Mark Hamill totally forgot he acted in this movie role
In 1992, the actor, 73, had a small role in the adaptation of Stephen King's 'Sleepwalkers.' However, decades later, Hamill doesn't remember playing Sheriff Jenkins in the horror drama.
'I totally forgot,' the 'Star Wars' actor admitted to Entertainment Weekly. 'If I remember right, Mick Garris, the director, asked me, 'Could I do a small role?' I loved him so much, and I thought, 'I've gotta do it to help him.' I don't even know if I got paid, but I totally forgot about it. If there's not a premiere of a movie, sometimes they'll slip through, and I don't see 'em. I think I eventually saw it, but it was so long ago, I can't remember much of it.'

In the project, Brian Krause and Alice Krige starred as Charles and Mary Brady, respectively, shape-shifters who are looking to feed on local virgin girls.
'I don't remember the plot; I don't remember who I played. I should probably look it up,' Hamill continued. 'I've always been a Stephen King fan, and if it came out after 'The Shining,' because that's one of the first things I ever saw. I remember I saw it in Westwood, [Calif.,] the very first week it opened. I walked directly from the theater to a bookstore and went home to read, 'What the Hell Did I Just Read?''

The star continued to act in various King, 77, projects, including 'The Life of Chuck' in 2024 and 'The Long Walk,' which comes out in September.

The upcoming film is based on King's 1979 novel that follows the contestants of a grueling and deadly annual walking contest. Hamill plays a military leader in totalitarian America.
'The real heart and soul of the picture is their experiences in these extraordinary circumstances,' he said of the characters, 'their highs, their lows, their triumphs, their tragedies, the alliances, the rivalries. That's what the movie's all about.'

The author's 1974 book 'Carrie' was the first of many to be adapted to the big screen. The 1976 film was directed by Brian De Palma and starred Sissy Spacek and John Travolta.
'I liked De Palma's film of Carrie quite a bit,' King said in an interview with Cinefantastique. 'The attitude of the film was different from my book; I tended to view the events straight-on, humorlessly, in a straight point-to-point progression, while I think De Palma saw a chance to make a movie that was a satirical view of high school life in general and high school peer-groups in particular. A perfectly viable point of view.'

He added, 'Sissy Spacek was excellent, but right behind her – in a smaller part than it should have been was John Travolta. He played the part of Billy Nolan the way I wish I'd written it, half-funny and half-crazy.'

Hamill, meanwhile, first rose to fame playing Luke Skywalker in George Lucas' 'Star Wars' films since 1977.
Rumors swirled that the actor quit the franchise after he told ComicBook.com in May that he 'had his time' with the beloved sci-fi series and that 'they should focus on the future.'
'I am so grateful to George for letting me be a part of that back in the day, the humble days when George called 'Star Wars' the most expensive low-budget movie ever made,' shared Hamill. 'We never expected it to become a permanent franchise and a part of pop culture like that.'

'But my deal is, I had my time,' he continued. 'I'm appreciative of that, but I really think they should focus on the future and all the new characters.'
A month later, the 'Wild Robot' star set the record straight.

'Well, let me say: they haven't asked me,' Hamill said while on 'Sunday TODAY with Willie Geist' at the time. 'It's not like they said, 'Please come back.''

'I don't want to make a big PR pronouncement like 'This is my decision,'' he added. 'I'm just saying that it really felt like a conclusion. My character was given complete closure. I died, ironically by overdosing on the Force, I might point out.'

'The Pitt' showrunner introduces new doctor and teases Dr. Langdon's return in season 2 first look (exclusive)
Sepideh Moafi arrives as Dr. Al-Hashimi, an attending who will have some "tension" with Dr. Robby in season 2. A new doctor is clocking into The Pitt — and so is a disgraced one. The Emmy-nominated medical drama's sophomore season — again taking place over the course of one 15-hour shift in the emergency department — takes place on July 4th, 10 months after the events of the season 1 finale. Showrunner R. Scott Gemmill tells Entertainment Weekly that timeline was chosen specifically to bring back Dr. Frank Langdon (Patrick Ball); the season will take place over the course of his first day back after completing rehab. (For those who might need a quick refresher: Langdon was caught stealing medication from the hospital, leading to a blow-out fight with Noah Wyle's Dr. Robby and the revelation of a drug addiction). "It was really driven by wanting to have the Langdon character back and knowing how much time he would've had to spend in rehab and going through his recovery process," Gemmill explains. "We knew it had to be about 10 months, [which] took us into the summer. We played Labor Day, essentially, for the first season, so we decide to play this on the 4th of July." Gemmill acknowledges that most of the other doctors will be well aware of Langdon's drug problem by now — "gossip seems to travel faster than the internet" — but there are some new characters that won't know the extent of what happened. It'll be the first time Langdon and Robby cross paths since their dramatic fallout in season 1. "Let's just say there's a lot of history that has to be resolved between them before they can get back to any kind of normalcy," Gemmill says. One such new character is Dr. Al-Hashimi, played by Black Bird and Generation Q: The L Word star Sepideh Moafi, an attending who arrives at Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center from the VA Hospital, where she previously worked with Dr. Mel King (Taylor Dearden) and Dr. Samira Mohan (Supriya Ganesh). "She's gonna be someone who's very progressive in her approach to medicine and believes in the modernization of the medical field," Gemmill says. "And Robby's a little bit more old school and there'll be a little bit of, let's just say, tension as they try and figure out how to work together." He adds, "Robby has a very specific way of how he likes to run his emergency department, and Dr. Al-Hashimi has her own specific ways of how she likes to run an emergency department, and they're not necessarily cohesive." As Robby navigates these tense relationships new and old, he'll also be navigating his mental health, which Gemmill says is the "big through-line of episode 1." According to Gemmill, season 2 is really about Robby "coming to terms" with the post-traumatic stress disorder he picked up during COVID. "One of the things that Robbie has a habit of is, he's very good at telling people what to do, but not necessarily great at taking his own advice," Gemmill says. "He has to come to terms with setting an example, I think, for those who he works with so that he can't tell people to get help and to seek help if he's not doing it himself. So, you know, I think it's a journey of self-discovery for him as well in terms of his own mental health." Robby's journey includes a plan to take some time off, but it might not be so straightforward, Gemmill teases. "There's some questions whether he'll really do it or not, because it's not in his nature to step away from the work." The Pitt season 2 debuts in January 2026. The city of Alliance's celebration of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with begin at noon Aug. 23 with a parade that will travel to Maple Beach Park. The Dr. Martin Luther King Steering Committee, founded in 1995 by the late Evelyn Brown, is marking the event's 30th anniversary with this year's events. The parade will step off on South Liberty Avenue and travel north across the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Viaduct, go east on Patterson Street, north on Oak Avenue, and east on Reed Street to Maple Beach Park. Gary L. King Sr., a 1973 graduate of Alliance High School, will be the parade marshal. After attending Ohio University, where he played football; Kent State and Mount Union College, King worked at American Steel before working for 42 years coaching football, basketball and track. King coached at Green High School, GlenOak High School, St. Thomas Aquinas High School and Alliance High School. He was Canton Repository's girls basketball Coach of the Year in 1997-98; Federal League Coach of the Year in 2003; and Eastern Buckeye Conference Coach of the Year in Track in 2024. The party at the park, which immediately follows the parade, will include free food and activities such as a bounce house, vendors, DJ Bullettooth Muzik and live music throughout the event. Visitors to the park also can use the Alliance's new splash pad, which opened this month. At 3 p.m., Rayr Image will take the stage.
