Jurassic World Rebirth star Jonathan Bailey feels 'incredibly lucky'

Jonathan Bailey feels he's been "incredibly lucky" in his career.
The 37-year-old actor stars alongside the likes of Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali, and Rupert Friend in Jurassic World Rebirth, and Jonathan feels fortunate to be part of the long-running film franchise.
He told E! News: "When you're in the jungle in Thailand, and [director] Gareth Edwards is operating the camera, and every member of the crew has that love and reverence for the original film, it's an amazing place to be."
Jonathan has enjoyed an impressive run of success in recent times, starring in the Wicked movie and Bridgerton, the hit Netflix series.
The actor is now enjoying the experience of promoting Jurassic World Rebirth, describing the new movie as "the summer blockbuster".
He said: "I feel incredibly lucky to be a part of this, to get people back into the theatres this summer for the summer blockbuster, and celebrate so much brilliance and nostalgia. It's a love letter."
Meanwhile, Jonathan recently revealed that he "nearly didn't audition" for Bridgerton.
The actor has starred on the Netflix show since 2020 - but Jonathan was actually keen to take a career break before he committed himself to the project.
He told The Hollywood Reporter: "I got sent it and I nearly didn't audition.
"At that time, I was really done. I just needed to go and experience the world."
However, Jonathan's attitude changed completely after he read the script.
He said: "I remember just being like, 'Wow, this is going to be massive.'"
Jonathan found shooting Bridgerton to be an "all-encompassing" experience, and he actually welcomed returning to his theatre roots in recent years.
The actor - who returned to London's West End after the second season of Bridgerton - explained: "When you go and film something like Bridgerton, and you say goodbye to your friends, your family, it's all-encompassing.
"I read an interview with Walton Goggins where he was saying he was glad that even now White Lotus didn't happen to him 10 years ago because he wouldn't have known what to do with that. And I just feel that maybe Bridgerton was just a smidge quicker than I was prepared for.
"Going back to theatre, working with people that I know, that has helped."

Nikki Garcia believes she was seen as 'villian' in Artem Chigvintsev divorce

Nikki Garcia believes she was seen as the "villain" in her split from Artem Chigvintsev. The WWE star - who is also known as Nikki Bella - split from the Dancing With the Stars professional last August after two years of marriage following a row which saw police called to their home, and she hit out at the double standards of how men and women are portrayed by the media. In a preview from her appearance on Kristin Cavallari's Honestly Cavallari: The Headline Tour obtained by E! News, she said: "I think they make me, like, more of a villain than I am." Her twin sister, Brie Garcia, agreed: "Oh, for sure. Especially out of your divorce." Kristin - whose own marriage to Jay Cutler ended in 2022 - added: "Of course, you're a woman." Both Nikki and Brie believe their images as wrestlers make people think they are tougher than they are. Nikki said: "I feel like when you're badass women and you kick ass in a ring, people just assume you're not empathetic. "It's like we could go kick so much a**and, yeah, I'll pick a guy out in the crowd. I'll body slam you right now. I can do it... "I'll pay for your hospital bill." Brie agreed: "Because we're pro wrestlers and all these things, we can come off so hard and tough." Nikki added: "I think that's the biggest misconception." And Nikki - who has four-year-old Matteo with Artem - claimed her WWE persona was also used against her during her legal battle with the former Dancing with the Stars professional. She said: "People bring up like, 'Well I don't know, 2017, your character in the ring.... I'm like, 'That's not real. I was playing a villain.' I was playing a character and they all think I'm that person. I mean, I heard it in court through the divorce. Because I was a strong woman, a pro wrestler." Kristin fumed: "You should not be able to use anything in entertainment. That's bulls***." The 38-year-old star admitted her own public confessions had also coloured people's image of her. She added: "Or, with me, they always want to make it about sex. Like, I said a lot more than just that. It drives me insane." Following Nikki and Artem's row, the 42-year-old dancer was arrested amid allegations of domestic violence, but was not charged and he recently admitted the incident "ruined" his life. He told the Glamourous Grind podcast: "It completely ruined everything for me. From every angle, it ruined my life completely. "The worst part of all of this was because the [district attorney] dropped the case, clearly stating there was nothing they could possibly have charged me on. ""When people see that mugshot. For them, in their mind, you are immediately guilty. "There is nothing you can say or try to justify yourself to change their minds.' Artem noted there was no hesitation on his part when it came to ending the marriage. He explained: "I wanted it to be over. I needed to go back to live my life and I need to move on — emotionally, financially — and I just wanted my life to be normal again.' The couple shared differing accounts on what had happened during the row that led to Artem's arrest and later sought restraining orders against one another, though they have now been dismissed.

Brandon Flynn cast as James Dean

Brandon Flynn will play James Dean in a new biopic. The 13 Reasons Why actor has been cast as the late legendary star in Willie and Jimmy Dean, writer-director Guy Guido's upcoming film, which is based on William Bast's 2006 memoir Surviving James Dean, in which he alleged he had a love affair with the Hollywood icon at the University of California, Los Angeles. Brandon, 31, has praised the script for humanising his character and showing an understanding of who he really was. He told The Hollywood Reporter: 'James Dean is like the known unknown. His short life left behind just three films, a mountain of photographs and a cultural mythology we keep trying to decode. This script is a beautiful attempt at truthfully understanding who he really was — not just the icon, but the man. "It highlights how Hollywood has historically forced LGBTQ people into performance, even in their personal lives. 'This story dares to present James Dean as a man with real, complex relationships, and I think there's power in that truth." The script is set from the first meeting between the two men to James' death in September 1955 and Guy is delighted to have Brandon on board. He said: 'This is not a traditional biopic. It's a tender and sometimes tragic story about two young men who found each other in a time and place where being seen — truly seen — came at a cost. Brandon Flynn brings both the fire and vulnerability this role demands. I couldn't imagine anyone more perfect to explore and play out the complexities of James Dean.' The fimmaker, who spoke to William in 2011, four years before his death at the age of 84, previously told how he felt "drawn" to the author's "unique story". He told The Hollywood Reporter: 'I have been a fan and historian of James Dean since I was 18 years old, so I knew about his 'friend' Willie, even when information about their relationship was straight-washed by the Hollywood machine. 'As a filmmaker, I love telling the story of a celebrity's life in their coming-of-age period. As a gay man, I was particularly drawn to Bast's unique story.' In the book, William claimed he and the Hollywood legend become roommates, close friends and eventually lovers during their time at the UCLA's theatre programme when the pair were 19. The author - who also wrote James Dean: A Biography in 1956 - claimed the fling was kept private in an effort to protect the actor's flourishing Hollywood career, though he hoped he could reunite with his supposed forbidden lover one day. However, the writer's dream of a relationship was cruelly taken away from him when the Rebel Without a Cause star died in a car accident at the age of 24 in 1955.
