Texas A&M lands a commitment from Kansas transfer guard
Griffen, a 6'6" sharpshooter, spent two seasons at Alabama, where he played a key role in the 2024 Final Four run before transferring to Kansas for his junior season. In his lone year with the Jayhawks, he averaged 6.3 points and 1.4 assists, shooting 33.6% from beyond the arc.

His breakout season came during his sophomore campaign at Alabama, where he posted 11.2 points, 3.4 rebounds, and a 39.2% three-point shooting percentage.
A former four-star recruit, Griffen returns to his home state of Texas, where he was ranked as the No. 5 prospect coming out of high school. His elite shooting ability and aggressive defensive play make him a strong fit for Bucky McMillan's fast-paced "Bucky Ball" system, which thrives on high-energy, up-tempo basketball.
With Griffen in the mix, Texas A&M continues to reshape its roster under McMillan, aiming to build a competitive squad for SEC play.

Notre Dame football head coach Marcus Freeman met with the media yesterday, and on Friday it was offensive coordinator Mike Denbrocks's turn at the podium. Denbrock wasn't too happy with the results yesterday, as he called it 'a little bumpy at times,' but didn't seem to be too worried do to the fact that neither of them have had a lot of live snaps under their belts. He wants them to experience some failure, as they can learn from their mistakes. He was happy to see both of them bouncing back after their errors, which shows that each of them aren't afraid to try and make plays. The race between Carr and Minchey looks like it will continue to go on for at least a few weeks until one separates from the other and a starter is named. Michigan State football extends official offer to 3-star TE commit Eddie Whiting

Eddie Whiting of Sioux Falls, S.D. received his official offer from Michigan State football on Friday. Whiting posted about the offer from Michigan State on his social media X account following receiving the official offer from the Spartans. August 1 is the first day for schools to extend official offers to prospects in the 2026 class. Whiting is a three-star tight end prospect in the 2026 class. He holds a recruiting rating of 87 and ranks as the No. 44 tight end in 247Sports' composite system. He is also listed as the No. 2 player from South Dakota in the class. Whiting was one of the first commitments for the Spartans in the 2026 class. He announced his commitment to Michigan State in early February, picking the Spartans over notable offers from Alabama, Auburn, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Iowa, Iowa State, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, UCLA, Washington, Washington State and Wisconsin. Notre Dame and UConn set to renew women's basketball rivalry in 2025-26
The Notre Dame women's basketball schedule just became a little juicier. Defending national champion UConn announced its non-conference schedule for its 2025-26 slate on Friday morning, and it includes the Fighting Irish. The Huskies conclude their non-conference schedule by hosting two of their most historic rivals: Notre Dame on January 19 at Gampel Pavilion and Tennessee on February 1 at PeoplesBank Arena. Per a UConn spokesperson, the Huskies and Notre Dame have extended their current series (which ended last season in South Bend) for another two years with the Huskies planning on playing at ND in 2026-27. UConn is 39-16 all-time against Notre Dame but lost to the Irish last year on the road. Certainly this is a marquee matchup for defending ACC player of the year Hannah Hidalgo and the Irish, as big games like this one are great for the sport.
