He was addressing a gathering after laying the foundation stone for the new bus stand at an estimated cost of Rs 5.50 crore under the Kakatiya Thermal Power Station (KTPP)'s CSR initiative in Chelpur of Jayashankar Bhupalpally district on Monday. Mr. Reddy said that special focus is being laid to foster the spirit of entrepreneurship among women through skill development and training to enable them to achieve financial independence.
The women self-help groups (SHGs)-led businesses expanded manifold under the Congress government. Women SHGs are treading the path of financial independence by leasing out buses to the TGSRTC, running petrol bunks, paddy procurement centres, mahila canteens among other businesses across diverse sectors, he said.
He added that the disbursement of interest-free loans to women SHGs and other financial inclusion initiatives are a testament to the Congress government's commitment to the economic empowerment of women.
Earlier, the ministers inaugurated the new police station building in the mandal headquarters of Gori Kothapally and a skill development training centre under the aegis of the Telangana Academy for Skill and Knowledge (TASK) in Bhupalpally town.

Union minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Monday accused the Congress and its leader P Chidambaram of "speaking the same language" as used by Pakistan and claimed that the Opposition was "running away" from a discussion in Parliament on Operation Sindoor out of fear of being unmasked. Speaking to reporters inside the Parliament complex, he said when the government is ready to discuss the issue then why is the Opposition running away from it. The Lok Sabha was adjourned till 2 pm on Monday amid opposition protests on the revision of electoral rolls in Bihar, delaying the start of the discussion on Operation Sindoor. A political row erupted on Monday over Chidambaram's reported remarks that the terrorists behind the Pahalgam could have been "homegrown". "It was their demand only that a discussion should be held on Operation Sindoor. And, when the government is ready for discussion, why is it running away from it? Thakur said this was not the first time that Congress leaders have demanded evidence from the Indian Army while attempting to "absolve Pakistan in advance". "The country will not give dossiers anymore, it will give doses. We will not give proof, we will give coffins to terrorists," the Hamirpur MP said. Thakur said those who once promoted an anti-India narrative could not face the Indian Army during the operation, in a reference to Pakistan. "This mindset of placing doubt on our soldiers while shielding Pakistan shows the Congress' low thinking and anti-national attitude," he alleged. BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj said Chidambaram's comments were "deeply shameful", especially given his stature as a former home minister. The Department of Telecom (DoT) has issued a 'show-cause-cum-demand notice' to Tata Communications, seeking approximately Rs 7,800 crore in adjusted gross revenue (AGR) dues, according to an official company note. The demand pertains to AGR liabilities spanning the period from 2005-06 to 2023-24, as outlined in the note dated July 17. Tata Communications On Notice Over AGR dues 'As at June 30, 2025, the company has received 'Show Cause-cum Demand Notices' ('demand notices') from Department of Telecommunications of India aggregating to Rs 7,827.55 crore for financial years ranging from FY 2005-06 to FY 2023-24, which have been revised over a period of time,' Tata Communications Managing Director AS Lakshminarayan said. He said the demand notices include Rs 276.68 crore towards disallowance of deductions claimed by the company on payment basis for the financial year (FY) 2010-11 under ISP (internet service provider) licence and FY07 and FY10 under NLD (national long distance) licence. Tata Communications has existing appeals relating to its ILD (International Long Distance), NLD, and ISP licences that were filed in the past and are pending at the Supreme Court and telecom tribunal TDSAT. Lakshminarayan said the company's appeals are not covered by the apex court judgement dated October 24, 2019, on AGR under the old telecom licence regime called UASL. 'Further, the company believes that all its licences are different from UASL, which was the subject matter of Hon'ble Supreme Court judgement of October 24, 2019. The company, based on its assessment and independent legal opinions, believes that it will be able to defend its position,' Lakshminarayan said. What Is AGR Dues Matter Of Telecom Operators? As per initial calculation by the government, telecom operators had liability to pay around Rs 1.65 lakh crore in total AGR dues till FY19. The calculation as of March 2022 showed that the AGR liability on Bharti Airtel was Rs 31,280 crore, Vodafone Idea Rs 59,236.63 crore, Reliance Jio Rs 631 crore, BSNL Rs 16,224 crore, MTNL Rs 5,009.1 crore up to financial year 2018-19.
