Aldi's 'naughty' new offering outside McDonald's has fast food fans in stitches
There's nothing worse than making it to McDonald's and realising you've missed the 11am cut off to get your hash brown fix.
In fact, 62% of Brits believe this is too early to stop serving breakfast, with more than a fifth of us wanting breakfast food to be available all day.
Well Aldi might just be the answer to our prayers, as it looks to give the beloved fast food chain a run for its money.
The budget supermarket is hitting the road in its very own food truck, pulling up outside select McDonald's from 11.01am to offer its own free version of the breakfast staple.
That's right, you'll be able to get your hands on Aldi's freshly cooked Oakhurst Breakfast Hash Browns all day. There's no need to rush hungover in your pyjamas to the drive through any longer.
The tour will start at London McDonald's branches on ThursdayMay 29, before continuing to other UK cities on Friday.
Depending on stock levels, the food truck may continue to operate over the weekend, but if they're as popular as we think they're going to be, then you'll need to be quick.
The supermarket claims its hash browns have garnered cult status among breakfast connoisseurs.
It even says its 'outdoes' McDonald's in blind taste tests by food critics and social media accounts.
Capital FM host @aimeevivian shared her love of the viral hash browns on TikTok, saying: 'It's another run don't walk to Aldi! I love a cheeky Maccies hash brown as a treat. So to find these in @Aldi UK was a touch!'
Others in the comments dubbed the supermarket hash browns 'perfect' and 'just like Maccies', so we have a feeling they'll satisfy those cravings.
TikToker @dadthefoodie said: 'They look like McDonald's… you can't tell any difference.'
Others online questioned how Aldi were 'getting away' with the stunt. One wrote: 'How the hell did you get away with that,' while another said: 'I love Aldi for sooooo many reasons but the fact they always choose violence has to be number one.'
Others called the stunt 'Pure naughtiness!' and dubbed Aldi 'legends' for their new truck.
If you're unable to make it to a McDonald's car park, you can grab a bag of 10 hash browns at Aldi for just £1.99. It's a steal when you consider the fast food chain charges £1.49 for a single hash brown.
Then again you've got to cook it yourself, and we don't know if we've got the patience for that.
But this isn't the only breakfast staple budget supermarkets do well. Lidl also made headlines last week after its sausages beat out competition from M&S, Heck, Jolly Hog and Sainsbury's, in a blind taste test.
The supermarket sausages received a score of 77% because of their 'juicy texture' and 'perfect meaty flavour' – talk about high praise. More Trending
Aldi's sausages came seventh in the taste test just behind Morrisons and Asda with a score of 69% – putting it on par with The Jolly Hog and Co-op.

'I went to Benidorm on holiday and couldn't believe cost of a pint'
A man, who is known as the Benidorm Fanatic to his TikTok followers, recently headed to the popular holiday destination and was left gobsmacked by the price of a drink A Brit was gobsmacked by the cost of a pint in Benidorm, despite being a frequent visitor to Spain. Known amongst his TikTok followers as the Benidorm Fanatic, he recounts his visit to Uncle Ron's, a bar renowned for its affordably priced pints, where he found himself pleasantly surprised by just how much bang he got for his buck. In his popular video, he raves: "I tell you what, I believe it's actually a very, very nice pint as well, so it comes to the equivalent of about 84p in British money. Let's go and try it out, shall we? Let's give it a try." Upon reaching the bar, he continued: "So there you go, I'll give you a euro, a €1 pint, and I'll take that. Let's try this €1 pint. Look at that - a nice, clean, cold pint. It's got a nice, good head on it - let's try it." He enthusiastically shared his verdict, saying: "That is actually one of the best pints I've had in one of the popular bars. That is actually one of the best pints I've had in Benidorm to be honest with you. €1, I'll drink them all day." The video quickly gained traction, prompting viewers to share their impressions and even their own tales of Benidorm adventures. Among the comments, one user exclaimed: "Wow," while another who'd been there on holiday exclaimed: "I was there last week." Someone else who'd be there said: "Lovely pint. Had many." Whil a fellow TikToker simply added: "Bargain." Uncle Ron's, a hit with British holidaymakers in Benidorm, is famed for its budget-friendly tipples and hearty meals. TripAdvisor reviews boast of the establishment's offerings from breakfast through to dinner, with an average rating of 3.8 out of 5 on the platform, suggesting it's a must-visit for those seeking a decent meal and drinks while away. In the review section, one visitor commented: "Had a fantastic breakfast at Ron's today. Lovely English produce. Great service. Brilliant staff. "A massive group came in, but they were serviced promptly. Don't know how they manage with so few staff." Another shared their experience: "Last day we visited for some lunch before heading to airport. Left full, which is always a good thing. In all my times of going here, never left unhappy at the service nor the food - always really good." A third reviewer added: "We went many times during our two-week holiday. The staff are friendly and extremely hard working day and night. "Cheapest drinks you will find in town and food to suit everyone (daily deal only 6 euros). It's not a stylish 5* restaurant but then you wouldn't expect it. "For drinks just go to the bar like a normal bar. Always busy Sunday and Friday, so expect to book if you want a Sunday lunch. Would we go again? Certainly would!"

Shoppers go wild for ‘amazing' new ice cream available in supermarkets that's a twist on a childhood favourite
SHOPPERS are going wild for a new ice cream treat that's a take on a childhood classic. Many of us will remember Angel Delight as a special treat dessert from our childhoods - and now you can get it in ice cream form too. 1 Morrisons is currently selling Angel Delight ice cream sticks, which come in the flavours Butterscotch & Chocolate and Strawberry & Vanilla. They come in packs of four and are selling for £2.75. If you've got space in your freezer you can get two packs for £4 at the moment. The description on the Morrisons website says it's 'fluffy, light and mallowy ice cream perfectly twisted together for a tasty soft serve treat'. 'Perfect for a quick snack after school, a fun dessert after dinner, or simply when you fancy something sweet, these ice cream sticks are easy to enjoy anytime!' it says. Delighted shoppers shared the new find on the Facebook group Snack Reviews. 'Can't believe they have finally got a new product. Now all they need to do is experiment with new flavours like they used to, #AngelDelightComeback,' one person said. Another said the ice creams are 'so nice' while a third person said 'I need these!!!'. A fourth commenter added: 'The strawberry and vanilla ones are amazing, Aldi do Banana and Shrimps, they are just as good.' The ice creams will be perfect as the summery weather returns again halfway through next week. 'survey reveals what your ice cream eating habits could say about your personality' Forecasters are expecting highs of 25C by Wednesday. Angel Delight was first launched in 1967 and has been a popular cheap dessert for decades. You can buy it in sachets and all you need to do is add 300ml fresh milk and whisk it. Then you let it stand for five minutes before tucking in. What other new products have launched recently? Shops are often bringing in exciting new products to entice customers. Recently Cadbury announced it was introducing a new Twirl flavour with a huge twist. Twirl White Dipped has the famous flaky texture of a Twirl bar but it's encased in white chocolate instead of the classic milk chocolate. Meanwhile, Tesco has started selling Wotsits Mac 'n' Cheese Bowls. They come in the flavours Sweet & Spicy, Flamin Hot and Really Cheesy. And Sainsbury's has recently brought out the S'mores Brownie, which combines the US marshmallow sandwich with a chocolate brownie. Shoppers have raved over the £4.25 find, which they say is a "dream".
