Gold Derby's official guess for Pearl is ... Gretchen Wilson! Don't believe us? Let's examine all of the clues so far, one by one:
Here is what Pearl had to say about herself: "Just like a pearl, you've got to crack through a pretty tough exterior to find the treasure inside. The same has been said about me my whole life. Growing up, I've always loved performing, but people like me weren't promised a chance at a big break. So I took any gig I could — from discount stores to dive bars — praying that someone would find a pearl of talent within me. Eventually the world was my oyster, but I've never been able to shake that hard exterior. It's affected every aspect of my life — especially love. But, I'm a softie at heart, which is why tonight I'm embodying Aphrodite, the goddess of love. So watch out world! This pearl's breaking out of her hard shell and I hope you can see the beauty that's been hidden within all along. Oh, and I'm doing a love song by Whitney, so pray for me."
Wilson is known for being one tough lady and professed "she ain't no high class broad" in her breakout single "Redneck Woman" in 2004. Before making it big, she'd perform at Walmart and various dive bars hoping to be discovered. The singer has also been unlucky in love. Never married, Wilson has one daughter named Grace with her ex-boyfriend Mike Penner.

On-screen hints during Pearl's video package included the following: boats in a marina, a baseball, a pink umbrella, and a bowl of cherries. Wilson sang the national anthem at the World Series in 2004 and she's a huge baseball fan. She even recorded a version of "Take Me Out to the Ball Game" for ESPN. The umbrella may be a reference to multiple songs Wilson has recorded like "When It Rains" and "Raining on Me." Those cherries are a clue about her feature on the Buckcherry song "The Feeling Never Dies."
Following her performance of "Saving All My Love for You," Pearl said, "I can tell you that I've never dressed this fancy before. Usually when I'm on the red carpet and they ask me what I'm wearing I just say, 'I got it on sale.'" Wilson has been vocal about shopping at Walmart and having little interest in designer clothes. The tiara on her costume may even be a physical clue referencing her most recent release, "Little Miss Runner Up."

Walmart (WMT) Chases $360B Gen Z Spend With New Immersive Online Stores
U.S. retail giant Walmart (WMT) is making its pitch to attract more younger customers by launching new immersive online storefronts. Elevate Your Investing Strategy: Take advantage of TipRanks Premium at 50% off! Unlock powerful investing tools, advanced data, and expert analyst insights to help you invest with confidence. The shopfronts are part of its Walmart Realm initiative aimed at capturing the attention of Generation Z and Alpha youngsters. Virtual Reality It was launched in 2024 to produce virtual reality-inspired environments, influencer curation and gamified experiences to make the experience of shopping online more interactive. 'Walmart Realm connected millions of younger shoppers with creator-curated products, interactive mini-games, and trend-driven storytelling through this emerging medium,' said Justin Breton, head of brand partnerships and emerging experiences at Walmart. He added that the immersive storefronts included the 'vibrant K-POP Era, followed by Lo-Fi Playing, Rodeo Dreams, Nature Breaks, and Group Woosah.' To some people these might sound like a selection of Country and Western albums from the 1980s, but not it is hoped for those under the age of 30. The names are associated with different themes of online stores, with K-POP Era, for example, focused on K-Pop fans with features including exclusive merchandise, interactive mini-games, and products curated by creators related to K-pop aesthetics. Walmart Delivers The move supports Walmart Delivers, the mobile pop-up stores, which include photo booths, customizable giveaways, and interactive zones. As an example of this, on 2 September, the Walmart Delivers K-POP pop-up will be at the BABYMONSTER concert in Chicago. It also comes as Walmart announced in its Q1 results that it had achieved profitability in its eCommerce business on both a U.S. and global enterprise basis. Generation Z is quite the target for Walmart given that it commands more than $360 billion in spending power in the U.S. alone. According to Walmart's data, 47% of Gen Z are engaging in immersive digital experiences, with 70% of younger consumers preferring fun shopping experiences. This fits into one of Walmart's key risks, which is the ability to sell its products to customers, including those from a range of backgrounds and ages. 'We are transforming us into a go-to destination for premium, trend-driven products that meet customers where they are,' Breton continued. 'And no matter what they're into… We get it, we have it, and we can deliver it. Who knew?' Is WMT a Good Stock to Buy Now? On TipRanks, WMT has a Strong Buy consensus based on 29 Buy ratings. Its highest price target is $130. WMT stock's consensus price target is $112.15, implying a 7.7% upside.

Vince McMahon featured in trailer for Hulk Hogan TV special
Since Vince McMahon resigned from all of his roles at TKO and WWE in the wake of former girlfriend Janel Grant's alleging in an ongoing civil lawsuit that he abused and trafficked her, he's only appeared in public a handful of times. The novelty of those appearances has made them items of interest, especially for pro wrestling fans online. Which is the main reason we're sharing this trailer for the TMZ-produced special on Hulk Hogan which is airing on FOX tonight (Aug. 12) at 8 p.m. Eastern. In it, McMahon — who has denied all of Grant's allegations as he and WWE contest her suit — sits for an interview. He's apparently at the offices of his new private investment firm 14th & I. The 79-year-old appears along with Sylvester Stallone, Goldberg, Mark Henry, Charlotte Flair and TMZ's Harvey Levin. After Levin covers Hogan being booed in his final appearance on Raw back in January, the clip is edited so that we hear McMahon say, 'I was angry. He deserved much more.' Here's the trailer for TMZ Presents: The Real Hulk Hogan, shared by one of the special's producers: The last recorded interviews with Vince were done in 2021, and filmed for Netflix's Mr. McMahon docuseries. Hogan died last month at age 71. McMahon memorialized him in a social media statement shortly after the most famous pro wrestler of all-time died on July 24. Solve the daily Crossword
