Marseille interested in Premier League and Bundesliga target Johan Bakayoko
According to a report from La Provence, Olympique de Marseille are interested in PSV winger Johan Bakayoko (22), who remains a target for clubs in the Premier League and the Bundesliga.
Marseille are in the market for a winger this summer following the departure of Luis Henrique (23) to Internazionale Milan. However, they have yet to make great strides in finding a replacement for the Brazilian.

There had been reports that the club were interested in Bakayoko's teammate Noa Lang (26), but the Dutchman appears close to a move to Serie A side Napoli, while interest in FC Copenhagen's Roony Bardghji (19) collapsed over fitness concerns.
La Provence writes that Marseille have not progressed much with their interest in Bakayoko, with the Marseille-based outlet writing that PSV have only heard of the club's interest, while other teams have made more concrete moves.
The Belgian winger's contract with the Dutch champions expires in 2026, so there is perhaps an onus on PSV to sell this summer to avoid losing him for free.

Oscar Piastri says he and Lando Norris remain 'free to race' for the F1 title
SPIELBERG, Austria (AP) — Oscar Piastri says he and McLaren teammate Lando Norris are 'still free to race' for the Formula 1 title after their collision at the Canadian Grand Prix. Norris apologized after clipping Piastri's car and hitting the wall in Canada 11 days ago. The incident ended Norris' race but Piastri finished fourth to extend his standings lead to 22 points over Norris. Speaking on Thursday ahead of the Austrian Grand Prix, Piastri dismissed suggestions that the incident might prompt a rethink of McLaren's in-house 'papaya rules' for battles between its drivers, or even that a time might be near when McLaren might favor Piastri over Norris. The rules remain the 'same as always,' Piastri said. 'What happened in Canada wasn't ideal, but we're still free to race, still fighting for a championship each,' Piastri said. 'We'll keep going racing and make sure that we don't come into contact again.' He added: 'The first rule, regardless of whether it's written down or not, is that the two cars from the same team don't crash.' No McLaren driver has won F1 since a young Lewis Hamilton in 2008. Defending champion Max Verstappen of Red Bull is Piastri's and Norris' closest non-McLaren challenger, 43 points off the lead. Asked if he foresees a time when he could argue to McLaren's leadership that he should be favored over Norris, Piastri said he didn't want to discuss it. While 'ultimately it can only be one of us,' Piastri said, 'I think the situation has to change dramatically to start having those conversations and they're a very long way away at the moment. At the moment, all I can ask for is a fair chance to try and win the championship and that's what I want as well. So no, I'm not willing to enter those talks at all.' ___ AP auto racing:

Valencia secure €322m funding to finally complete Nou Mestalla stadium
Valencia have announced the securing of €322million in funding organised through Goldman Sachs which the La Liga club say will allow them to finally complete the long-delayed new Nou Mestalla stadium. The 70,000-capacity stadium is now due to be ready in 2027, with Valencia's announcement saying a €237m loan would be paid back over 28 years, while €85 million of the financing would be prepaid from selling the land on which its current Mestalla ground sits. Advertisement 'This marks a historic milestone for Valencia CF,' Valencia president Kiat Lim said in the statement. 'Securing this landmark financing gives us the green light to deliver Nou Mestalla — a world-class stadium that will power the club's growth for generations. It is the clearest expression of our long-term commitment to Valencia, and a reflection of the trust and confidence the club now commands in global financial markets. 'With this agreement, we are building more than a stadium — we are building the future of Valencia CF.' Valencia's new stadium was first announced in November 2006, and work started the following August. Work was halted in February 2009, when the club's then owners ran out of money, after around €100m had already been spent constructing a concrete bowl base. Current club owner Peter Lim (Kiat's father) was then involved in a long-running dispute with the local authorities over permits required for construction, which were finally resolved ahead of work restarting at the site in January 2025. €80m from La Liga's deal with private equity fund CVC has already been committed to paying for the new stadium, with over €30m also raised through the sale of over 40,000 square metres of space beside the new ground for the construction of two residential and commercial towers. Among the club's legacy financial problems inherited by Lim was an €89m loan with local lender Caixabank, for which the old stadium was collateral. Last November, Valencia announced a debt restructuring which included a long-term corporate facility of €121m and a short-term bridging loan facility of €65m, provided by Goldman Sachs. Nou Mestalla will also feature around 7,000 VIP seats and facilities for non-football events, so the stadium can provide a boost to club revenues, help pay back the costs of construction, and their other existing liabilities. Valencia fans might receive the news of the new financing agreement with mixed feelings. The Lim family are very unpopular in the city, with regular protests against their ownership, so this apparent reaffirmation of their long-term commitment makes a sale of the club in the short or medium-term seems less likely. Advertisement There is also a deep emotional connection to the Mestalla ground, currently the oldest in La Liga, where Valencia have played since 1923. The 2027 completion date also puts the new stadium back in the running for games when Spain co-hosts the 2030 World Cup, after it was left out of the initial Spanish federation plan for the tournament. Florian Thauvin extends contract at Udinese
A key figure in Udinese Calcio's previous Italian Serie A campaign will be sticking around a little longer. The club agreed on Wednesday to extend the contract of captain Florian Thauvin (32) until June 2026. A World Cup champion with France in 2018, the former Olympique de Marseille striker arrived at Udinese in January 2023 after struggling to find his footing with Mexican side Tigres in Liga MX. In 2024-25 he made 25 appearances for I Bianconeri in the Italian top flight, finding the back of the net eight times. Advertisement Since arriving at the Italian club, he has scored 15 goals and registered 10 assists. He's appeared in 73 Serie A matches over that span in two and a half seasons in Italy. Last season, he helped them finish 12th in the league. He has made 10 appearances with Les Bleus, scoring just once on the international stage. GFFN | Joel Lefevre
