Dianna Agron unveils 'incredibly personal' fashion collection

Perth Now17-07-2025
Dianna Agron found it a "joy" to work on her "incredibly personal" fashion collection for clothing brand La Ligne.
The Glee star has teamed up with the company to co-create her own range of pieces that reflect her style which includes the Dianna Cardigan and Dianna Tank as well as skirts dresses and a trench coat, which retails for $495.
Dianna told WWD: "This collection is incredibly personal to me. It was a joy to create something that reflects my style, while staying true to the essence of La Ligne - timeless, wearable, and effortlessly chic."
The 39-year-old actress went on to reveal she's been fascinated by clothing construction after watching her mother sew when she was a child and seeing costume designers work on the sets of her TV and film projects.
She added: "As someone who steps behind the camera a lot as a director, you really have to understand so much about storytelling ...
"So between watching that in the home [my mother sewing] and seeing that on set and working with costume designers that I so deeply admire ...
"It was so absolutely joyful to be able to step into this role of collaborator with these women that I admire so much ... I'm so curious, and I always want to just learn to the full extent of the experience."
The collection launches online and in select stores on Thursday (17.07.25).
Dianna has previously revealed she feels most "comfortable" when wearing a suit, but she's only felt able to incorporate more formalwear into her wardrobe over the last few years.
She told W magazine: "Oftentimes, I feel most comfortable in a suit. While I always admired women who wore a lot of suiting - like Katharine Hepburn and Diane Keaton - it never was something that I incorporated into my wardrobe until the last couple of years.
"But it's an easy go-to that I know will make me feel like myself. While there are exceptions to every stylistic choice, I would rather you see me as I am in my presence more than notice an article of clothing I'm wearing.
She added of her shoe choices: "I definitely like a flat shoe, because I love to dance. After so many years of wearing heels, I would never want to be inhibited by the shoe I'm wearing."

Nicole Kidman learned make-up from movie work

Nicole Kidman learned how to do her make-up by watching professionals on movie sets. The Hollywood actress has revealed working with make-up artists, costume designers and directors over the years has helped her understand how to apply cosmetics properly and use them to help change up her look whenever she wants to do something different. She told WWD: "When you're working with someone like [director] Baz Luhrmann and [costume designer] Catherine Martin, there's a very specific look they want for the character. "I started to realize, as I was being created by others and experimenting, they were teaching me how to use makeup in particular ways and create characters. I could then go and use that in real life." She added: "When I started experimenting with make-up and skin care myself, I went through so many different stages: lots of masks, this and that. I learned I can change aspects of my face, augment things, and it became much more creative and exciting." Nicole recently signed up to be a brand ambassador for cosmetics company Clé de Peau Beauté and she insisted she was already a fan of their products before the deal came about. She told the publication: "I'd already been using so many of their products. It wasn't like I was going to have to discover them, and I was in." Nicole previously revealed changing her look so many times over the years took a toll on her hair. She used to sport long curls, but she previously revealed she lost her "ringlets" because she "tortured them to death" by straightening her hair so much. She told Who magazine: "I really wanted to have that suntanned skin and long blonde hair. I wanted to conform and be the Aussie beach girl. And I was never going to be that ... "I wish I had my curls back. I tortured them to death. I always say, 'Don't ruin the ringlets!'" She later added to the The Sunday Morning Herald: "Do I wish that I hadn't screwed up my hair by straightening it all the time? Sure." Nicole also admitted she wishes she'd been "more careful" with sun cream in her younger years after previously dealing with skin cancer. She added to the publication: "I've had skin cancer; do I wish I'd been more careful with the sun? Yes, to all those things. "But am I grateful to be around? Oh, yeah. And am I willing to share my knowledge, what I've learnt along the way? Absolutely."

Sydney Sweeney feels 'confident and comfortable' in jeans

Sydney Sweeney has declared she feels "confident and comfortable" in jeans after signing up as the new face of American Eagle Outfitters. The 27-year-old actress stars in the brand's new denim campaign which will feature the slogan "Sydney Sweeney has great jeans" when it launches later this year - and Sydney has admitted it suits her laidback style. She explained in a statement: "There is something so effortless about American Eagle - it's the perfect balance of being put-together but still feeling like yourself. "Their commitment to creating pieces that make you feel confident and comfortable in your own skin is something that resonates with me. "It's rare to find a brand that grows with you, the way American Eagle has for generations. They have literally been there with me through every version of myself." Craig Brommers, chief marketing officer for American Eagle Outfitters, admitted signing up Sydney was a a huge deal for the company because the actress is the "It girl of the moment". He told WWD: "I think this is potentially one of the biggest gets in American Eagle histor. "Sydney Sweeney is the It girl of the moment, and she is helping us create the It jeans campaign of the season. Sydney really encapsulates American Eagle. "She is the girl who can play the red carpet but she's also the girl next door, and that duality really defines Gen Z and Millennials." Brommers revealed that Sydney made it clear she "legitimately loves our jeans", adding: "I think she just has this magnetism that everyone, women and men, are drawn to." The news comes after it was reported that Sydney is branching out into fashion herself by launching a lingerie line with backing from Amazon billionaire Jeff Bezos and his new wife, Lauren Sanchez, who have "invested" in her project. A source told Us Weekly that Sydney's new lingerie line is launching "very soon" but she has actually been working on the lingerie line for "for the last year" and it's now close to launching. The insider explained: "This has been a huge project for her and something she's been working on for the last year."
