A 41-year-old man was arrested Tuesday after stabbing a police officer in the hand during a disturbance call, the Palm Springs Police Department said. Phillip Smith was taken into custody around 2:40 p.m. on April 22 after officers with the Palm Springs Police Department responded to reports of a "disturbance" in the 1500 block of North Sunrise Way, according to a press release.
