No more Yaris! Rachel Kolisi reveals Chinese 'upgrade'
The ex-rugby WAG shocked her followers with the Instagram post, which she has since deleted.
Rachel – who announced her split from Siya last October – has been navigating her new chapter as a single mom.
In her latest Instagram post, Rachel Kolisi shared a look at her new ride, an SUV made by Chinese car manufacturer Jetour.
'Very excited and very grateful to be a part of the @jetour_south_africa family!' she shared of the brand partnership.
The car deal has been sponsored by Livingstone Sports Management, the same company her brother Joel Smith works for. View this post on Instagram

In the comments section, many of her followers were happy to see her bounce back.
@nosiphoarmstrong: 'And this, ladies and gentlemen, is how you turn lemons into lemonade! Speak out. Rise. Do you! The world will follow!'
@missmay1644: 'No more Yaris 🤣🤣. Congratulations to you!'
@lerato_wartbooi: 'Thank you for reminding us over and over again that God restores!'.
In a since-deleted Instagram post last month, Rachel Kolisi introduced her followers to her Toyota Yaris, which she had affectionately named 'Betsy.' The older model was a far cry from the top-of-the-range Mercedes-Benz she had driven just days before.
The influencer and philanthropist captioned the post: 'Life has a funny way of humbling you just when you think you've got it all figured out. One day you're riding high, the next you're asking a friend to borrow their spare car and googling 'how to parallel park a Yaris with dignity.' Rachel Kolisi – the former wife of Siya Kolisi – deleted an IG post about her modest car.

The mother-of-two added: 'It's not forever. It's just a chapter. But honestly? Betsy (the car) and I are kind of vibing, and I still nail clutch control.'

Leaked patent diagrams give a glimpse of the new Toyota Hilux
A series of patent diagrams detailing the interior of the soon-to-be-released ninth-generation Toyota Hilux have been leaked online. Appearing on the Instagram account cars_secrets, the technical drawings reveal an updated cabin featuring a new dashboard and a large, freestanding touchscreen infotainment system – probably the same 12.3" unit used in the Land Cruiser Prado. Entry-level and workhorse Hilux models will no doubt make do with smaller screens. Below the display sit a pair of horizontal centre air vents and a panel for the HVAC controls. Whether these are physical (let's hope so) or capacitive (let's hope not) remains to be seen. Other standout interior details include a chunky new gear lever design with a small rectangular switchgear panel beside it, what appear to be cupholders placed in front of the side air vents and a second enclosed storage area above the cubby hole. The absence of a mechanical handbrake on the redesigned centre console suggests the fitment of an electronic parking brake. While the instrument cluster is lacking in detail, it's most likely that higher-spec Hilux models will feature a customisable digital display. View this post on Instagram A post shared by أسرار السيارات (@cars_secrets) The accompanying exterior design drawings reinforce the idea that the new Hilux is a thoroughly revised version of the eighth-generation model, with the doors and roof skin carried over. However, to freshen things up, Toyota has bolted on a new front end that includes an aggressive new bumper design and a pair of slim headlight clusters. There's also updated wheel arch cladding and new wraparound taillamps. Riding on Toyota's longstanding IMV ladder-frame chassis (if it ain't broke, don't fix it, right?), the new Hilux is expected to continue with the proven 2.4 l and 2.8 l four-cylinder turbodiesel engines – the latter available with 48V mild-hybrid technology. We assume the workhorse models will offer the aged but reliable 2.0 l and 2.7 l VVTi petrol engines. The new Toyota Hilux is expected to make its global debut in November 2025 in Thailand.

Councillor's persistent follow-ups bring ‘lights back on' at risky Winnie Mandela Drive intersection
It seems Ward 94 councillor David Foley's fight for working traffic lights is back on the agenda, just months after he celebrated a previous victory of getting the robots on Winne Mandela Drive fully functional. This time, he's raised concerns about ongoing issues at the Mandela Drive and Pieter Wenning Road intersection, where faulty and damaged traffic signals have created serious safety hazards for motorists. 'We've had quite a few challenges here since June 18, when I logged another call for dysfunctional traffic lights coming out of Robert Bruce onto Winnie Mandela Drive,' said Foley during an on-site visit on July 31. 'A traffic light was knocked down, and the only way to see this traffic light from Robert Bruce is a daunting task for motorists. If you're on the other side of the road, you cannot see the traffic light.' Also read: Ward 94 gets kerbs while Ward 96 gets excuses from JRA Foley said that the malfunctioning lights caused major congestion and posed risks for drivers and pedestrians alike. 'You can see on either side of the road that there is quite a massive backlog of cars, and crossing the road with the traffic lights flashing is also very dangerous.' He detailed the steps he has taken to escalate the matter, which began with a call logged on June 18 and continued through several channels. 'I did do a follow-up email on July 13. On July 18, I logged [another] call via X, and I got the reference number 555078. And since there was no progress, I did a follow-up with the JRA, Gauteng Traffic Department, as well as the MEC of Transport.' According to Foley, there was a reply on July 14, but subsequent follow-ups on July 22 and July 29 have gone unanswered. 'I haven't had a response. I'm hoping that we get to the bottom of this very quickly and the problem can be resolved.' Also read: JRA is fixing Ward 94's streets Foley confirmed on August 4 that the lights had been fixed over the weekend. 'Persistent escalations have paid off; traffic lights at Robert Bruce Road/Pieter Wenning Road and Winnie Mandela Drive have been fixed, and traffic is back to normal.' The Johannesburg Roads Agency has been contacted for comment, and an update will be provided when it becomes available. BYD Atto 1 could dethrone Dayun Yuehu S5 as SA's cheapest EV
The BYD Atto 1 is tipped to become South Africa's most affordable electric vehicle (EV) when it launches in September. Known as the Dolphin Mini or Dolphin Surf in other markets, the Chinese carmaker's compact electric hatchback is expected to retail for about R350,000 — an enticing proposition for Mzansi motorists looking to make the switch from petrol to battery power. If launched at this price, the Atto 1 would undercut the country's current most affordable EV, the R399,900 Dayun Yuehu S5 Standard. Roughly the same size as a MINI Cooper, the BYD Atto 1 measures 3,990mm in length, 1,720mm in width and 1,590mm in height, with a 2,500mm wheelbase. In overseas markets, it's offered with either a 30.08kWh or 38.88kWh 'Blade' battery pack. Both power a single electric motor mounted to the front axle. The smaller battery offers a driving range of up to 220km, while the larger pack extends this to 322km. The Atto 1 also supports Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) technology, which turns the car into a mobile power bank capable of running appliances and lights — a handy feature in a country prone to load-shedding. Inside the cabin, standard features include a rotating 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, voice activation, air conditioning, heated seats, wireless charging, cruise control and a reverse camera. Safety tech includes ABS brakes and electronic stability control. The downloadable BYD smartphone app allows owners to lock and unlock the vehicle remotely, check battery levels and precondition the cabin temperature. It also provides service reminders, diagnostic alerts and live tracking. More details regarding final pricing and specification are expected closer to the Atto 1's official launch, so stay tuned for updates.
