
17-yr-old rams SUV into vehicles in Ahmedabad, one dead
The accident occurred near the Sardar Patel Memorial in Shahibaug on Tuesday morning. The Division F traffic police station arrested the minor's father for allowing a minor to drive a vehicle.
An FIR was filed by the deceased's brother-in-law. The complaint states that the accused was speeding in a black SUV, which struck the victim's two-wheeler from behind before crashing into a stationary rickshaw nearby. The victim, a salesman from Asarwa, suffered severe head injuries and died on the spot, while the 38-year-old rickshaw driver suffered serious injuries to his leg and is undergoing treatment at the Civil Hospital.
The Division F traffic police station booked the minor and his father under Sections 105 (culpable homicide), 281 (negligent driving), 125(a), (b) (causing grievous hurt) and 324(4) (criminal mischief) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). They were also booked under Sections 177 (general offence), 184 (dangerous driving), 181 (driving without a licence) of the Motor Vehicles Act. The teen's father was also booked under Section 199A(1) (allowing an unauthorised person to drive) of the MV Act.
Further investigation is underway.

"The previous government did not do anything to regulate school fees. It spoke about the issue but nothing was done. We will introduce a bill to regulate school fees," she said.

Over 500 drunk driving cases booked during weekend crackdown by Cyberabad traffic police
The Cyberabad Traffic Police booked a total of 527 individuals for drunk driving during a weekend special drive carried out across its limits. The majority of the offenders, 404, were found riding two-wheelers under the influence of alcohol, followed by 93 four-wheeler drivers, 24 in three-wheelers, and 6 operating heavy vehicles. The enforcement, conducted across various traffic police stations in Cyberabad, recorded the highest number of cases at KPHB with 64 bookings, followed by Miyapur (50) and Shamshabad (50), Chevella (44), and Gachibowli (39). Police personnel from 15 police stations were involved in the operation. Offenders were also categorised by their Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) levels. A total of 456 individuals had BAC levels between 51 and 200 mg/100 ml. Another 47 had levels ranging from 201 to 300 mg/100 ml, and 24 individuals were found with dangerously high BAC levels above 300 mg/100 ml. Cyberabad Police stated that all the accused will be produced before the court. The department warned that in cases where inebriated driving results in a fatal accident, offenders will be booked under Section 105 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 (Culpable Homicide Not Amounting to Murder), which carries a maximum punishment of 10 years' imprisonment and fine.
