On said that it teamed up with filmmaker Daniel Wolfe to create the campaign's hero film that aims to blend documentary-style visuals with Elmo's playful energy. On noted that the film aims to showcase 'genuine run culture' and to challenge the idea that success must stem from struggle, with Elmo sparking thoughtful conversations through gentle questions like, 'Elmo likes soft. Could that win?' Candid stills by photographer Samuel Bradley accompany the film.
'As a performance-driven brand, we wanted to challenge the idea that success in running is defined by intensity alone,' Alex Griffin, chief marketing officer at On, said in a statement. 'When thinking about who could embody the spirit of softness, Elmo and his kindness and compassion – not to mention his soft, red fur – immediately came to mind. With Elmo at the heart of 'Soft Wins,' we're encouraging runners to embrace self-compassion, community, and personal growth.'
To bring this message to life, On added that it has collaborated with Sesame Workshop, the nonprofit behind Sesame Street.
'Sesame Street is committed to empowering the young and young-at-heart with strategies to help build resiliency and promote emotional well-being,' Jen Ahearn, senior vice president of global strategic partnerships and themed entertainment at Sesame Workshop, added. 'We're thrilled to be a part of On's campaign that encourages runners of all types to try their best, support each other, and celebrate everyday joys with friends, families, and the wider community.'
In addition to the campaign, On is debuting its new Cloudsurfer 2 sneaker. Described by the company as its 'softest-ever running shoes,' the style features CloudTec Phase technology, a computer-optimized midsole that allows each 'cloud' to collapse sequentially, creating a smooth, rolling sensation with every step. The new sneaker also features a breathable, engineered mesh upper and a durable outsole for impact absorption.
The new Cloudsurfer 2 sneaker will launch in tandem with the campaign on Thursday in several colorways, including glacier/ivory and glacier/limelight as featured in the campaign. The shoe will launch alongside On's spring/summer 2025 run collection of apparel.
This latest campaign follows On's Super Bowl commercial that starred Roger Federer alongside Elmo. The spot showed Federer and Elmo playfully clearing up any confusion around On's brand name and logo in a 'memorable way.'

On Releasing The Roger Pro Fire Performance Tennis Shoe
Roger Federer's presence in tennis continues to grow, thanks to his burgeoning stable of tennis performance and lifestyle shoes from On. Next up: The Roger Pro Fire, launching Aug. 19. 'When we kicked off The Roger Pro Fire, the ambition was to create a shoe that was more rugged and protective in what it provided to high-level players,' Edwin Janes of On tennis product strategy tells me. 'Where The Roger Pro 2 was designed for more all-court play and agility, we focused on dialing up the durability and stability on the Pro Fire for aggressive lateral movements and sliding.' With that, the new The Roger Pro Fire focuses on protection in the upper, a revamped lacing system and an updated bottom unit that features a new Speedboard propulsion plate. Janes says that Flavio Cobolli was the first to switch to The Roger Pro Fire, followed by Joao Fonseca—Iga Swiatek and Ben Shelton wear The Roger Pro 2—giving On two distinct performance models on the tour. 'We're always looking to identify gaps in the range,' Janes says. 'The Roger Pro Fire represents an opportunity to deepen our footwear offer in tennis. Roger and the team recognized a gap in the product range: a shoe for the modern-day explosive and aggressive player, one that slides to corners even on hard courts and goes for aggressive cuts.' MORE: On's The Roger Footwear Line Modernizing And Growing To build the performance side of The Roger franchise—Janes says expanding the lineup by catering to all styles of tennis athletes was a must—a unique technical feature of The Roger Pro Fire is the bottom unit. The midsole features a softer foam underfoot for shock absorption and cushioning, surrounded by a stiffer foam for stability. The Speedboard plate—not made with carbon fiber like The Roger Pro and The Roger Pro 2—has a unique geometry that extends into the forefoot, engineered to provide support and energy return to the midfoot during lateral movement while still offering flexibility under the toe box, all without compromising stability. The lacing structure on The Roger Pro Fire is designed to give support and lockdown to the midfoot, Janes says. There's a caging system like The Roger Pro 1 and 2 but updated with laces at the top of the eyestay hidden on the medial (inside) to prevent breaking. Overlays and reinforcements on the medial side of the shoe are designed to stand up to sliding. 'The Roger Pro Fire was made for frequent, high-level, competitive tennis players who need their footwear to play as fast, strong and aggressive as they play,' Janes says. 'Players who favor an attacking baseline style and need a lot of protection with sliding will have a great option in the Pro Fire.' The Roger Pro Fire now sits alongside The Roger Pro and The Roger Pro 2 as high-level performance models. The Roger Advantage Pro and The Roger Clubhouse Pro offer everyday court-ready shoes, while the franchise includes the lifestyle offerings of The Roger Centre Court, The Roger Advantage, The Roger Clubhouse and The Roger Spin. Designers wanted to capture the energy and passion of Federer on the latest model, Janes says, so The Roger Pro Fire launches in a bold pink/flame colorway alongside a limited-edition black/pink colorway. 'Roger always challenges us to create footwear that looks great in addition to bringing elite performance,' Janes says, 'and we wanted to honor that with the design of the shoe.'

Super Bowl Smart Money
Super Bowl Smart Money originally appeared on The Spun. (Editor's note: This article is from The Spun by Athlon Sports' 2025 Football Betting Guide — the perfect preseason reference companion for new bettors or sharps alike. Order your copy today online, or pick one up at retail racks and newsstands nationwide.) So who's going to win it all in 2025? It's a question many have been asking since the final seconds ticked off the clock and the Philadelphia Eagles were crowned Super Bowl LIX champions. Although last year's preseason smart money moved toward the Eagles, they were still the fourth choice at most books when the 2024 season kicked off, behind heavy favorites Kansas City (+400) and San Francisco (+500), as well as Baltimore (+1000). This time, Philadelphia is either the sole favorite or co-favorite to go back-to-back for the first time in franchise history. The team's preseason consensus Super Bowl price: +650. That, however, doesn't mean the defending champs are an overwhelming chalk to repeat. In fact, they're among six teams with single-digit Super Bowl odds (shorter than 10/1). So back to the question: Who will hoist the Lombardi Trophy after Super Bowl LX? Let's tackle it like smart bettors did a year ago — by prioritizing value. 'The best way to find futures value is through regression,' says Establish the Run co-founder Adam Levitan, one of the most respected names in DFS and sports betting. 'Did an outlier percentage of a team's drives [result in] short field goals instead of touchdowns last season? Has a team's offseason moves, especially with coaching and offensive line play, given us a reason to believe a quarterback can make a leap?' Like many sharp bettors, Levitan prefers making his futures bets in early awards markets. But the same regression premise can be applied to Super Bowl wagering, as well as other futures markets. For example, the Chicago Bears (+3500) revamped their offensive line and added the offseason's biggest prize in head coach Ben Johnson. Those moves give quarterback Caleb Williams a clear shot at taking a major leap in 2025. In a best-case scenario, Williams becomes part of the MVP conversation, which in turn makes the Bears a potential title contender. That sentiment is evident in early NFL championship markets. Example: Chicago is among five teams with the highest Super Bowl ticket counts at FanDuel. The Lions, Bills, Eagles and Commanders are the others. So not only are the Bears well-positioned to take a step forward in 2025, but they're extremely popular among Super Bowl futures bettors — factors that are driving up their ticket volume (and driving down their price). When it comes to early Super Bowl handle at FanDuel, the Eagles, Bills, Lions, Chiefs and Ravens lead the way. No surprises there, as those are widely viewed as the top five teams in the league. However, simply betting on the 'best' teams isn't the only smart consideration when betting preseason futures. For instance, the schedule greatly influences when one should place a Super Bowl bet on any of those teams. Baltimore and Kansas City face very tough starts, with more manageable second halves. Therefore, if you like the Ravens (+700) or Chiefs (+850) to win it all, consider waiting to place your wager. The Bills, on the other hand, kick off the 'Sunday Night Football' schedule against the Ravens. After Baltimore, Buffalo doesn't face another contender until Week 9 (Kansas City). So if you're high on the Bills (+750), bet them before Week 1. At Circa Sports, widely regarded as the sharpest sportsbook in the country, risk manager Dylan Sullivan says the property is heavy to Philadelphia in Super Bowl tickets, but the most money has come in on Buffalo. Again, early money in futures markets is often sharp money. Translation: The smart money in 2025 is on the Bills. Here are the most recent Super Bowl odds from bet365 (editor's note: these odds are updated from odds that appear in the magazine): TEAM ODDS Buffalo Bills +650 Baltimore Ravens +650 Philadelphia Eagles +700 Kansas City Chiefs +800 Detroit Lions +1100 Los Angeles Rams +2000 San Francisco 49ers +2000 Washington Commanders +2000 Green Bay Packers +2000 Cincinnati Bengals +2200 Minnesota Vikings +2200 Denver Broncos +2500 Tampa Bay Buccaneers +2500 Los Angeles Chargers +2800 Houston Texans +2800 Chicago Bears +4000 Pittsburgh Steelers +4000 Dallas Cowboys +5000 Arizona Cardinals +5000 Seattle Seahawks +6000 Atlanta Falcons +7000 New England Patriots +7500 Jacksonville Jaguars +7500 Miami Dolphins +8000 Indianapolis Colts +10000 Las Vegas Raiders +12500 Carolina Panthers +15000 New York Giants +17500 Tennessee Titans +20000 New York Jets +25000 Cleveland Browns +30000 New Orleans Saints +40000Super Bowl Smart Money first appeared on The Spun on Aug 18, 2025 This story was originally reported by The Spun on Aug 18, 2025, where it first appeared.

Steelers' Mike Tomlin Explains Why Aaron Rodgers is 'Contagious'
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. The Pittsburgh Steelers decided to swing big this offseason, acquiring quarterback Aaron Rodgers, wide receiver D.K. Metcalf and cornerback Jalen Ramsey to help them make a strong Super Bowl push. Obviously, Rodgers is the biggest name of the bunch, and after a forgettable year with the New York Jets in 2024, the future Hall-of-Famer seems ready to re-establish himself as an elite signal-caller this fall. More news: 49ers Trade Proposal Lands Major Christian McCaffrey Insurance Of course, Rodgers is 41 years old, so there are a whole lot of people doubting whether or not he can still play at a high level. That being said, he did throw for 3,897 yards, 28 touchdowns and 11 interceptions last season, so perhaps the talk of his demise has been largely exaggerated. Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin seems very excited to get things going with Rodgers under center, and he is already appreciating the significant effect that the four-time MVP has had on his teammates. "He loves football," Tomlin said, via Mike Jones of The Athletic. "That's the thing that's on the tip of my tongue. He displays it daily. He has a love affair with this game — one that he's willing to share with others. He's passionate about it, and I think it's contagious." The franchise has not won a playoff game since January 2017, and that's in spite of making five postseason appearances since then. Poor quarterback play has been a major problem in Steel City for the last several years, so maybe Rodgers can change things? There is reason to have trepidation when it comes to Rodgers. He really hasn't been great since 2021, when he totaled 37 touchdowns and four picks en route to winning his second straight MVP award with the Green Bay Packers. He looked very mortal in 2022, missed all but one series of his debut campaign with the Jets in 2023 due to a torn Achilles and went just 5-12 last year. That being said, there is plenty of reason to still have faith in Rodgers, who looked very impressive for stretches in 2024 and could strongly benefit from playing for a team that has not posted a losing record since 2003. More news: Raiders Outlook Hints Geno Smith Move Was Big Mistake Let's face it: no one has been able to succeed with the Jets for the last decade-and-a-half, so maybe, just maybe, Rodgers wasn't the problem there. The Steelers could definitely afford to add some proven depth at wide receiver, but perhaps Rodgers can get the most out of youngsters like Roman Wilson and Calvin Austin III. And of course, he has Metcalf, too. For more on the Steelers and NFL, head to Newsweek Sports.
