Actress Kelley Mack, best known for her portrayal of Addy in season nine of AMC's The Walking Dead, has died aged 33 in her hometown of Cincinnati following a battle with glioma of the central nervous system.
Mack, who worked extensively in television, film, and advertising, also appeared in episodes of 9-1-1 and Chicago Med, and featured in national commercials for Dr Pepper, Budweiser, Rakuten, and others.
She lent her voice as a match for Hailee Steinfeld's Gwen Stacy in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and reprised the character in a 2024 Hyundai Ioniq commercial. Her film credits include Broadcast Signal Intrusion, Delicate Arch, and the upcoming Universal, where she also served as executive producer.
Born Kelley Lynne Klebenow on July 10, 1992, she was raised in multiple US states and later earned a cinematography degree from Chapman University. An early interest in storytelling emerged when she received a mini video camera as a child. She later acted in The Elephant Garden, a short film awarded at the Tribeca Film Festival.
Mack co-wrote feature scripts with her mother and was passionate about tennis, hiking, fantasy football, and country music. Her family described her as having a 'vibrant spirit' and a lasting impact through her creative work.
She is survived by her parents, siblings, grandparents, and boyfriend Logan. A public remembrance is scheduled for August 16 in Ohio, with a second planned in Los Angeles.

Marvel announces Inhyuk Lee's Street-Verse Variants reimagining heroes in techwear style

Marvel has announced a new collection of Street-Verse Variant Covers by best-selling artist Inhyuk Lee, reimagining some of its most recognisable characters in futuristic, techwear-inspired designs. The series will be released this November, coinciding with the launch of a yet-to-be-announced title. Unveiled to retailers during San Diego Comic-Con, the collection will feature heroes such as Spider-Man, the Avengers, the X-Men, the Fantastic Four, and Doctor Doom. Lee, known for his digital artistry and fashion-influenced work, combines superhero iconography with functional, modern styling. 'I was honoured to create the Street-Verse Variant Covers for Marvel,' Lee said. 'I started my career as a character designer at a game company 20 years ago, so I'm familiar with and enjoy designing characters. I've been working on a personal project since the winter of 2021, redesigning Spider-Man characters' costumes in a modernised way, which I called 'Who is next?'. Marvel saw the series and approached me with this cover and mural project.' Now in his 13th year collaborating with Marvel, Lee noted that the publisher understands his strengths and vision. This project marks a continuation of Marvel's collaborations with prominent artists to reinterpret its characters for modern audiences, merging comic tradition with contemporary design trends.

Zendaya returns as MJ in new photos of 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' alongside fiance Tom Holland

Marvel fans have been given their first look at Zendaya back in the role of MJ for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, thanks to new set photos from the upcoming Phase 6 film. The images mark her return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe after the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home. Filming for Brand New Day began in early August, with Tom Holland the only cast member seen on set until now. The newly surfaced shots feature MJ and Peter Parker visiting Aunt May's grave who died in the previous instalment. Whether MJ remembers Peter after the memory-erasing events of No Way Home remains uncertain. While industry reports indicate Zendaya's role will be smaller this time, her character could still have key moments in the story. Even a few scenes may hold emotional significance if they explore her lingering connection with Peter. The set photos also spark speculation about the nature of their meeting. MJ may be at the cemetery for her own reasons, crossing paths with Peter unexpectedly, adding a layer of mystery to her part in the narrative. Zendaya is balancing her Marvel commitments with filming Dune: Part Three, making her Brand New Day appearance notable for fans following both franchises.

Sony developing Spider‑Punk animated film with Daniel Kaluuya and Ajon Singh

Sony Pictures Animation is reported to be developing an animated feature centred on Spider‑Punk, co‑written by actor Daniel Kaluuya and writer Ajon Singh. Daniel Kaluuya voiced Spider‑Punk in Spider‑Man: Across the Spider‑Verse (2023) and is expected to reprise the role. The project builds on the creative team behind the Spider‑Verse films. Amy Pascal will produce in collaboration with Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, continuing their work from previous animated entries in the franchise. Spider‑Punk, also known as Hobie Brown, was created by writer Dan Slott and artist Olivier Coipel. Introduced in The Amazing Spider‑Man #10 in 2015, the character hails from Earth‑138 and embodies a rebellious anti‑establishment ethos, keen to dismantle corrupt systems. The animated feature joins Sony's growing Spider‑Man universe, which includes the upcoming Spider‑Man: Beyond the Spider‑Verse (scheduled for release on 25 June 2027) and the live‑action spin-off series Spider‑Noir, set to premiere on MGM+ next year with Nicolas Cage in the title role. Ajon Singh recently wrote and executive produced the upcoming A24 film Primetime, while Kaluuya continues to expand his work behind the camera, having made his directorial debut with Netflix's The Kitchen and set to produce a live‑action Barney film in collaboration with Mattel and A24. Kaluuya is represented by WME, B Side, and Johnson Shapiro Slewett & Kole. Singh is represented by WME, Untitled Entertainment, and Ziffren Brittenham. As Marvel fans await further news, neither plot details nor further production deals have been confirmed at this time.
