Madden 26 ratings: Travis Hunter, Ashton Jeanty, top rookies for 2025
Naturally, many fans will be looking forward to Madden 26's arrival due to the new players included in the game. Notably, the game will feature all 257 players selected in the 2025 NFL Draft, as well as a portion of the undrafted rookies on each team's 90-man roster.
Most of these rookies won't immediately be high-level impact players in the game. That said, a handful could emerge as early impact players and X-factors who could help gamers win in head-to-head battles or build quality contenders in Madden's franchise mode.
But who earned the distinction of being Madden 26's top overall rookie? Four players were given ratings of at least 80, but one unicorn stands alone atop the list ahead of the game's release.

Who is the top rookie in Madden 26?
Travis Hunter is the top-rated rookie in Madden 26. The 2025 NFL Draft's No. 2 overall pick earned a rating of 84 overall for the 2025 edition of the video game, one point higher than No. 6 overall pick Ashton Jeanty.
Hunter's top billing comes amid his attempt to become a two-way star with the Jacksonville Jaguars after playing both receiver and cornerback at Colorado. Gamers will be able to use the 22-year-old at both positions in Madden 26.
Madden 26 rookie ratings
Hunter and Jeanty are the highest-rated offensive rookies in Madden 26, while Abdul Carter represents the top-rated defensive rookie in the game.
Below is a look at the 10 highest-rated rookies for Madden 26:
All 10 of the top-rated rookies were first-round picks. Hunter was the highest drafted on the list at No. 2 overall, while Hairston, the 30th overall pick, was the lowest.
In total, seven of the top-10 rookies primarily play on defense, while two play on offense. Hunter is the lone two-way player of the bunch.
What is Cam Ward's Madden 26 rating?
Ward is set to have a rating of 71 for his first-ever appearance in Madden. The mark is four points lower than the No. 1 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, Caleb Williams, who earned an opening mark of 76 in Madden 25.
What is Shedeur Sanders' Madden 26 rating?
Sanders' rating has not yet been revealed but is expected to eventually be released Wednesday as part of Madden's rookie ratings release. The fifth-round rookie's rating will likely be lower than that of the higher-drafted Ward.
Sanders figures to earn a similar mark to the two fifth-round quarterbacks in Madden 25: Spencer Rattler and Jordan Travis. They earned ratings of 67 and 66, respectively.

Jim Harbaugh reveals Chargers' starting offensive line for 2025 season
Head coach Jim Harbaugh has all but finalized the Chargers' starting offensive line ahead of the 2025 season. On Monday, Harbaugh identified 'the best five right now" to protect quarterback Justin Herbert, with that being Rashawn Slater at left tackle, Zion Johnson at left guard, Bradley Bozeman at center, Mekhi Becton at right guard, and Joe Alt at right tackle. This announcement provides some clarity to what had been a competition along the interior of the offensive at the center and left guard positions, with Johnson and Bozeman fighting for starting roles. Johnson, who had never played center in college or the NFL, was seen as a potential option for the position. The coaching staff asked him to work on his snapping in the offseason, and they rotated him in the spring. But in the end, Johnson played center for three padded practices and 12 snaps in the Hall of Fame Game last Thursday. While Johnson is likely going to be a mainstay at left guard, Harbaugh also mentioned that he will still see snaps at center during the upcoming preseason game against the Saints this Sunday, mentioning the team's commitment to building versatility among its offensive linemen. Johnson started all 17 regular-season games and the lone playoff game against the Texans at left guard. While he managed to stay healthy, his play wasn't inspiring. Johnson's struggles primarily came in pass protection, especially when it came to picking up stunts. Meanwhile, Bozeman started every game at center and led the team in offensive snaps with 1,057 in 2024. While he was on the field for nearly every snap, Bozeman experienced some struggles, particularly in pass protection, too. He finished with a 53.1 pass-blocking grade, which ranked 53rd out of 64 qualifying centers. With the team being content with running it back with Johnson and Bozeman at the same positions from last season, they must show improvements for the offense to be the well-oiled machine they're hoping for.

And then there were 6: Browns signing Tyler Huntley due to injuries at quarterback, AP source says
CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Browns' crowded quarterback competition will add one more due to injuries. The Browns are signing Tyler Huntley, a person close to the situation said Monday night. The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the move has not been announced. The Browns will travel to Charlotte, North Carolina, on Tuesday to take part in joint workouts with the Carolina Panthers on Wednesday and a preseason game Friday night. Huntley will become the the sixth quarterback on the Browns roster. Joe Flacco is in the lead to start the Sept. 7 opener against the Cincinnati Bengals, but faces competition from Kenny Pickett, Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders. Deshaun Watson is on the physically unable to perform list, but was listed fifth on the first depth chart released on Monday. Watson is expected to miss the entire season due to two Achilles injuries. However, the Browns are lacking healthy QBs at the moment. Pickett and Gabriel are dealing with hamstring injuries while Sanders sat out the Aug. 2 practice due to a sore arm. Pickett and Gabriel participated in individual drills Monday, but are questionable to do any team drills the rest of the week. Coach Kevin Stefanski would like to have Flacco go in the joint practice but sit him out of the preseason game. Barring any other injuries, that would make Sanders and Huntley the quarterbacks for Friday night's game. 'Injuries are a part of this game. They're frustrating from the standpoint of when you lose a guy for a good amount of time you feel, that's tough on the players. But the dealing with injuries, adjusting because injuries, that's just part of the game,' Stefanski said before Monday's practice. Huntley was with the Browns during the preseason last year, completing 37 of 51 passes for 322 yards, three touchdowns, two interceptions and a 92.1 passer rating before being released. He signed with Baltimore's practice squad before being claimed by the Miami Dolphins before Week 3. Huntley started five games for the Dolphins, including Week 17 at Cleveland when he was 22 of 26 for 225 yards and a touchdown in Miami's 20-3 victory. In five NFL seasons with Baltimore and Miami, Huntley has appeared in 25 games and made 14 starts. ___ AP NFL:
