Jess Glynne finally meets Jet2 voiceover artist taking over our summer
Jess Glynne and Zoe Lister – the two people behind the viral TikTok sound of the summer – have finally met in person for the first time. The London singer-songwriter, 35, and the Worcester actress, 43, had their work combined by budget airline Jet2 years ago for an advertisement campaign. Jess' 2015 UK number one song Hold My Hand has been the signature tune for Jet2 adverts – and onboard Jet2 flights – for many years now. Former Hollyoaks actress Zoe was later hired by the airline to produce the now-famous 'Nothing beats a Jet2 holiday' voiceover on a number of their TV spots. The sound clip of the Jet2 Hold My Hand mash-up has spread all over TikTok and beyond during the heatwave-hit British summer of 2025, becoming a viral sensation. To celebrate, Capital Breakfast with Jordan North got Jess and Zoe in a room together for the very first time on Monday morning, with the pair joining in on the meme fun. 'It's happening! It's happening!' he screamed as Zoe entered the studio and gave Jess a massive hug, while there were calls for everybody to 'calm down' off-camera. Co-host Chris Stark asked Jess: 'You know what's coming, right? We've got to chat about it. Of course, talking about Hold My Hand… You always hear that song whenever you go on a plane. 'Then it's in the advert. And then, for reasons no one really understands, this summer, it just exploded on TikTok. Has it surprised you how massive this has all gone? Jess replied that she was grateful for the renewed interest in the song: 'Yeah, it's a massive surprise 100%. It's the most amazing thing to see though.' Jess then performed her own version of Zoe's famous voiceover, reading the full script out in the studio: 'Nothing beats a Jet2 holiday. And right now, you can save £50 per person. That's £200 off for a family of four.' Her rendition was greeted with massive cheers in the studio, including from Zoe herself, who laughed along to Jess' impression of her. Zoe then gave an impromptu live performance of her famous voiceover while Hold My Hand played in the background, once again being received by loud cheering from the hosts. More Trending Hold My Hand spent three weeks at number one in 2015 and spent 51 weeks in total on the UK charts, eventually being certified 3x Platinum by the British Phonographic Industry. Zoe starred as Zoe Carpenter on Hollyoaks between 2006 and 2010, also appearing on Big Brother's Little Brother and T4 On the Beach around the same time. In the 2010s, she turned towards theatre – she was celebrated for her performance as Lady Macbeth during a 2012 run of the William Shakespeare play. However, one holidaymaker didn't get quite what he was expecting on a recent break. Brad Ben, from Dublin, recently took a trip to Galway, and spent his time there in a modern looking hotel room. Sharing a clip of the inside of his room on TikTok, Ben used the audio from the famous Jet 2 advert, narrated by Hollyoaks' Zoe Lister, and featuring Jess Glynne's iconic hit Hold My Hand. It has become a popular trend in recent weeks to use the audio alongside a holiday 'fail'. In the video, Ben can be seen strutting across his hotel room, before opening up his thick floor length curtains. Where you would expect to see a large window, showing panoramic views, there was a teeny tiny square one, reminiscent of a ship's porthole. "Appreciating those views", he joked. The view has left people in hysterics, racking up an astronomical 239 million views on the video sharing platform. In a second video, Ben showed viewers what he could see through the window, placing his camera right up to the glass to show the Irish countryside opposite his hotel. TikTok users flooded the comments section of the video, to share their disbelief at the view. One person said: "Are you in jail?" Write a list Think about all the essentials you need to take with you; suncream, medicine, a few games for the kids, beach towels, and write everything in one list, which you can tick off as you add it to your suitcase. Involve your kids Jemma said: 'My girls are getting older, they're 11 and nine, and they enjoy helping to pack. So I send them a list, and say 'this is what you need' and they follow the list. 'And then I give them a rucksack each - and say to them 'you can have whatever you want in there as long as it's not liquid', and they can take that on the plane. And that's their 'home away from home' items.' 3. Try a hack or two She said: "I think they all work, but for different reasons - and you've just got to pick the right one for your trip. "Rolling your clothes is really good to stop your clothes from getting creases. And if you're trying to get a lot of items into your case, it's a space saver. 'Packing cubes are great - for example, I'm going on holiday with my three kids and we're all using the same suitcase for our clothes. "These handy compartments let you separate your clothes, toiletries and tech into designated cubes, maximising luggage space by keeping your items compressed and neatly stacked. "I love taking them abroad with the family and it means my kids can easily take charge of their own items once we've arrived." 4. Decant beauty products Do you really need to take full-size bottles of shampoo and conditioner with you? The beauty industry has evolved so much, you can now buy shampoo bars or sheets - which are much lighter and smaller. Or, if you'll be popping to the shops when you're abroad, consider buying some items when you arrive. 5. Get organised before you come home Jemma said: 'When you repack on holiday [before coming home], the trick is to separate clean from dirty clothes. 'Also pack it in some form of order - so lights, darks, colours for items that need washing, or if you wash your clothes by person in the household, piles for each person. "Then you can put it straight into the washing machine. Do it straight away, don't leave it." Another said: "They have a nerve to put a curtain over that." A third person exclaimed: "I was not expecting this one bit." A fourth added: "I dunno what I was expecting but it deffo wasn't that window."

Coronation Street's Maureen Lipman reveals retirement plans as she makes 80th birthday vow
Maureen Lipman reaches a significant milestone next year, but the Coronation Street star has no plans to call it a day even though she says the ITV soaps has some faults TV legend Maureen Lipman will never retire and she has vowed to keep working until she loses her mind or her movement. The 79-year-old actor is a regular on TV thanks to her role as Coronation Street 's Evelyn Plummer, and still treads the boards on a regular basis. Speaking on the 20 Questions podcast ahead of her 80th birthday next year, she said: 'I will carry on, as much as I'm wanted, I'll carry on until my brain goes - or my legs! 'You can only take what you're offered. It's not been a career where I've thought, 'Shall I take the Bond film? Or shall I do the play The Cherry Orchard?' I'm more likely to be asked to be in Carry On Columbus. That's because I'm a bit light entertainment. So a lot of work is not coming my way, am I bitter? No, I'm not, I've always worked, I've worked though two pregnancies and young children, I've worked through good times and sad times.' The actress plays Weatherfield matriarch Evelyn on the ITV soap and is one of the soap's most popular characters with viewers. But she also criticised Corrie for its lack of good directors, filming time and consistent scripts, saying that working on Corrie came with a multitude of challenges. Saying she had to use her experience to make her character shine on screen, she said that a lot of the filming and writing was not up to scratch. 'One of the problems of being in a soap, for example, is because you're doing eight or 10 scenes a day, you read it, you move it, and then you film it. Boom, boom, thank you, and have another crack at it if something has gone wrong, but on the whole that's it. It's almost like radio, but there's cameras there. 'You can't do anything. People are just talking heads. They're standing there going, 'Don't you talk to me like that…' if it's EastEnders. Or, 'I'll have a word with you…' if it's Coronation Street. Nobody is picking their nose or scrubbing the sink down while they're talking, or making three Martinis. It's all just heads talking. That's not what life is like. You're in a bedroom somewhere and you're talking to me, you're listening, you're making notes … I'm picking up my phone … It's very complicated a human life, you never just do one thing. 'My first day on Coronation Street I took my coat off and then I put it back on again and Barbara [Knox} gently said to me, 'We don't do anything.' I said, 'What do you mean?' She went, 'There's no time to do anything. For me, acting is doing, so that is hard.' Maureen said she loved being told what to do by a strong production team. 'As far as directors are concerned it's a curious egg. I would love to work with somebody who knows more than I do about what you do on stage. That happens, but not always. Particularly in television, certainly on something like Corrie, you hardly get any direction at all.' Maureen insists one of the major challenges for the drama is that the episodes are penned by aa variety of people who write differently for Evelyn, meaning she often changes the words to make her lines work. Lipman – who was married to late Coronation Street writer Jack Rosenthal – told 20 Questions: 'You can only be as good as your writer. 'So often you are making things work on television particularly. Slightly altering the words. Think about Coronation Street, which I love doing and I'm very fond of it, and I love the fact I can pop in and out. But every episode is a different writer so you basically never get, what you used to get when Jack wrote it, you would write a block of six, so the same voice, the same rhythms and you didn't have to worry about whether the words suited your character, it was there, it was a single voice. 'A lot of the time now, in a series, you've got a different writer each one. You're sort of having to fit it into your mouth like a big fur glove and make it in character. That can make you a bit unpopular if you do it too much.' Despite Maureen's criticisms, she has nothing but praise for the casting director Gennie Radcliffe who she says fills the soap with actors who are perfect for their parts. She said: 'One of the good things about Coronation Street is that the casting is absolutely brilliant, we very rarely get a dud, they're cast perfectly. There's a big pool out there, a lesser casting director would get it wrong.'
