Naman Shaw, currently seen as Adit Saxena in Mangal Lakshmi, reflects on balancing family life with the demanding routine of daily soaps.
'It's been 20 years in the industry, and I've accepted the rhythm.
When you're shooting, it's relentless—no breaks. When you're not, you're mostly just waiting. But I'm not complaining,' he says.
'After taking a six-year break, returning to TV has been refreshing. I'm genuinely enjoying this phase, and the fact that the show is doing well makes it even more satisfying.'
Despite the hectic pace, the actor is conscious about making time for his family, especially his young son. 'Whenever I get an early wrap, I make sure to drop him off at the bus in the morning or take the family out for dinner.
I miss bedtime often, but I try to make up for it whenever I can. I've told my wife that after dedicating three years to this show, we'll finally take that long-overdue holiday. That's the plan,' he says.
He takes feedback for his acting from his family, Naman says, 'My mom, wife, and mother-in-law keep sharing their views on my role. They enjoy the character, even when he gets grey. They believe performance matters more than how likeable the character is. Adit's real—flawed but loving—and that connects with people.'
Earlier, he was part of shows like Kkavyanjali, Kasamh Se, Kasautii Zindagii Kay, and Saath Nibhaana Saathiya.
