'Grand Theft Auto IV' Remaster Reportedly Hitting The Streets Later This Year
Grand Theft Auto VI might have been delayed to May next year, but new rumours suggest that Rockstar Games is gearing up for a remastered port of 2008's Grand Theft Auto IV , and that it could be released as early as this year.
The latest rumours come from known Rockstar insider Tez2, who wrote on the GTA forums that someone at the studio had 'hinted' at a GTA 4 port. 'By now it should've gone up a year in development,' the insider added, 'We may end up seeing it drop later this year.'
According to Tez2, the port was one of the reasons why Rockstar took down the Liberty City Preservation Project earlier this year, a fan-made mod which would have added a playable version of GTA 4's map into GTA 5 . The insider also hinted that a port of 2012's Max Payne 3 was also in the works, and would release after the GTA 4 remaster, writing that 'If [Rockstar follows] their plan laid out from the pandemic days, they'll do an MP3 port after IV . So that is an opportunity to do a bundle or a Definitive Edition. Max Payne 1 & 2 remakes, and a Max Payne 3 port.'
As always, these rumours should be taken with a pinch of salt, although they do make sense considering Grand Theft Auto IV is set in Liberty City, which is also where Grand Theft Auto VI protagonist Lucia Caminos is from, so releasing a port before release not only serves as a good way to tide fans over while they wait, but also introduce some links between the two games.
For now, all fans can do is wait for official confirmation from Rockstar on the rumoured remaster. In the meantime, its next mainline entry, Grand Theft Auto VI , is due out on 26 May 2026 for the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, and has recently received its second trailer alongside more details on its characters and world.

Mark Hamill Retires From Luke Skywalker, Won't Return For Future 'Star Wars' Movies
It appears that Mark Hamill may be done with the Star Wars franchise, as the actor who played Luke Skywalker has announced his retirement from the character, ruling out his return to the universe and suggesting that the franchise should look towards the future instead of being stuck in the past. This comes after an interview with ComicBook, where Hamill talked about his upcoming movie, The Life of Chuck . 'I am so grateful to [George Lucas] for letting me be a part of that back in the day, the humble days when George called Star Wars 'the most expensive low-budget movie ever made,'' Hamill replied when asked about his potential return as a Force ghost in the upcoming Rey-led Star Wars film, New Jedi Order . 'We never expected it to become a permanent franchise and a part of pop culture like that. But my deal is, I had my time. I'm appreciative of that, but I really think they should focus on the future and all the new characters. And by the way, when I disappeared in [ The Last Jedi ], I left my robes behind. And there's no way I'm gonna appear as a naked Force ghost.' Hamill's answer seems loud and clear, The Last Jedi might be the last fans see of Luke Skywalker in any form. True to his suggestion, the franchise is placing the spotlight on Daisy Ridley's Ray, who is set to return for New Jedi Order , the Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy-directed sequel to 2019's Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker , which will centre on Ray as she rebuilds the Jedi order and is set 15 years after the preceding movie. Looking towards the future of the franchise, Disney has three films in its release pipeline: Two set in 2026 on 22 May and 18 December, and one on 17 December 2027. 'Karate Kid: Legends' Chops Off US$47 Million Global Opening, Falls Behind Lilo & Stitch's Second Weekend
It's a soft start for Karate Kid: Legends , as it takes a swing at the box office with a US$47 million global opening haul, falling slightly behind expectations. Sony's sequel to the 2010 reboot, starring Jaden Smith and Jackie Chan, aimed for US$25 million at the domestic market but now stands at US$21 million from 3,809 North American venues. Still, the worldwide haul has already managed to recover its modest reported budget of US$45 million. The sixth feature-length instalment in the franchise scored an A- grade on CinemaScore despite middling reviews on Rotten Tomatoes, and marks the franchise's first new theatrical feature in 15 years. In it, Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio, The Outsiders ) from the 1984 original reunites with The Karate Kid 's Mr. Han, played by Chan, with newcomer Ben Wang ( American Born Chinese ) stepping into the titular role. The long-running martial arts series enjoyed renewed interest from the Cobra Kai spin-off sequel, which concluded after six seasons. Karate Kid: Legends picks up three years after the latter's finale, helmed by debutante Jonathan Entwistle. Overall, the film opened at No. 3 and was beaten by Lilo & Stitch and Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning , with Disney's live-action adaptation of the animated classic generating US$610 million globally after two weekends. The Tom Cruise-led action flick is in second place, amassing US$353.8 million worldwide to date. As for the larger Karate Kid franchise, a total of US$650 million was earned at the global box office (not adjusted for inflation), and US$359 million came from the 2010 reboot. The synopsis for Legends reads: 'After moving to New York City with his mother, kung fu prodigy Li Fong struggles to let go of the past as he tries to fit in with his new classmates. When a new friend needs his help, Li enters a karate competition — but his skills alone aren't enough. With help from Mr. Han and Daniel LaRusso, he soon learns to merge two styles into one for the ultimate martial arts showdown.' 'Deadpool' Director Wants To Helm 'X-Men' Movie
Almost 10 years after his debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) with the critically acclaimed 2016 anti-hero blockbuster Deadpool , director Tim Miller is ready to return to the superhero feature film scene, with ambitious goals to helm the MCU's X-Men movie. This comes after his stint making two acclaimed adult animated anthology series: Netflix's Love, Death & Robots and Amazon Prime Video's Secret Level , with the director hoping to help shake up the superhero genre once again, like he did with Deadpool . Deadpool (2016) 'I think that Marvel has this secret weapon they haven't been able to unveil yet, which is the whole X-Men universe, which is what got me into comics.' Miller explained during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, 'The X-Men are my favourite characters. I wrote Kevin Feige, and I'm like, 'If there was ever anything that you would let me do in the Marvel Universe, please, the X-Men would be it.'' Miller would definitely be a good fit for the X-Men universe, too, as he was previously developing a film based on the X-Men #143 comic at Fox before its merger with Disney ended the plans, a film which, according to Miller, would have been ' Home Alone meets Alien '. X-Men: Apocalypse (2016) His ambitions aren't limited to the MCU either, as Miller also has plans to enter the DC universe. 'If DC ever gets around to doing The Authority, that's my favourite comic ever — it's the Justice League if they killed people. I think there's a lot of room left, a lot of different stories to tell,' he added. In any case, Miller has no plans to slow down and is more than ready to continue making feature films for years to come. 'I've got to be the luckiest nerd on the planet. I have nothing to complain about… I didn't expect to have my own studio. I didn't expect to do a feature, much less one that would be successful as Deadpool … and then to be able to do Love Death + Robots, which is probably my achievement I'm most proud of. Also, I'm old — but I'm not done yet.' Kevin is a reformed PC Master Race gamer with a penchant for franchise 'duds' like Darksiders III and Dead Space 3 .
