A Siberian husky named Bond has left viewers on Instagram in stitches after pulling off a Houdini-worthy escape from his fenced enclosure—and his owners did not even know he had done it until they checked their security camera.
The security footage, shared to Instagram by @jackiethehusky on November 11, shows Bond shimmying under a metal fence in his yard with a mix of agility and determination. Since being posted, the video has been viewed more than 8 million times and liked by over 160,000 users, leaving viewers both entertained and incredulous.
"When someone tells you huskies are escape artists—believe them," the video's overlaid text reads, echoing the sentiments of thousands of them.
In a caption accompanying the post, Bond's owners explained that the escape came as a complete surprise: "When we couldn't figure out how Bond ended up on the opposite side of one of the many fences we have in the yard, we checked our camera and found out we have a new Houdini."
Speaking to Newsweek, Bond's owner Andra Ellingson confirmed that the canine is living up to the husky reputation.
"We are longtime Siberian husky lovers, having gotten our first one in 2001," she said. "We currently have the two—Bond and Jon Snow.
"Bond is our escape artist, he slid under the gate between his dog run, which is a large area, and into our backyard, in 10 years, none of our dogs had ever attempted this and we didn't think it was possible!"
She described Bond as "small, determined, and very clever." Though the video gives the impression of a modest setup, Ellingson said their yard is equipped with numerous gates specifically designed to contain their energetic dogs.
Still, that has not stopped Bond from trying his luck.

The post's caption explained that Bond's owners have since adapted the fence to try and keep him in, but that they are not optimistic this solution will last for long.
Nicknamed "Demon" at home for his constant mischief, Bond is 5 years old and brimming with personality.
"He is extremely smart and calculating, but he is also very affectionate," Ellingson said.
His sibling Jon Snow, in contrast, is a 7-year-old husky with a gentler demeanor.
"He just wants to be petted," Ellingson added. "He will play with Bond but after a while likes his alone time. He is a gentleman, often sitting with paws crossed."
The duo's antics—and particularly Bond's recent breakout—have captured the imagination of dog lovers across the platform.
"That's pretty impressive," one viewer said, while another added: "What magic trick is [this]?"
As Ellingson quipped, the fence may have been reinforced, "until he figures out how to get out from that one too."

Man, 34, Has Message for Gen Zers Who Think He's Old

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. A millennial has gone viral for reminding Gen Z that their elders aren't exactly ancient. Mike Mancusi (@mikemancusi), 34, and a comedian who works in tech sales from New York City, posted a TikTok that quickly gained traction with viewers. The video, which resonated with both millennials and Gen Zers, stemmed from what Mancusi calls a broader social observation rather than a specific encounter. "It honestly wasn't any incident or specific interaction I had with an individual. I'm just a comedian and make societal observations," Mancusi told Newsweek. "I feel like Gen Zers tie a lot of their identity to their youth and look at millennials as the elder wise men, and wise women. And, while I do appreciate that, I'm also just, like, we're only, like, five years from where you are. We're not Gandalf. But also, I'm sure every single generation feels this way about the younger generation. I seriously doubt this is a unique generational relationship," Mancusi added. In his video, which garnered more than 30,700 likes and over 314,000 views, Mancusi reflects on his experience interacting with people in their early- to mid-twenties. He said he often feels the urge to shake them and shout, "I'm not that far off from you," because there is often a sense of generational arrogance—one he admits he also had at that age. Mancusi said that people in their early twenties tend to view 34 as a distant, mature stage of life, but in reality: "The only way that you don't become me soon is if you die." He added that life moves quickly, and that realization can be unsettling. Mancusi said the core of his message comes from personal experience—particularly the shock of how fast time seems to pass after 25. This awareness, he added, can spiral into anxiety about making the most of life, chasing dreams, and the fleeting nature of it all. Still, he said he wants younger people to take away one thing: "YOU ARE NOT OLD. I'M NOT EVEN OLD." Mancusi warned against rushing into adulthood just because college is over. Instead, he encourages people to pursue passion-driven work, even if it means doing it on the side while holding a job that pays the bills. He added that, without a creative or fulfilling outlet, people risk slowly "crushing" their own spirits as they age. "I think Gen Zers are mostly just, like, 'Shut up old man,' and millennials are, like, 'Listen to him,'" he said, noting a generational split in how his message is received. Mancusi added that, while he used to be insecure about aging, he has grown to appreciate his 30s, calling the decade fulfilling, despite larger societal issues such as the pandemic and political turmoil. Mancusi also said there has been a major generational shift in how younger people view work. He added that millennials were the last generation sold on the idea that traditional 9-to-5 jobs equaled stability and success. While millennials often "shrug that kind of stuff off," Gen Zers push back. Finally, Mancusi stressed the importance of health. He said he wants younger people to know that aging doesn't have to mean physical decline—but only if you start taking care of yourself early. "Take care of it, and you can and will age better," he said, citing meditation, stress reduction, and regular exercise as vital habits. "I'm in my 30s and in the best shape of my life." Viewers across TikTok quickly jumped into the comments with their own takes. "Gonna be 37 in August and I was 26 two months ago," wrote one user named Lex. "Gen Z personality is literally that they're young," posted another. "One minute you're 27 & two seconds later you're 32," added Amber Brookes. Others reflected on the generational divide with a mix of amusement and frustration. "As a core millennial when I was early 20s I thought mid 30s was kinda old … but I wasn't obsessed with it," commented a user named Evan. Another person posted: "Yeah talked with someone who's 25, I'm 32, and they said: your generation will never understand. We 7 years apart!!! We were in same school in the same time." Jason Day Emulates John Daly with US Open Malbon Look

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Australian golfer Jason Day and Malbon Golf have done it again. On Tuesday at the U.S. Open, the Aussie stopped people in their tracks as he wore a bold outfit that featured full-on American flag shorts. It seemed like the 2015 PGA Championship winner giving a nod to John Daly, who famously rocked similar attire. This outfit very well could be the 2025 version of last year's Masters vest, but better. Photo byFans seemed shocked to see an international player don the Red, White and Blue. As an Australian citizen, Day made an interesting choice, but it again brought so many eyes to Malbon. This brand knows how to draw the eye, and they have a player willing to do it confidently. It is a massive leap from the sweatsuit he wore Sunday at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. Many people dislike Malbon because of their non-traditional approach to golf fashion, but this outfit likely won over many haters. Day wore a navy polo from Malbon's new Eagle Buckets collection. He also donned the white pullover from the latest release with an American star collar with red details. The fans could not get enough of this patriotic moment, and their reactions were spot on. One of the best posts about the shorts came from X user, ANTIFAldo, who immediately thought of Daly when he saw Day's outfit, captioning the post "this is John G'Daly." Daly has worn multiple pairs of American flag pants throughout the years. He is notorious for loud pants and has always been unapologetically himself in them. Happy Birthday to British Open Champion and a true american, John Daly #TreysBirthdayTweets — The Main On Trey Comedy Page🇬🇧 (@SportsRM749) April 28, 2025 Thankfully, Malbon styled it with class because there is a fine line when wearing something as impactful as the American flag. It can get cheesy fast. Malbon's choices were not cheesy at all, but very stylish. Sure, the pullover had a wild collar, but it was still subtle enough not to overshadow the shorts, which were the clear statement piece. Leave it up to the Australian golfer to show the Americans how to dress for their national championship. Day lives in Cleveland, Ohio, but it is bold and surprising of him to break out the full Red, White, and Blue outfit. Jason Day: Born in Australia, lives in Cleveland, lover of the red, white, and blue. — Mark Harris (@itismarkharris) June 10, 2025 Fans seem to be coming around to the wild outfits from Malbon, especially ones that pay respect to this country. Things have come a long way since April 2024, when the world stopped for Jason Day's vest. These shorts may surpass the popularity of that first viral moment.
