‘Video dikhao': Social media demands evidence of the attack as BJP claims Delhi CM Rekha Gupta got slapped
Meanwhile, no video of the alleged attack has been publicly released yet. Social media users now demand video evidence to prove that it actually happened.

'Video or it didn't happen,' wrote one social media user.
'Those people who once mocked others for chasing footage have now themselves become the footage. Maybe they won't even let these videos come out,' commented another user.
'Video dikhao, mai nahi manta (show the video, else I won't believe it).' came from another.
Another user referred to a similar incident with Arvind Kejriwal.
The former Delhi chief minister faced many public attacks during his political career. The most talked-about incident happened on May 4, 2019, during a roadshow in Moti Nagar.
A man climbed onto his open vehicle and slapped him in front of the crowd. Police caught the attacker quickly. Kejriwal was also attacked with ink, eggs and shoes at rallies.
'AK at least accepted it with video in public,' wrote one user while referring to the slapping incident.
Some users referred to the Delhi CM's earlier comment on comedian Kunal Kamra coming to the capital to perform. 'Come at your own risk in Delhi,' she said.
Some netizens are now using that 'warning' as an ironic statement to indicate that nobody is safe in Delhi.
'No woman (even CM) is safe in that sh*thole,' posted a frustrated user.
After the attack, the Delhi chief minister was taken to the hospital. But, her condition is stable after being checked by doctors, ANI reported.
BJP state chief Virendraa Sachdeva called Gupta 'strong' and informed that she had not cancelled her programmes. Delhi Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa condemned the attack, calling it a 'conspiracy' by political rivals. Minister Kapil Mishra described it as 'cowardly'. He added that the Delhi government would neither 'bow' nor 'stop' its work for the capital's development.

‘Worked for animal welfare': Man who attacked Delhi CM Rekha Gupta visited Ayodhya, loves monkeys
The man accused of assaulting Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta during a Jan Sunwai at her camp office Wednesday recently visited Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh due to his love for monkeys, according to sources. The sources said Rajeshbhai Khimjibhai Sakriya told the Delhi Police during interrogation that after the inauguration of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya last year, the administration launched a campaign to remove monkeys from the temple premises. They said Sakriya told the police that he travelled from his hometown, Rajkot in Gujarat, to Ayodhya earlier this year, offered prayers at the temple, and fed the monkeys. The sources added that he told the police that he spent some time with the monkeys before leaving the city. The Delhi Police will contact their counterparts in Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat to verify his travel history to these places, the sources added. The police said Sakriya also told them he had staged a protest earlier this year in Khodaldham, Rajkot, for the welfare of stray cattle. 'During interrogation, he revealed that he is an animal lover and has worked in several places across Gujarat and other parts of the country for animal welfare,' an officer, privy to the probe, said. Sakriya's mother, Bhanu Khimjibhai Sakriya, told reporters in Rajkot that her son was a dog lover and was upset over the Supreme Court order directing authorities in Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) to pick up all stray dogs and put them in shelters. The police have said Sakriya attacked Rekha Gupta, allegedly over a video clip in which she can be heard speaking about stray dogs. Before attacking Rekha Gupta, while she was holding a public meeting at her camp office, he also talked about the issue, the officer said. The police said the actual cause of the attack is yet to be ascertained, as they are still interrogating him. According to police records, Sakriya has been booked in five cases of assault, and creating a ruckus under the influence of alcohol in Gujarat.

Tunnel vs surface road: Land needed is same, say experts
Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar's recent reply to BJP MLC CT Ravi revealed that 32.29 hectares (79.79 acres) of land will be acquired for the proposed 16.7-km Tunnel Road Project (TRP) between Hebbal and Silk Board. An expert analysis has compared this land requirement with the length of regular surface roads that could be built using the same area. Explaining the comparison, Rajkumar Dugar, founder of Citizens for Citizens, said the land to be acquired for the tunnel road could instead be used to construct 16.1 km of a two-way, two-lane road with a median and footpaths, or 11.5km of a 3+3 lane road with median and footpaths. Questioning the logic, Dugar said, 'With 80 acres to be acquired for this project, the very basis for taking it up, because land required for regular surface roads is huge, turns out to be hollow. Eight entry and 8 exit ramps of average 1.1km length each, as well as massive ventilator shafts, will need a lot of land. So, why should we opt for the 16km Tunnel Road Project, which needs land that can accommodate a 16km two-lane or an 11.5km six-lane road?' Instead, the focus must shift fully to completing infra projects languishing for years, improving drainage, footpaths and existing roads, along with quick and drastic improvements to the three modes of public transport -- bus, metro and rail, he said. Another independent mobility expert, Satya Arikutharam, highlighting what the acquired land will be used for, said, 'The land acquisition is primarily for shaft locations, which is planned to become commercial complexes after completing the tunnelling. Basically, public investment for private profits. Indeed, it is a modified Build-Own-Operate-Transfer (BOOT) model.' The proposed North-South tunnel road corridor from Hebbal to Central Silk Board, a pet project of Shivakumar, who also holds the Bengaluru Development portfolio, is aimed at easing traffic congestion in Bengaluru. The project intends to divert vehicles underground, thereby reducing the burden on surface roads. The corridor is expected to significantly cut travel time and streamline vehicular movement across the city's busiest stretches. It is positioned as a major infrastructure initiative to tackle Bengaluru's long-standing traffic woes.
