Tripura CM Saha attends prize distribution ceremony of B-division football tournament
As a reflection of this progress, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Monday graced the prize distribution ceremony of the Hotel Sonar Tori B-Division Football Tournament.
The event was held at the synthetic football ground of Umakanta Mini Stadium in Agartala, where players and sports enthusiasts gathered in high spirits to celebrate the tournament's success.
Speaking at the event, the Chief Minister highlighted the government's commitment to promoting sports infrastructure and nurturing young talent in Tripura. He also encouraged the youth to actively participate in sports as a means of building discipline, teamwork, and a healthy lifestyle.
The tournament, which witnessed spirited participation from local football clubs, was appreciated by attendees as a step forward in fostering a vibrant sporting culture in the state.
Earlier on Sunday morning, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha reached out to the people of Agartala, distributing informative leaflets and interacting with citizens to highlight the government's achievements under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
CM Saha emphasised that the past 11 years have been dedicated to serving the people, particularly the poor and marginalised, through the ambitious Garib Kalyan initiatives. He outlined key milestones achieved by the BJP government, including the historic abrogation of Articles 370 and 35A, which brought complete constitutional integration of Jammu and Kashmir with the rest of India.
He further praised the tremendous progress in infrastructure, especially in enhancing air, rail, and road connectivity, which has boosted economic activities and business prospects across the country. The implementation of various welfare schemes, restoration of peace and security, and overall national development were also highlighted as hallmarks of the BJP's good governance.
The day also marked the 125th birth anniversary of Syama Prasad Mookerjee, the founder of Bharatiya Jana Sangh, whose supreme sacrifice for national integration was remembered with deep reverence. CM Saha paid heartfelt tribute to Dr Mookerjee and acknowledged his enduring legacy in the nation's democratic and political journey. (ANI)

India to boost rare earth magnet production to counter China's supply curbs: G Kishan Reddy
Union Minister for Coal and Mines G Kishan Reddy on Saturday said that the Central Government has decided to begin the production of rare earth magnets in Hyderabad, as part of its broader push for self-reliance in critical technologies. Speaking to ANI, the minister said, "The Central Government has decided to produce rare earth magnets in Hyderabad. Our Mining Ministry's NFTSM institute is working diligently, along with various industries, to manufacture the necessary machinery." Reddy further added that the government will soon showcase its capabilities in manufacturing permanent magnets."Within the next 3-4 months, they will showcase their efforts in manufacturing permanent magnets. This initiative involves collaboration between the industry, mining, and other ministries, and has been discussed with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Central Government is working seriously towards the production of rare earth magnets," he said. Highlighting India's shift in sourcing strategy, the minister noted that India was previously entirely dependent on China for rare-earth permanent magnets. "We were 100 per cent dependent on China for rare earth permanent magnets, but recently China denied supplying to us," Reddy said. China had announced in April 2024 that it would impose export controls on certain rare earth-related items, triggering a global supply shortage, including in India. In the light of rare earth magnet production, on Friday, Pankaj Mohindroo, Chairman of India Cellular and Electronics Association (ICEA), welcomed the central government initiatives to ramp up rare earth magnet production in India, particularly the incentives the latter is earmarking for. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced the setting up of the Critical Mineral Mission in the Union Budget for 2024-25 on July 23, 2024. The Union Cabinet in January 2025 approved the launch of the National Critical Mineral Mission (NCMM) with an expenditure of Rs 16,300 crore and an expected investment of Rs 18,000 crore by Public Sector Undertakings.

Amit shah says BJP will form government in kerala after 2026 election and urges workers to win local body polls

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Union Home Minister Amit Shah said here on Saturday that the presence of the BJP has significantly improved in Kerala and that the party would form the govt in the state after the 2026 assembly election. Shah urged party workers to work hard so that the NDA wins over 20,000 seats in the upcoming local body elections by improving the vote share to 25 percent. Addressing party workers at the ward-level leadership meet at Putharikandam Maidan, Shah stated that the BJP has established its presence in all booths in Kerala. "All should work hard to win 21,000 seats and 25 percent votes in the local body election. If people in Kerala want development, they have only one choice, that is the BJP. People should stop the earlier practice of voting against the LDF and UDF in turns," Shah said. He said the vote share of BJP was 11 percent in 2014 and it increased to 16 per cent in 2019 and it touched 20 percent in 2024 Lok Sabha election. Amit Shah mentioned that both the LDF and UDF had their own share of corruption whenever they came to power. "A developed India is not possible unless South Indian states develop. Also. the developement of Kerala is not possible without BJP," Shah said, adding that the BJP would wrest power in Tamil Nadu in the upcoming assembly election. Amit Shah asserted that the BJP was not a North Indian party as claimed by political opponents. The BJP has won and formed the govt in Assam. The BJP has wrested power from the CPM in Tripura. It also came to power in Odisha. "Opponents always used to dismiss the BJP's efforts to form the govt in these states. But the BJP proved them wrong. After the 2026 assembly election, the BJP-led NDA would form the govt in Kerala too," Amit Shah said. Amit Shah, who accused the LDF and UDF of practicing communal and appeasement politics, said the CPM-led LDF govt in Kerala did nothing to stop the emergence of the PFI as an anti national force. "It was the Narendra Modi govt that banned the PFI when it started spreading its presence in other states, posing threat to the country. This PFI is still alive in Kerala in different forms. The CPM should clarify what action the LDF govt has taken against this communal terror group," he said. Shah stated that the BJP considers the welfare of the country above the welfare of its own cadres, but for the CPM, the focus was always on the welfare of their own cadres. Shah said Kerala was reduced to a hub of corruption, appeasement, violence, and anti-national activities under the successive rule of the LDF and UDF. Narendra Modi declared adherence to three principles: corruption-free governance, non-discriminatory governance, and the end of vote-bank politics. Kerala too can move ahead on the path of development only by adhering to the principles to which Modi and his govt adhere, Shah said. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday (July 12, 2025) claimed attempts were being made to drive a wedge between the Hindus and Sikhs, and urged the people to be wary of such actions. He also claimed that the now-behind bars, Chhangur Baba of Balrampur, had fixed rates for religious conversions, leading to transactions to the tune of ₹100 crore. Mr. Adityanath made the remarks at the flagging-off of U.P.-Delhi Balidan Sandesh Yatra, being held to mark the 350th martyrdom day of Guru Teg Bahadur. He said that some cases of conversion have come to the fore in Pilibhit also, and asked the people to be a "little cautious" of religious conversions. "You must have seen what kind of conspiracy is going on. We have recently taken a big action in Balrampur. You must have seen that he had fixed the rates. That is, how to take forward the programme of conversion. He had fixed the rates for converting Hindus, Brahmins, Kshatriyas, Sikhs, other OBC castes, Scheduled Castes and (Scheduled) Tribes. Anti-Terrorism Squad on July 6 arrested Jalaluddin alias Chhangur Baba and Neetu alias Nasreen, both natives of Madhpur in Balrampur district, for allegedly running a massive conversion racket. The Enforcement Directorate on Thursday (July 10, 2025) said it had found inputs that suggested that the man amassed funds worth about ₹106 crore, mainly from the Middle East, in 40 bank accounts linked to him and his associates, agency sources said. At the event, Mr. Adityanath paid his tributes to the Sikh gurus and hailed them for their sacrifice. "Circumstances have changed. Their objective is the same as it was at that time. Yes, they have changed their way of working. And this event is inspiring all of us for the purpose for which the Sikh Gurus had sacrificed their lives," he said. "Remember that many people will try to create divisions between Hindus and Sikhs … There is a conspiracy among us to divide us and weaken us. Who will save us from this? We will have to be cautious," the BJP leader said. Mr. Adityanath also mentioned Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb and denounced him for his atrocities. "What a time it must have been when there was a cruel and brutal ruler like Aurangzeb. At that time, news of atrocities came from not just one place but from everywhere," he said. He said the ruler started a massive campaign of Islamisation, which was challenged by Guru Teg Bahadur Ji Maharaj. "And what atrocities were not committed on him," he said.
