WWE Night Of Champions results: Cena retains with Rollins' help, new champion crowned

India Today6 hours ago

John Cena was able to retain his WWE Championship thanks to some help from Seth Rollins, while we saw the debut of a new member of the roster at Night Of Champions on Saturday, June 28. The new King and Queen Of The Ring were crowned while we got a new US Champion in the form of Solo Sikoa. The main event was the WWE title match between Cena and CM Punk, an epic rivalry that was reignited over the past few months. The match was advertised as Cena's last hurrah as a WWE Superstar in Riyadh and the contest delivered. The crowd inside the Kingdom Arena was hot for both men, who started the match with some classic offence. advertisementTop 5 WWE Superstars with most wins in 2025
At one point, it was about who would hit their finisher first, with Cena getting the upper hand in this aspect. He delivered a total of three AAs but Punk was able to kick out on each occasion, much to the surprise of Cena and the fans. During one of the hard-hitting sequences, the referee got taken out and Punk got the GTS in. His call for a new ref was answered by Seth Rollins, who along with Paul Heyman, Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed came to the ring and took out Punk. View this post on Instagram A post shared by WWE (@wwe)Cena came in the nick of time to prevent a cash-in from Rollins as Penta and Sami Zayn took care of Breakker. In the closing moments, it seemed like Cena and Punk had gained mutual respect once again but the WWE Champion tried to pull off a cheap shot which his rival was able to counter. advertisementHowever, Rollins came in again and took out Punk with the MITB briefcase and a Stomp, which Cena used to get the pin and leave Riyadh with the title. WWE Night Of Champions: Other resultsThe night started with the King Of The Ring final as Cody Rhodes faced off with Randy Orton. Both men had a lot of history going into the fight as they were stablemates some time ago and Orton had the upper hand over Rhodes in head-to-head stats. The match started with both men exchanging offence before Orton hurt his back with a superplex. The Viper was favouring his back for most of the match as Rhodes targeted the injured area. Orton continued to struggle with the injury and Rhodes made the most of it, delivering a Cody Cutter and an avalanche version of it, but the Viper continued to fight on. Orton got some offence in and delivered a RKO for a close call. Orton had the chance to put the match away with the Punt kick, but he hesitated for a long time and Rhodes was able to put him in a Figure Four. Orton got another RKO but Rhodes kicked out at two once again. The turning point of the match occurred towards the end, as Orton's ploy to distract the referee with a steel chair and remove the turnbuckle cover. But Rhodes drove Orton into the exposed turnbuckle and hit the Cross Rhodes for the win. advertisementRhea Ripley and Raquel Rodriguez delivered a great street fight as the crowd cheered on both women. Raquel had the advantage in the earlygoings of the match before Ripley was able to turn the tide. Roxanne Perez was able to help Raquel for a bit but Ripley took her out and then hit an avalanche Riptide to get the win. Karrion Kross and Sami Zayn finallly got their match in front of the strong crowd and both men delivered. Kross was in control for most of the contest as Zayn was able to mount a comeback. Both men traded some big moves before Kross had the Kross Jacket on and it seemed like Zayn was fading away. But he bounced back and Kross' overconfidence got the better him as Zayn delivered a helluva kick and got the win. The US Championship match wa grudge match between Jacob Fatu and Solo Sikoa. It seemed like Solo was in control before Fatu turned things around. The match saw a big return as Tonga Loa tried to help Solo but Fatu was able to counter it. advertisementThis is when the big debut happened as Hikuleo came in to take out Fatu and deliver him to Solo, who hit the Samoan Spike and became the new US Champion. The Queen Of The Ring final co-main evented the night and it was a crowning moment for Jade Cargill, who got the biggest win of her WWE career. Asuka delivered a big fight to Cargill as both women stole the show. Asuka seemed to be heading for the win when Cargill capitalised to secure the pin. A-list stars light up Jeff Bezos & Lauren Sánchez's star-studded final wedding bash in Venice with dance party

The wedding celebration of American tycoon and former journalist Lauren Sánchez Bezos in Venice culminated on Saturday, June 29, 2025, marking the third and final day of festivities. Athletes, celebrities, influencers, and business leaders converged to revel in the extravagant affair, attracting a high-profile crowd, including Oprah Winfrey, Bill Gates, NFL legend Tom Brady, and the Kardashians. The celebrity couple was seen enjoying one more special day with their guests amid an unforgettable wedding week. Billionaire Amazon founder, 61, and the Emmy Award-winning journalist, 55, tied the knot on the island of San Giorgio Maggiore in Venice, Italy, on Friday, June 27. The nuptials, which were preceded by a star-studded welcome party, are being capped off with a final blowout bash on Saturday night, June 28. Ahead of the final day of the star-studded celebration, a source told PEOPLE that two of the newlyweds' friends and favorite musicians, Usher and DJ Cassidy, will perform at the party. "[They're] going to set the tone. Tonight is all about the music," PEOPLE quoted the source as saying about the musical performances. "It's the culmination, the final big party." "The first night was dinner, the second was the ceremony with Andrea Bocelli's son performing, and tonight's the full-on dance floor," the source further stated. Ahead of the final bash, many of the celebrity guests were photographed getting into water taxis en route to the venue. The list included Oprah Winfrey, Gayle King, Leonardo DiCaprio, Kendall Jenner, Kylie Jenner, Kris Jenner, and Brooks Nader. Live Events Sánchez shared her first wedding photo on Instagram just hours after the ceremony. About half an hour after her first post, the former journalist shared a second post gushing over her wedding dress—a high-necked, hand-appliquéd Italian lace wedding dress designed by Dolce & Gabbana. "Not just a gown, a piece of poetry. Thank you @dolcegabbana for the magic you made," Lauren wrote. Meanwhile, hundreds of protesters marched through Venice's central streets on Saturday to say 'No' to billionaire Jeff Bezos , his bride, and their wedding extravaganza, which reached its third and final day amid celebrity-crowded parties and the outcries of tired residents. The couple's wedding, which took place at a private ceremony on the secluded island of San Giorgio, angered many Venetians, with some activists protesting it as an exploitation of the city by the billionaire Bezos, while ordinary residents suffer from overtourism, high housing costs, and the constant threat of climate-induced flooding. As the two newlyweds prepared for the final party Saturday evening, hundreds of Venetians and protesters from across Italy filled Venice's tiny streets with colorful banners reading 'Kisses Yes, Bezos No' and 'No Bezos, no War.' Venice has around 50,000 residents. The demonstration contrasted with the expensive wedding bonanza, seen by critics as an affront to the lagoon city's fragile environment and its citizens, overwhelmed by throngs of tourists. Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez announced their relationship in 2019. Four years later, the Amazon founder proposed to the former journalist with a 30-carat engagement ring in May 2023. Following the engagement, the celebrity duo kept their wedding plans private, though they shared bits and pieces here and there.

Wimbledon: Jannik Sinner, Aryna Sabalenka toss up to fight again

Aryna Sabalenka (AP Photo) LONDON: Wimbledon 's top seeds — Jannik Sinner and Aryna Sabalenka — amped up their preparations at the Aorangi Park practice courts on Saturday, looking for results that slipped out of their grasp three weeks ago in the world's fashion capital. Much water has flowed under the Thames since. Go Beyond The Boundary with our YouTube channel. SUBSCRIBE NOW! Some 120 hours after the heartbreaking loss, Sinner arrived in Halle for the ATP 500 Series tournament. He played three matches, acclimatizing to the grass, one doubles, with compatriot Lorenzo Sonego, and two singles. As many reverses in a four-week window for the 23-year-old as in the nine months that preceded it (mid-Aug 2024 to June 2025), but that's not the point, Sinner was back finding his feet on a surface that takes time adjusting too and that was statement enough. The world No.1 came up short on three successive match points in the fourth set against Carlos Alcaraz in the five-hour 29-minute Roland Garros final, two of them on second serves, one that dropped in the middle of the box at 144 kmph. In the women's final, Sabalenka was outsmarted by the No. 2 Coco Gauff in difficult conditions that dictated the pace of play. The world No. 1 went down in a tidal wave of unforced errors, 70 in all. In her post-match conference, about an hour after the loss, the Belarusian couldn't come up with an appreciative line for her opponent. Arshdeep vs Morkel: WWE at the Nets! | Team India's Lighter Moment in Birmingham The following day, Sabalenka posted an explanation on social media in which she gave Gauff credit for the win. A week later, after coming to terms with the loss, the world No. 1 wrote to the 21-year-old American and apologised for her comments. After hitting with Gauff on Centre Court on Friday, the duo made a TikTok video, a few dance moves, which in modern parlance translates to all is well. 'I didn't really want to offend Coco, I was upset with myself, and (my) emotions got the better of me. Of course, she got my respect, she knows it,' the 27-year-old said. 'We are good, we are friends. I hope the US media can be easy on me now.' Sabalenka, whose hurricane of a game, serve and groundstrokes, can stump opponents with pace and power, will go up against the Canadian model Carson Branstine, a qualifier who models to fund her tennis career, in the first round on Monday. In the days before Halle, Sinner and celebrated tenor Andrea Bocelli released a song, Polvere e Gloria: Dust and Glory, which they collaborated on when the Italian was serving his drug ban (Feb to May). Sinner, who delivers lines in a speaking role, underlines the importance of being yourself. Just when it appeared that the German-speaking Tyrolian was setting the mood in the lead-up to The Championships, where he opens against compatriot Luca Nardi, news that the world No. 1 had split with his fitness trainer Marco Panichi and physiotherapist Ulises Badio emerged, just three days before the start of the grass-court major. Osteopath Andrea Cipolla has joined Sinner at Wimbledon alongside his coaches Darren Cahill and Simone Vagnozzi. Panichi and Badio, who had previously worked with the 24-time Major winner Novak Djokovic, have been with Sinner for the last nine months. The Italian had earlier split with physio Giacomo Naldi and trainer Umberto Ferrara after his high-profile doping case, in which he tested positive for the banned substance Clostebol during the Indian Wells Masters last year. Sinner and Sabalenka, at their best on hardcourts, having won their three Majors on the synthetic surface, will be tested on the grass. Sinner, who has made one semifinal at SW19 in 2023, and Sabalenka, in the last-four in 2021 and 23, will look to shake-off recent demons and take the next step. In The Fire Inside, an American biographical sports film, twice Olympic gold medallist Claressa Shields is given life advice by her coach Jason Crutchfield. 'You can lose a fight, but you can't let no one take your heart,' he told the then budding pugilist, 'There's a difference.' Just by picking up their rackets and returning to competition, Sinner and Sabalenka have shown they know the difference. Game On Season 1 continues with Mirabai Chanu's inspiring story.
