9 Love Island contestants who've been on shows before, as Boris' controversial reality TV past is revealed
One such Islander is new Casa Amor bombshell Boris, who it has just been revealed has already appeared on reality TV in his native Slovenia. The bombshell who has already made quite an impression on the girls and viewers is used to appearing in front of the camera as he appeared in the show The Farm.
Curious to know what he was like? Here's everything to know about Boris' reality TV past and all the other Islanders who had been on reality TV before Love Island.
Boris is the most recent Islander revealed to have a reality TV past. Yesterday The Sun reported Boris had previously appeared on a Slovenian reality TV known as The Farm where contestants live and work on farm in order to compete for prize money.
According to a pre show interview, Boris said he "didn't believe in" falling in love on reality TV, and didn't approve of "nudity on camera", and was going on the show for a "new experience". Those who watched the show claimed he came across as "unlikeable" and "lazy" and just spent his time sleeping and eating.
Another Love Islander who is already used to the spotlight is another Casa Amor bombshell Yaz Broom, who during last night's episode of Love Island revealed she was previously on The X Factor back in 2o16.
She appeared as part of the girl band Four of Diamonds and reached the live shows. The band were booted out during the fifth live show, but went onto sign a record contract with EMI Records.
Of course the most obvious Love Island cast member who was already on reality TV before going on the show was Joey Essex who entered the Villa last year. Joey made a name for himself going on TOWIE over a decade ago before going onto appear a bunch of reality shows including Dancing on Ice, I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here and Celebs Go Dating.
Grace, who appeared on season 11 and later the most recent season of All Stars, when Grace entered the Villa it was revealed she already knew Joey. And her secret connection to him was revealed when some eagle-eyed viewers found an old clip of Grace on Celebs Go Dating, during the same time that Joey was on the show.
When Paige entered the Villa on the first day of the very first Winter Love Island, she was already known for two reasons. The first being that she once dated Lewis Capaldi and the second that she had competed on Britain's Got Talent.
The singer competed on the show during season six in 2012 and she got all the way to the live finals.
Paige's fellow Love Islander Shaughna also had a pre-Love Island fame moment when she appeared on Celebs Go Dating in 2019. She attempted to date Made in Chelsea's Sam Thompson and let's just say their interaction did not go well.
She's loyal babe! And very loyal to reality TV. Before joining Love Island all the way back in 2018 she had already appeared on ITV2's Dinner Date and a number of CBBC shows when she was younger.
When Georgia first appeared on Love Island in 2017 we knew we recognised her from somewhere and it turned out she had already been on TV when she had starred in TOWIE all the way back in 2014.
All the way back in 2016 Tina Stinnes was the OG Islander who had already been on reality TV. Before going in the Villa she had previously appeared on a number of episodes of Made In Chelsea, she then went back on the show after Love Island.
Love Island continues on ITV2 and ITVX

JaNa Craig Speaks Out After Heartbreaking Split from Kenny Rodriguez: 'Devastating, Disgusting, and Disappointing'
Another Love Island USA couple has called it quits, and this one ends not with a whimper, but a full-on emotional mic drop. Season 6 star JaNa Craig has officially confirmed her breakup with Kenny Rodriguez, and her Instagram Story statement left no room for romantic illusions. After fans speculated for days, Craig took control of the narrative, calling the split 'devastating,' 'disgusting,' and more painful than any fan theory could possibly imagine. 'Hi my loves. Thank you for all your love & support. It means the world to me. As you know, Kenny and I are no longer together,' JaNa wrote to her followers on Sunday. 'Please know that I have seen all the breakup theories and none have matched up to how terrible, disgusting and disappointing it truly is. Discovering that someone you loved isn't who you thought they were and that the relationship you thought you were building hasn't been genuine since day one has been truly devastating. Thank you for respecting my privacy and please know as a child of God, I will always be okay.' Her words, equal parts raw and composed, landed with the weight of betrayal. And yes, 'since day one' is exactly what she said, hinting at a breakup so shocking it makes recent fan theories look tame by comparison. From Reality Romance to Real-Life Ruin The breakup marks a shocking end to one of the most beloved pairings to emerge from Love Island USA season 6. JaNa and Kenny entered the final stretch of the show as fan favorites, ultimately finishing in third place, just behind winners Serena Page and Kordell Page. Kenny, who didn't even enter the Villa until Day 13, made a fast impression, sweeping JaNa off her feet and into what viewers thought was a solid post-show relationship. But behind the Instagram reels and TikToks, it seems cracks were already forming. TMZ: JaNa Pulled the Plug According to TMZ, the split happened early Sunday morning, and it was JaNa who ultimately made the decision to walk away. While no specific reason has been confirmed, the outlet reports that JaNa spent the day leaning on her close friends, notably Serena Page and Leah Kateb, her tight-knit 'Powerpuff Girls' crew from the Villa. Fans were quick to connect the dots in recent days, noticing that JaNa and Kenny unfollowed each other on Instagram and removed each other from their bios. That subtle social media scrubbing was the first public sign that something was seriously off. But it wasn't just them. Sources say Serena, Leah, and even their respective boyfriends also unfollowed Kenny, suggesting whatever happened may have been serious enough to trigger a group-wide excommunication. All Love Lost Overnight Even more surprising, JaNa and Kenny were reportedly posting about each other on social media just the night beforethe breakup went public. So what happened? Was it cheating? A huge argument? A long-held secret finally revealed? Neither JaNa nor Kenny has confirmed the specific cause of the split, and as of now, Kenny Rodriguez has yet to publicly respond to JaNa's statement. Reps for both contestants have not returned multiple requests for comment. The Villa Wasn't Built to Last As far as Love Island breakups go, this one stings. JaNa and Kenny appeared to be among the few pairs who actually transitioned from TV chemistry to real-life connection, or so we thought. Now, it's clear JaNa is prioritizing healing and faith over public drama. 'Please know as a child of God, I will always be okay,' she wrote, ending her message with strength and grace. Whether Kenny speaks out or chooses to stay silent, the damage appears to be done. One thing's for certain: this wasn't your typical 'we grew apart' kind of breakup. Third Place, First in Heartbreak JaNa and Kenny may not have won the $100K prize like Serena and Kordell, but they did win viewers' hearts, at least until the relationship unraveled in real time, leaving behind a trail of unfollows and broken illusions. This breakup isn't just another reality TV split. It's a cautionary tale that what happens after the cameras stop rolling might be far more painful than any recoupling ceremony under the Fiji sun. The Season 6 alum has finally broken her silence about her split from fellow Islander Kenny Rodriguez, following breakup rumors over the weekend. While she didn't reveal the reason behind their parting, she called his behavior 'terrible, disgusting and disappointing.' Craig shared a statement on her Instagram Story on Tuesday, July 29, confirming the breakup. 'Hi my loves Thank you for all your love & support. It means the world to me. As you know, Kenny and I are no longer together,' she began. The 28-year-old then addressed the theories that have circulated on social media over the past few days — some of which have allegedly accused Kenny of cheating. She said that none of those theories 'have matched up to how terrible, disgusting and disappointing it truly is.' Rodriguez has yet to address the breakup publicly. Breakup rumors between the pair began swirling on July 27, after fans noticed that JaNa had unfollowed Kenny on social media, deleted her photos and videos with him, and that both had removed each other from their Instagram bios. TMZ confirmed that the couple called it quits on Sunday morning. JaNa's close friends and fellow Season 6 stars Serena Page and Leah Kateb — also known by their friend group nickname, PPG (aka the Powerpuff Girls) — unfollowed Kenny, along with their significant others, Kordell Beckham and Miguel Harichi. Their castmates Kaylor Martin, Olivia Walker, Kendall Washington and Connor Newsum also unfollowed Kenny on IG. The night before their breakup, Kenny shared videos on his Instagram Stories from David Dobrik's birthday party, which he and JaNa attended together on Saturday, July 26. In one video, Kenny was seen in a tuxedo, while JaNa wore a pink dress and blew a kiss to the camera. A source told People that there was 'no big, public blowout,' addressing the latest online speculation that the couple got into a fight at Dobrik's birthday party. 'That did not happen,' the insider said, adding, 'They will not be getting back together.' Meanwhile, TMZ reported that it was Craig who ultimately made the decision to split. The site said that 'JaNa's been leaning on her close girlfriends all day to help her get through her heartbreak.' JaNa and Kenny met during Love Island USA Season 6 and quickly formed a connection when he entered the villa on Day 13. Although they briefly split after Casa Amor when he recoupled with a bombshell, they got back together and finished in third place. Following the success of Season 6, Peacock launched a spinoff series following the Islanders as they navigate life in Los Angeles. In Love Island: Beyond the Villa , the couple were still doing long distance, and Kenny rented an apartment in the same apartment complex as JaNa during the duration of filming. 'Since leaving the villa, it's a big jump moving in together with someone, and I didn't want it to be televised, especially the first time,' Kenny explained. 'So we rented rooms next to each other. Another aspect for me is privacy. When JaNa gets ready for events, she has a huge glam team." He continued, Usually, there's somebody in there for wardrobe, and sometimes I don't have the space to change and things like that. Granted, we were always together on the show. It was great to experience L.A. and to be with her in the same city.' For Kenny's birthday in February, JaNa wrote how blessed she was to have him by her side. "You're not just my best friend, you're my safe place," she penned on Instagram. 'I love doing life with you. Your love gives me the courage to be myself around you and for that, I'm forever thankful. I hope this day brings you as much happiness as you bring me.' Stay tuned for more details. Tweens Keep Saying 'Clock It'—Here's What It Actually Means
Spoiler: It's not about telling time. We were unpacking for a trip when my brother noticed that our grandmother packed three different pairs of sneakers in her suitcase. Without missing a beat, he said, "You act like you're going to work out, but we all know those shoes aren't leaving the bag." All of a sudden, our 12-year-old niece chimed in, raised her eyebrows, opened her palm, tapped her middle finger on her thumb, and said "Clock it." Immediately I thought, *here we go*—another seemingly innocuous set of words that kids are using to get a quick laugh. And it helps that all the adults in the room look increasingly confused as more and more kids in our family erupted in giggles after hearing our niece. So of course, I had to do some digging to help answer my burning questions. What exactly does "clock it" mean, why are kids making that hand motion, and why is all of this so funny? What Does 'Clock It" Mean? The term "clock it" is used to call out a hidden truth or expose someone's real motive in a playful or knowing way. Kids typically say it while tapping their middle or index finger against their thumb, often with a hint of sass. It usually comes right after someone says a remark that cuts to the core of a situation or reveals an unspoken reality. For instance, if a teen says, "You only signed up for soccer so you can hang out with your crush after school," another might reply with "Clock it." Some also say "Clock that tea" instead of "Clock It," which means the same thing. Many speculate that the phrase took off after Justin Bieber's viral encounter in with a restaurant worker, in which he said "You're not getting it. It's not clocking to you that I'm standing on business." The interaction quickly became a meme, as fans noticed that Bieber used the slang term incorrectly. And while many poked fun at him, that didn't stop "clocking" from taking off. Then came Ace, the popular reality TV contestant from the latest season of Love Island, who created a viral song using the phrase with lyrics that even reference the finger gesture. The song took off, and teens began filming TikTok videos mouthing along while using the motion. But that's not the only reason why "clock it" is so popular right now. In fact, the term and all its variations have been used for decades. Where Did 'Clock It' Originate? Spoiler: The term "clock it" did not come from teens. And it didn't originate on TikTok, either. The phrase has roots in drag and ballroom culture, where "to clock" someone meant to notice something about them that might not be immediately obvious, especially something they were trying to hide. It was often used in a "read", which is a playful but cutting remark meant to expose the truth. Over time, "clock it" evolved from a more confrontational or shady phrase to something younger people use in everyday conversations. Thanks to reality shows like Ru Paul's Drag Race, and its prominence on social platforms, it filtered into Gen Z and Gen Alpha's vocabulary. Now tweens use it as a way to call something out, usually something funny, accurate, or quietly Do Kids Do That Hand Gesture with 'Clock It'? The pinched fingers gesture (thumb and middle finger, usually tapping together towards someone) comes from drag and ballroom culture, where callouts were often paired with theatrical flair—snaps, poses, looks. On TikTok, Gen Z and Gen Alpha influencers brought that same performative energy and popularized it among Parents Be Concerned? In most cases, "clock it" is nothing to worry about. Tweens use the term as a way to show off their observational skills or sense of humor. It often reflects growing social awareness and a desire to be seen as perceptive or clever—or to notice what others are simply too distracted to see. That said, like any slang, tone and context matter. If your child is using "clock it" to make fun of someone or as a way to bully others, it's worth checking in. What feels like harmless teasing to one kid can land differently for another. And because this phrase is rooted in drag and queer culture, where it was originally used to push back on societal norms, some LGBTQ+ teens may use "clock it" with a deeper understanding or reclaim it as part of their identity. Ultimately, the tween urge to call things out and be in the know is nothing new. "Clock it" is just this generation's version of "duh" or "busted." So when your kid hits you with a perfectly timed "clock it" just take it as a sign that they're reading the room. I just don't advise using it back on them. Trust me—I tried it with my niece and she clocked me. And it was not fun getting laughed at by a bunch of middle schoolers. Read the original article on Parents Solve the daily Crossword
