PM Modi's Governance Model At CM Fadnavis' Nagpur Conference
The meetings will be held at the IIM Nagpur campus and will follow the Prime Minister's governance model, where officials interact with ministers in small rotating groups throughout the day.
A senior official said the format was inspired by how Prime Minister Narendra Modi conducts review meetings in New Delhi. Groups of 7–8 collectors will engage directly with Fadnavis, while other groups will simultaneously meet with the deputy CMs and the revenue minister.
The groups will keep rotating through the day, ensuring that all top officials and ministers interact with each other in focused discussions.
This major administrative meet comes as part of the Revenue Week being observed from August 1 to 7 across Nagpur district. At a press conference on Thursday, collector Vipin Itankar informed that the revenue department will undertake a range of activities during the week to make the system more transparent, responsive, and citizen-oriented.
The campaign will begin with an inaugural event at Niyojan Bhavan on August 1, where awards will be distributed to retired and serving revenue officers, and certificates will be handed over to beneficiaries of various govt schemes by guardian minister Bawankule.
During the week, the administration will also distribute land leases to eligible families occupying govt land for residential purposes since 2011. A plantation drive along Panand and Shivarastha roads will take place on August 3, while the Shivaji Maharaj Swa Abhiyan will be implemented mandal-wise on August 4.
Direct Benefit Transfers under the Special Assistance Scheme will be processed on August 5. On August 6, encroachments on govt lands will be removed, and cases will be reviewed for regularisation. The week will conclude on August 7 with the implementation of the M-Sand policy under the new standard operating procedures.
Officials said the combination of large-scale public engagement and high-level internal coordination could set a precedent for how governance and citizen services are approached in the future.

Outsourcing is against social justice, Marxist party tells DMK government
Chennai, Aug 11 (PTI) The CPI (M), a key ally of Tamil Nadu's ruling DMK, on Monday said the concept of outsourcing went against social justice and urged the state government to abandon it and treat vacancies under state services as openings for permanent jobs and recruit personnel through the public service commission. Referring to the protest here by conservancy workers for over 10 days opposing privatisation of sanitation operations by Chennai Corporation, 'Theekathir,' the official organ of the CPI(M) said in an editorial that the party's Tamil Nadu State Secretary, P Shanmugam has met the workers and has extended support to them. Usurping the rights of workers in the name of privatisation, consolidated pay and so on –as regards government job opportunities in Tamil Nadu– cannot be accepted, Shanmugam has said. The workers, seeking permanent jobs, oppose outsourcing mooted in areas including Tondiarpet in Chennai. They continue to protest in front of Ripon Buildings, the headquarters of the Chennai Corporation. The parties, including CPI(M) have strongly supported the conservancy workers who oppose privatisation. 'In Madurai Corporation too, conservancy work has been handed over to a private firm," the Marxist party's Tamil mouthpiece said, adding several protests have been staged opposing the private company that has been exploiting the workers. Private companies taking up work, including conservancy operations, pay a pittance to workers, who are not covered under statutory and social welfare schemes. Outsourcing of permanent jobs in state services is on the rise gradually and in particular, outsourcing of job openings in the health department is increasing. Also, arrangements such as consolidated pay, honorarium and work under an outsourced agency are against social justice as no system of reservation is followed. Hence, the Tamil Nadu government must completely give up outsourcing and must recruit personnel for permanent jobs under state services through the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission and this is necessary. 'This is not only an issue related to employment opportunities but also related to the future of the society." It cannot be said that those appointed by private firms to whom jobs are outsourced would have job security and responsibility for their work. Also, they may not have to own up responsibility for lapses, and this may lead to irregularities, it added. Direct Ahilyanagar–Pune Rail Link Soon: Fadnavis
Nagpur: Chief minister Devendra Fadnavis on Sunday announced that the state govt is actively pursuing plans to lay a direct railway line from Ahilyanagar to Pune — a project that could significantly cut travel time between Nagpur and Pune. The proposed link, he said, would shorten the distance by nearly 100km and save close to an hour on the journey. Speaking to mediapersons after flagging off the Nagpur–Pune Vande Bharat Express, Fadnavis explained that trains currently have to take a longer route via Daund, adding 100–125km to the trip. "I have suggested railway officials that a direct line be laid from Ahilyanagar to Pune. If this line is constructed along the right of way of the upcoming Sambhaji Nagar–Pune expressway, both projects could be integrated. This will not only save time but also accelerate the railway work," the CM said. He emphasised that the belt from Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar to Ahilyanagar and onwards to Pune is a major industrial corridor. The new railway line, he added, could also serve as part of a freight corridor linking the region to the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT). Land acquisition for the expressway is in progress, while the railways completed their alignment survey. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 25 Best Cities for Living Undo "We will submit our proposed alignment to ensure that the railway track is accommodated within the expressway's right of way," he said. Outlining his broader vision for high-speed connectivity in the state, Fadnavis said trains running along the Samruddhi Mahamarg should be capable of reaching speeds of 250–300 kmph. "We already have 78% of right of way for this alignment, but 22% still needs to be acquired to connect with stations. A detailed study will be undertaken soon," he said. Fadnavis also expressed satisfaction at the launch of the Nagpur–Pune Vande Bharat Express, which he described as a much-needed service for passengers on the busy corridor. "I personally requested the railway minister to introduce this train, given the heavy passenger rush on the route. Many times, private bus fares touch 5,000, which causes serious hardship to common citizens," he noted. Thanking PM Narendra Modi and railway minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for fulfilling the demand, he said the state would work with the Centre to ensure faster, more comfortable travel options for Maharashtra's citizens.
