Hrithik Roshan, NTR Jr's War 2 Certified U/A, Becomes Longest YRF Spy Universe Film
Last Updated: War 2, directed by Ayan Mukerji and starring Hrithik Roshan and NTR Jr, has a runtime of 2 hours 53 minutes and received a U/A certification from CBFC. As anticipation builds for War 2, the makers have now locked the film's runtime and received a U/A certification from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The high-octane action thriller, directed by Ayan Mukerji, stars Hrithik Roshan and NTR Jr in lead roles and is now confirmed to be the longest film in the Yash Raj Films (YRF) Spy Universe. According to sources close to the production, the final runtime stands at 2 hours and 53 minutes (173 minutes), not including the end credit sequence which is expected to be certified separately later this week. 'War 2 has been certified by CBFC without many revision suggestions by the board members. The final runtime of War 2 is 2 hours 53 minutes (173 minutes), excluding the end credit sequence, which will be certified later in the week," a source told Pinkvilla. The film, which follows in the footsteps of blockbusters like Pathaan, Tiger Zinda Hai, and Tiger 3, also features an exclusive post-credit scene, something that has now become a signature element in the YRF Spy Universe. The sequence remains under tight wraps, known only to a few key stakeholders. 'Much like Pathaan and Tiger 3, War 2 will also have a big post-credit sequence, and the same will be added to the prints of the Hrithik Roshan and NTR starrer. The post-credit sequence has been kept hidden from everyone, and none except the key stakeholders know what it is," the source added. War 2 surpasses the runtime of its predecessors: Ek Tha Tiger (132 mins), Tiger Zinda Hai (161 mins), War (154 mins), Pathaan (146 mins), and Tiger 3 (156 mins). Co-starring Kiara Advani, the film promises six major action set pieces choreographed by international teams. Notably, Hrithik's intro scene and NTR's pirate-themed sequence are being highlighted as standout moments. Releasing worldwide on August 14, 2025, War 2 is positioned to make the most of the Independence Day weekend. CBFC members have reportedly appreciated the film's patriotic undertone and believe its 'India First" message will strike a chord with viewers. Recently, reports suggested that Jr NTR is paid Rs 70 crore for War 2, while Hrithik will receive Rs 50 crore with backend earnings. Now, there are rumours that the South actor has also bagged a profit-sharing deal. According to Bollywood Hungama, YRF has now parted ways with the Telugu rights of War 2 by selling it upfront to Naga Vamsi for a whopping Rs 90 crore. A source told the portal, 'Naga Vamsi has acquired Telugu rights for War 2 for Rs 90 crores. Every profit from the Telugu theatrical medium will now go to Naga Vamsi, while YRF has received an outright recovery of Rs 90 crores on a budget of Rs 400 crore. The Telugu case has been settled between the parties." In a major deal, Naga Vamsi and NTR Jr agreed to split the profits from War 2 's Telugu adaptation. 'After receiving a large salary of Rs 70 crores, NTR Jr. is also entitled to a portion of the revenues from the Telugu version of Naga Vamsi. He is anticipated to earn more than Rs 100 Crore by the end of the run, as the Telugu version of War 2 is expected to generate significant earnings. The profits from Telugu will be split between NTR Jr. and Vamsi, not YRF or Hrithik," the trade source added. First Published: Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. Veteran Actor Prem Chopra Praises Aamir Khan's Sitaare Zameen Par, Calls It 'Fantastic'
Last Updated: In a recent video message, Prem Chopra expressed his love for both the film and Aamir's choice Veteran actor Prem Chopra has praised Aamir Khan's latest film Sitaare Zameen Par and called it 'absolutely fantastic". He also lauded the superstar for his courage and creative vision. In a recent video message, Prem Chopra expressed his love for both the film and Aamir's choice to tackle such a unique subject. Taking to their Instagram stories, Aamir Khan Productions shared Prem Chopra's video, 'Aamir just saw Sitaare Zameen Par and I am so much proud of you. Absolutely fantastic. Nobody could have the guts to make a film like this. And the voice and the sound on Youtube is so superb. The whole thing we could see so clearly and understand it. … I wish all the best. Take care and god bless you Aamir. You are great guy." Days after Aamir Khan's latest film Sitaare Zameen Par was released on YouTube with a pay-per-view option, it was reported that Apple device users can access it only after paying Rs 179. However, Aamir Khan has now clarified that the issue is due to a glitch and that his team is working to resolve it on an immediate basis. While Aamir Khan is not on social media, his production house, Aamir Khan productions, recently took to its official X handle and clarified on the issue. 'Our sincere apologies. We just became aware that the cost to rent our film Sitaare Zameen Par is reflecting as ₹179 on Apple devices. We are trying to resolve this issue as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience and understanding," it wrote. Aamir Khan has sparked a conversation around cinema affordability with the YouTube release of his much-anticipated film Sitaare Zameen Par. Recently, the actor-producer expressed concern over the rising cost of moviegoing and shared his vision to make films more accessible to the masses through his official YouTube channel. The investment in them was very high, so the prices of tickets and eatables also increased. Just like when you go to a five-star hotel, the same things that you'd get elsewhere for a much lower price cost a lot more there because it offers many more facilities and a five-star environment." He added, 'Similarly, multiplexes have now become quite elite. Unless you have a certain level of economic earnings, you simply can't afford to go there." Made under the banner of Aamir Khan Productions, Sitaare Zameen Par stars Aamir Khan and Genelia Deshmukh in lead roles, along with 10 rising stars. The lyrics are penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya and music is composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy. The screenplay is written By Divy Nidhi Sharma. The film is produced by Aamir Khan and Aparna Purohit, with Ravi Bhagchandka as the producer. First Published: August 05, 2025, 15:38 IST Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
