Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister Danasari Anasuya (Seethakka), who represents the Mulugu Assembly constituency, expressed gratitude to Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and Tribal Welfare Minister Adluru Laxman Kumar for approving the funds.
'This decision is a symbol of respect for the tribal community. The sanction of ₹150 crore reflects the commitment of the government towards tribals. This year's Jatara will be held on a grander and historic scale,' Minister Seethakka said.
Held once every two years at Medaram in SS Tadvai mandal in Eturnagaram Wildlife Sanctuary, the Sammakka-Sarakka Jatara also known as 'Kumbh Mela of the South' attracts millions of devotees, mainly tribals from Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra and Odisha. The government allocates special funds to manage infrastructure, health services, drinking water, sanitation and crowd management during the festival.

The State government has sanctioned ₹150 crore for the conduct of the Sammakka-Sarakka (Saralamma) Medaram Maha Jatara, scheduled to be held from January 28 to 31, 2026, in Mulugu district. The Tribal Welfare department issued orders ( dated August 19, 2025) releasing the funds from the 2025–26 budget estimates under the head 'Works under Medaram Jatara'. Expedite Prajavani grievances resolution: RR Collector to officials
Rangareddy: Though the Bhu-bharati program was launched a year ago in the state to address land related issues, the number of grievances regarding them from across the Rangareddy district remain high. This was revealed recently during the Prajavani, a weekly program being held to facilitate the people with a single window platform to get their grievances addressed in the presence of senior officials. A total number of 70 complaints were received during a Prajavani program being held at the district Collectorate. Although there are several other grievances being received by the officials during the Prajavani, revenue related pleas top the list. Out of a total number of 70 grievances, the officials said, 39 were pertaining to the revenue department. Six pleas were related to municipal issues, 9 are linked to Education, 6 to Board of intermediate, 3 related to pensions, 2 to Panchayat Raj, 2 to Police Department, one each linked to Agriculture and Housing etc. District Collector C. Narayan Reddy asked the officials concerned to prioritize the grievances received during the Prajavani program. 'The officials should investigate the issues thoroughly and resolve the same without leaving a scope of pendency,' said the Collector. 'The risk associated with the usage of fertilizers should be brought to the notice of farmers as it contains high amounts of chemicals,' stated the collector. During the meeting, the officials also discussed the Vana Mahotsav, a plantation carnival aimed to increase the green cover in the district besides the pending targets under the Indiramma housing scheme. The Collector asked the officials from different departments to take up the plantation drive and complete the construction of houses under Indiramma Housing in the district.

Even Telangana was a victim of ‘vote chori' conspiracy: CM
Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has called upon all parties to join forces for a unified fight against the 'vote chori' conspiracy. He alleged that even Telangana fell prey to the conspiracy as were Bihar and Maharashtra, among others. The Chief Minister said that he and Deputy CM Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka would participate in Rahul Gandhi's 'vote adhikar yatra'. Addressing the 375th birth anniversary celebrations of Sri Sardar Sarvai Papanna Goud Maharaj here on Monday, he said that the Congress would thwart vote theft attempts being made by some political parties to win elections in Telangana. He alleged that the Election Commission had registered one crore voters in Maharashtra within four months, which helped BJP wrest power. He took strong exception to the Election Commission of India (ECI) for asking an affidavit from Rahul Gandhi, instead of acting against those guilty of the 'vote theft' scam. It was Rahul Gandhi who exposed vote theft in Bihar where around 65 lakh votes were deleted before the Assembly elections. Affirming that the 'people's government' will fulfil aspirations of the BC community, Revanth Reddy criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union minister of Coal and Mines G Kishan Reddy for obstructing the implementation of 42 per cent BC quota in education, employment and political empowerment. He questioned the Union Government for opposing the BC quota citing quota based on religion to Muslims. The CM dared the BJP to scrap Muslim quota in Maharashtra, Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh. Clarifying that there is no mention of religious-based quota, the CM said that the Panchayat Raj act enacted during the KCR rule was a curse to the BC community.
