The Philadelphia Phillies will be adding relievers at the trade deadline. It's just a matter of how many and for what price.
As the deadline nears, the Phillies continue to search for someone who can be effective in high-leverage situations. Jim Bowden of The Athletic believes Felix Bautista should be the top choice for Philadelphia.

SEATTLE, WASHINGTON - JUNE 03: Felix Bautista #74 of the Baltimore Orioles throws a pitch during the game against the Seattle Mariners at T-Mobile Park on June 03, 2025 in Seattle, Washington. The Baltimore Orioles won 5-1. More"The Phillies' front office is determined to land a dominant back-end-of-the-bullpen reliever, and I'm sure they will do so before the trade deadline," wrote Bowden. "If the Orioles don't get back in the race, Bautista could be the Phillies' best option to take over the ninth inning."
Bautista has been dominant so far this year for a struggling Orioles team, and he has been one of the few bright spots. However, closers will be a hot commodity at the deadline, and the length of his contract will play a part in helping to make the trade worthwhile for both teams.
"Bautista is under team control through 2027 and has a 3.32 ERA and 12 saves this season," wrote Bowden. "He has not allowed a run in six of his past seven appearances and appears to be making progress in getting closer to his pre-Tommy John surgery form."
The 29-year-old flamethrower would provide a major spark to the Phillies bullpen as they try to stay alive in the race for the National League East title. Philadelphia would benefit from a closer who is converting on 92% of his save opportunities.

He welcomed his fourth daughter, Finn, back in March, and in April, he joined his brother Travis Kelce, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end, at Justin Timberlake's celebrity 8AM Invitational golf tournament. Tuesday night brought more excitement for the 37-year-old, who was at Citizens Bank Park to watch some summer baseball between the Philadelphia Phillies and the Chicago Cubs. At one point during the game, a video was taken of him chugging a beer in a large baseball bat-shaped cup as the crowd cheered. The video quickly made its way to social media, with fans at home sharing their reactions. Advertisement "Haha hell yeah," a fan said. "Well executed beer chug from the better Kelce," another wrote. "Mbit who's driving him home," added another. "Was it garage beer though?!!" one wrote. "JASONNN," said a fan. "I love that Jason's whole shtick is the retiree lifestyle. He's just having fun and hustling for side gigs. He was going to be a cattle farmer? What happened to the cattle btw?" one wrote. Kelce hasn't been shy about chugging beers at sporting events in front of a crowd. Travis Kelce, Jason Kelce's Names Engraved Forever After Costly Decision

Travis Kelce, Jason Kelce's Names Engraved Forever After Costly Decision originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and his brother, Jason Kelce, retired NFL center, both played their college football at the University of Cincinnati. Advertisement Despite where they are now, the University of Cincinnati remains a special place in their hearts and always has been. In 2024, they went back to campus to film an episode of their podcast. The event was called "New Heights Live: We Gotta Talk About It." As a way to give back to the school, the brothers donated a portion of their gross ticket sales to the official NIL collective of Cincinnati Athletics. The steps leading into the facility read both of the Kelce brothers' names. Advertisement The school wanted to honor its donors, and while there are rumors that getting a name on those steps requires a donation of $250,000 to $500,000, it's unclear how much they actually gave. It's worth noting, though, that Travis's Eighty-Seven & Running Foundation made a "substantial contribution" to the university back in 2022. Jason, who is two years older, joined the Cincinnati football team in 2006 and played three seasons after redshirting his freshman year. He was a two-time All-Big East Second Team selection in 2009 and 2010. Travis followed in 2008, also redshirting his first year before playing three seasons for the Bearcats. He missed the 2010 season due to a suspension for violating team rules but went on to earn First Team All-Big East honors in 2012. Philadelphia legend Fran Dunphy reunites with former player at 110th anniversary of Big Brothers Big Sisters

How the relationship between a legendary Philly coach and former player grew bigger than basketball How the relationship between a legendary Philly coach and former player grew bigger than basketball How the relationship between a legendary Philly coach and former player grew bigger than basketball Big Brothers Big Sisters of America hosted its national conference in Philadelphia this week. The longtime mentorship organization is celebrating its 110-year anniversary. For decades, the organization has paired mentors with young people to help set them up for success. And there's few better examples of that than the relationship between a retired college coach and one of his former players. The relationship between coach Fran Dunphy and Steve Nesmith started 46 years ago when Nesmith was a high school student. Dunphy coached a young Nesmith at Malvern Prep and later on at American University. It's where Dunphy became more than just a coach but also a Big Brother. "I can still hear Coach Dunphy in my mind: Be strong, don't give up, there's always tomorrow," Nesmith said. "I admire what he has accomplished. He is truly a good man, which means everything to me," Dunphy said. Dunphy went on to coach at the University of Pennsylvania, Temple University and La Salle University, becoming the all-time winningest coach in Philadelphia Big 5 history. He retired this year. Nesmith and Dunphy reunited at Big Brothers Big Sisters of America's national conference in Philadelphia. Dunphy has been part of the organization for years. Both are now reflecting on their 40 years of friendship and the impact they've had on each other's lives. "What I learned from Coach Dunphy, not just as a coach but in life, and I obtained life experiences through being around this gentleman, listening to him, because it was never about basketball," Nesmith said. Dunphy added, "There's something inside him that says, I want to do this, I want to get better, I want to be the best person I can be so, yeah, maybe I had a little role, but I wouldn't ever minimize what he's done on his own." CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters Independence, Marcus Allen, said Dunphy and Nesmith's story is one of countless examples of the difference a mentor can have on the lives of young people. "Big Brothers Big Sisters is here to not create potential in kids, we are here to protect it," Allen said. As for Dunphy and Nesmith, the two may have helped each other win basketball games, but they also helped each other win at life.
