Strictly Come Dancing star Motsi Mabuse speaks out after legal victory against ex-husband

Mabuse expressed relief after winning a three-year legal battle with her ex husband Timo Kulczak over claims in her autobiography.
Strictly Come Dancing star Motsi Mabuse has spoken of her relief after a lengthy legal battle with her former husband Timo Kulczak finally came to an end.

The professional dancer revealed that proceedings, which had dragged on for nearly three years, concluded with a court ruling in her favour. Kulczak, whom she married in 2003 and divorced in 2014, had launched legal action against her last year, seeking £70,000 in damages over claims she made in her autobiography, Mirror reports.

In the book, Mabuse described him as 'controlling' and made a number of allegations about their marriage. Kulczak denied the accusations and said they had breached what he believed to be a private agreement between the former couple not to discuss their personal lives publicly.

The case eventually made its way to court, where he insisted her remarks had harmed his dance coaching career and personal life.
Posting on social media today, Mabuse said the conclusion of the case brought a weight off her shoulders.
She wrote: 'After almost three years, the legal proceedings against me have now come to an end, with the court ruling in my favour. This case has been a long and challenging process, accompanied by media coverage and many articles over the years.
'It has been a constant burden, and I am relieved that clarity has finally been achieved. Now I can close this chapter and focus on the future with renewed strength.'
The Strictly judge also expressed gratitude to those closest to her, including her husband Evgenij Voznyuk, her management and her legal team, for their support throughout the ordeal.

Mabuse met Voznyuk, her dance partner, after the breakdown of her marriage to Kulczak. The pair married in 2017 and now share a daughter. Together, they run a dance school in Germany, where Mabuse has lived for several years.
Reflecting last year on their past relationship, Kulczak claimed that Mabuse initially struggled to adapt to German culture and that he had to help her 'organise' her life.

Speaking to The Sun, he said: 'For sure, the German character is different from the South African way of living. But she lived here a very long time, so she got used to it and liked how organised everything was and how things were functioning because it was organised.'
Kulczak also claimed that all he had sought from Mabuse was an apology. 'I just wanted the apology. But at the point where you say all further communication is through legal teams, an apology is not enough any more,' he said.

The dancer, however, has now drawn a line under the dispute, just as she prepares for another glittering season of Strictly Come Dancing.
She will return to the judging panel this autumn alongside Craig Revel Horwood, Anton Du Beke and Head Judge Shirley Ballas.
The quartet will soon welcome a brand-new line-up of celebrity contestants onto the famous dancefloor, with the BBC programme set to return in just a few weeks' time.

Based on the Pulitzer prize winning novel by Anthony Doerr, it was picked up for adaptation by Netflix in 2019, with Free Guy filmmaker Shawn Levy attached to direct and Peaky Blinders writer Steven Knight on screenplay duties. Since its release, viewers have responded to its emotional story and powerful performances from its leading pair. All The Light We Cannot See currently boasts an 81% positive audience score on the review aggregator site Rotten Tomatoes, with Asha B describing it as 'a show with substance and depth.' Meanwhile, user C W called it 'simply fantastic,' and 'a beautiful piece of storytelling.' 'Excellent series. Ruff also is fantastic and the cinematography is wonderful,' said Bad B. Helen W described it as: 'A beautiful story albeit told without compromise,' adding 'you should watch!' Critics were more divided on the adaptation, contributing to a 28% 'rotten' score, although most praised its production values and cinematography. 'All the Light We Cannot See starts off strong and will keep viewers engaged from the beginning until the very end,' wrote Ready Steady Cut. It's worth watching for Loberti's outstanding performance and the generally impressive production value,' said Paste Magazine, while bemoaning that it 'could have been so much more.' Meanwhile, NPR called it 'worthwhile and heartening.' The show marks the acting debut of Aria Mia Loberti, who is herself, legally blind. 'When you decide, as I did, to open up the casting process to low vision and legally blind contenders for this protagonist, who is herself blind, it's not like you can go the usual route,' director Levy told Town & Country Magazine. 'It's not like the talent agencies have filled their rosters with actors who are blind; it's not a big pool. That's why I opened it up with a global casting search announced in a blitz, and we got hundreds and hundreds of self-tapes from people who just filmed an audition on their laptop or their phone. 'Among those, I noticed one from a young woman named Aria Mia Loberti, and while at that point I didn't know anything about her, I knew that there was something about her that popped,' the Deadpool & Wolverine director added. 'What was difficult was being a first-time actress,' said Loberti of her debut performance. More Trending 'I had never been on a set before and that was the challenge. I brought a lot from my day-to-day life—my ballet training and martial arts training—with me to the stunts. 'I got to do all the stunts except for driving the car. Having Shawn as my guide was amazing and I am grateful to him for believing in me.' View More » All The Light We Cannot See is currently streaming on Netflix UK. Got a story? Vicky Pattison reveals swollen feet from gruelling first week of Strictly Come Dancing rehearsals after BBC call in the police amid fresh scandal

Vicky Pattison has shared a behind-the-scenes glimpse of her swollen cut-up feet on Instagram on Sunday after her first week of gruelling Strictly Come Dancing rehearsals. The TV personality, 37, who rose to fame on MTV's Geordie Shore, was unveiled as the eleventh celebrity taking part in this year's BBC competition last week. Sharing a photo of her red swollen feet after rehearsing, she wrote: 'And so it begins', (crying and laughing emoji). In a second post, Vicky admitted she feels like she has been 'hit by a car' as she has found 'dancing so hard' after starting rehearsals. She said: 'Our first @bbcstrictly rehearsal... The start of the day versus... the end. 'It certainly was a baptism of fire lads... that's for sure! If I was doubting my ability before.. then I REALLY am now!!! Dancing is SO HARD! 'No wonder those pros are all drop dead gorgeous. I feel like I've been hit by a car and I've already got blisters.. WTF??? A serious new found appreciation for everyone who's ever taken part! 'BUT... what an amazing day, the team are incredible, the celebs are so wonderful and the pros are an absolute joy. 'If I hang around long enough... I think I'll really love my new family. I'm off to think about my life choices and apologise to all the fellas I stepped all over today!' It comes as Strictly was hit with a fresh scandal just weeks before the new series kicks off. The BBC have reportedly alerted the Metropolitan Police to investigate a new allegation, after lawyers began an inquiry into the series. The broadcaster had already launched an inquiry into the family show amid claims two of its stars had used cocaine. According to The Sun on Sunday, detectives from the Met Police are allegedly examining other allegations. Sources claim: 'It's a significant new development in the BBC's recent string of crises that they have now got the police involved in investigating allegations surrounding Strictly. This is a very dramatic turn of events. She wrote: 'I feel like I've been hit by a car and I've already got blisters.. WTF??? A serious new found appreciation for everyone who's ever taken part!' 'Despite all the show and its team have been through over recent months, it's hugely controversial that you've now got Scotland Yard detectives probing Strictly. 'This is their biggest prime-time family entertainment show, so it's not a good look for the BBC.' The BBC declined to comment on any police investigations when contacted by Daily Mail. A spokesperson for the broadcaster previously stated: 'We have clear protocols and policies in place for dealing with any serious complaint raised with us. 'We would always encourage people to speak to us if they have concerns. It would not be appropriate for us to comment further.' Strictly's new series has been hit by a string of scandals in the lead-up to its return, including revelations that the broadcaster had hired a law firm to probe allegations of drug taking by two individuals. One of the stars involved in the drugs probe was also suspected of drinking while working on the show after crew smelt alcohol on their breath. The Sun alleged that it was widely known that the pair, who have not been named, took the Class A substance, and that one of these Strictly performers was known for being a drinker. The publication have now reported that junior members of the team were asked to keep an eye on them during last year's show and to look for signs that they may have been boozing during work hours.
