle theft. The only other prisoner not to have captured since the breakout is Derrick Groves, who is a convicted murderer. READ MORE: New Orleans prison escape shock twist as grandma now faces jail time Police say it is unclear where or when the latest Instagram picture was taken. Deputy US Marshal Brian Fair told reporters: "We would encourage Mr Massey to turn himself in and go through proper legal channels for his day in court." However, earlier this week, videos emerged on social media purporting to be Massey. In them, Massey asked for help from key figures, including President Donald Trump, Kim Kardashian, and several rappers. In the footage, he displayed paperwork which he claimed proves he was wrongfully jailed in a domestic abuse case. However, Massey has spent time inside after being convicted of crimes. As a result of the clips, authorities raised a home in New Orleans home around two miles from the jail, where they believed the videos were produced. They said they only found some of the clothing they believed Massey wore in the videos. Speaking after the videos surfaced, Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry urged Massey and Groves to "quit the hide-and-seek game" and turn themselves in. He is yet to respond to the latest Instagram post. When the prisoners absconded last month, they yanked up a faulty cell door, crawled through a hole in a wall behind a toilet where steel bars had been cut and then scaled a barbed wire fence using blankets for protection. It was one of the largest jailbreaks in recent US history. A maintenance worker was arrested after allegedly turning off water to a toilet covering a hole in a cell wall. State and local officials heaped criticism on the management of Orleans Parish Sheriff Susan Hutson, who has largely blamed the jailbreak on poor infrastructure and the inability to make needed improvements at the 10-year-old $150 million (£110 million) facility. Eight of the escaped men have been apprehended, leaving Massey and Groves on the run.
