Strictly's Stacey Dooley warns 'they'll take me from you' after daughter drama
Stacey Dooley was forced to deliver an ultimatum to her daughter Minnie following "a couple of meltdowns" from the two-year-old before heading into London promote her West End play. The former Strictly Come Dancing winner and her partner Kevin Clifton, who first met after claiming the Glitterball Trophy in 2018, were scheduled to feature on Zoe Ball's BBC Radio 2 programme over the weekend to discuss their nationwide tour of 2:22: A Ghost Story.
Unfortunately, the day got off to a rocky start with Zoe informing her audience that her guests had endured "a dramatic morning", resulting in "lots of people running around" backstage attempting to sort out the chaos before broadcast.
As she introduced the pair to her show, Zoe revealed: "I am thrilled to say that they've just about made it. But it's been a dramatic morning for our guests today, an awful lot has happened, but they're here now, it's Dooley and Clifton!"
After being introduced into the show, Stacey spoke frankly about the chaos the family of three had experienced in their rush to reach Broadcasting House. The documentary maker confessed: "I've just been painfully predictable this morning."
The trouble began when Minnie refused to take a shower, with Stacey admitting she was forced to give her daughter an ultimatum, as her face was smeared with food. She said: "We've had a couple of meltdowns at about 8 o'clock this morning, which was really fun, and then we didn't want to shower, 'I don't want a morning shower', and I said, 'You've got ravioli around your face, baby! They'll take me off you!'"
The excitement continued as Stacey, Kevin and Minnie reached the Radio 2 studios, where she "got stuck" while attempting to reach Zoe's radio studio.
Stacey went on: "And then I got stuck in the stair lift, and your amazing producer came to save me," prompting Zoe to tell Kevin: "There was lots of people running around past the glass Kev, and I was like, 'What's going down?'"
Kevin shared his perspective, saying: "They were all looking for Stacey's phone because she lost her phone downstairs, and, as we know, Stace will not get in a lift and we're, like, on the top floor of the building here.
"So they had to find some secret passage to get Stacey up the stairs. It's been a real journey to get here."
Stacey playfully interrupted with a quip: "I'm no hassle! I'm no hassle," leading Zoe to jest: "You knew this when you got involved, Kev! You knew what you were getting involved in!"
Kevin chuckled and concluded: "Yeah, I've got these two manic redheads who are making my life really dramatic!"
2:22 – A Ghost Story is set to be the first project that reunites Stacey and Kevin since their dazzling days on Strictly, as they step into the characters of Jenny and Sam in this spine-chilling play, reports Wales Online.
He took to Instagram to announce their collaboration with a snap of the duo, captioning it: "Day 1 back working with this little fella again. Last time was 7 years ago @sjdooley @222aghoststory."

Strictly pro dancers dubbed themselves ‘International Men of Mystery' after ‘swinging antics' at wild after-show parties

The 'IMOM' moniker, which they came up with themselves, is almost laughable. But knowing the men involved in this group as I do, I can tell you they've got more front than Harrods - and would have revelled in their self-created grandeur. James Whale's last social media post with touching message to fans days before death
TalkTV star, James Whale, has sadly died, with his wife, Nadine, sharing the heartbreaking news James Whale left a poignant post on social media before his sad death today. The veteran broadcaster has died, aged 74, after a long battle with cancer. James released his final podcast with his wife, Nadine, just days before died and on July 28, he posted a link to his final newspaper column in which he thanked fans for their tributes as he lived out the 'last of his days'. Sharing a photo of himself and his wife on X, he wrote: "Thank you for all your kind messages," with a emoji of a whale. The TalkTV star was moved into a hospice recently as he told fans he'd come to the 'end of his cancer journey'. It comes as it was confirmed that James has sadly died today with his beloved wife by his side. Issuing a fresh health update for the presenter on GB News, Eamonn explained how James' illness is now impacting his vocal chords, making it hard for him to communicate with his loved ones. Speaking on his GB News show today, Eamonn said: "A friend of ours James Whale, who I have been to see, is nearing the end of his life maybe this week". As his guest Christopher Biggins revealed that the pair went to visit James at the hospice over the weekend, the former Strictly star said: "We went on Saturday to see him, and he looks terrific, I have to say, and it was great to see him but it's his voice that's the trouble. "The irony of being a journalist and using his voice on the radio brilliantly over the years, but now his voice is going." Giving viewers an insight into what James' care facility is like after he made the move to a hospice this week, Christopher added: "What was so wonderful is the hospice that he's staying in, which I think needs something like £12million a year or something to survive, it was just wonderful." The host had remained committed in sharing updates with his fans as he carried on his podcast, Tales of the Whales alongside his wife Nadine. On the final, emotional episode posted on Saturday, August 2, recorded after half a century as a broadcaster, James issuing a six-word statement to listeners. The radio star has been battling cancer for the past five years and has been dealing with 20 tumours throughout his body, including in his brain, spine, and lungs. Doctors recently informed James he has just weeks left to live, leaving his friends, family, and fans heartbroken. A touching clip from the columnist's last podcast was recently shared on TalkTV, with the journalist summoning the strength to say to his wife Nadine, "We've had a good time together, haven't we?" A supportive Nadine, who was next to him while the episode was being recorded, replied: "The best," before James whispered the words "I love you" to her. Clearly emotional, Nadine said: "I love you too. Shall we sign off on the podcast now?" His wife Nadine confirmed the news of James' passing on Monday, telling the Express: 'James slipped away very gently this morning. It was a beautiful passing and he left with a smile on his face.'
