Deion Sanders ‘hurt' over ‘foolish stuff that went on' before Shedeur Sanders' NFL draft fall
Deion Sanders is hurting for his boys.
After son Shedeur fell to the fifth round, being selected 144th overall by the Browns in the 2025 NFL Draft, and his other son, Shilo, went undrafted, Sanders opened up to former Patriots and Eagles star defensive back Asante Samuel on the 'Say What Needs to be Said' podcast on his frustration about anonymous attacks that may have impacted their reputations, particularly with Shedeur.
'You have no idea, man,' Deion said. 'And stop lying. My kids are built for everything. We had two TV shows. … we've always been in front of the camera, so they know how to navigate. They know how to handle themselves. You're not gonna catch them in no foolery or no mess. They're not gonna do that whatsoever.'

'It hurt,' Sanders later added. 'But the bible says God uses the foolish things to confound the wise. There was some foolish stuff that went on, but that gave them something that they needed. . . . That edge that Tom (Brady) had, it gave them the edge that you had, it gave them the edge that I have. Folks said we weren't gonna be nothing. But we had to prove that. It gave them the edge that they needed. Both of them.'

Sheduer had previously said that his father was '99 percent' to blame for the online hate that surrounded him, although a firm story has to be released of why he fell all the way to the fifth round.

The only detailed story on Shedeur's draft day fall surrounds the Giants.
Although the Giants worked out Shedeur before the draft in late April, they used their No. 3 overall pick on Penn State edge rusher Abdul Carter before trading back into the first round to take Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart at No. 25.
Shortly after the draft, Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer reported that Shedeur missed mistakes that the Giants purposely put into an interview that was included during an offensive install.

When called out by the Giants and coach Brian Daboll, Shedeur was 'pissed' and the Giants wound up passing on him altogether.
'When you sit up there and say something like he went into a meeting unprepared, like, dude, Shedeur Sanders? Who has had six different [offensive] coordinators, who has still functioned and leveled up every time we brought somebody new in, and you're gonna tell me he was unprepared?' Deion said on the podcast. 'You're gonna tell me he had on headphones? Anybody who knows my son understands he's a professional. He's gonna go into a meeting with headphones on? Y'all, come on now.'

Shedeur joined a crowded quarterbacks room with the Browns that includes Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett and fellow rookie Dillon Gabriel. Starter Deshaun Watson is anticipated to miss the season while recovering from an Achilles injury.
Meanwhile, Shilo signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent.
Shilo wasn't projected to be anything higher than a Day 3 pick.

Beckham's career was on a Hall-of-Fame trajectory before injuries mounted and a trade to the Cleveland Browns set him on a different path. The 10-year veteran was a Pro Bowl selection in each of his first three seasons with the Giants. The Giants' offense will look much different than it did when Beckham was catching passes at MetLife Stadium. With Russell Wilson set to begin the season as the starter, the Giants need to surround him and Jaxson Dart with as much talent as possible. On top of that, Nabers expressed his excitement about the potential of working with Beckham after the latter teased a reunion on social media. Beckham certainly isn't the player he once was as he enters his age-33 season, but it could be a low-risk move to add some depth and veteran presence to the wide receiver room.

The Kansas City Chiefs are once again considered contenders heading into the 2025 season, and Patrick Mahomes remains a key player in the franchise's success. Dallas Clark reflects on Jim Irsay's legacy and impact in Indianapolis: 'He lived Colts football'
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Indianapolis Colts, and the state of Indiana as a whole, lost one of its key contributors in owner Jim Irsay last month after battling health issues. Dallas Clark, who played nine seasons with the Colts and helped them win a Super Bowl in 2006, was one of many former and current players, executives and coaches who attended Irsay's funeral. While everyone remains in mourning, Clark said he truly understood what Irsay meant to the Colts and the game of football after learning more than he ever could among his peers. "At his funeral, just crazy the things I learned about him," Clark told Fox News Digital while attending Tight End University yet again as one of the key legends among the group of more than 80 participants. "About being the youngest general manager, and it all kind of made sense. This man has lived this game of football every day of his life, and we were just so honored to represent him and his family. What a huge, huge loss." Clark recalled the time he was drafted by the Colts, when general manager Bill Polian and the front office took the star out of Iowa 23rd overall in 2003. While he was just trying to make a good impression on his new NFL team, Clark also got to see the type of owner Irsay was. "Didn't understand it at first, like, 'I don't know why you guys need me. You're freaking loaded,'" Clark said about being drafted by Indianapolis. "I remember getting in that huddle the first time and was like, 'This is going to be interesting.' "But being around [Irsay], seeing the impact he had on the city. He truly loved his players and took care of us, and we weren't just an investment, we weren't just a side gig. He lived Colts football." Irsay took ownership of the Colts in 1995 following a legal battle after the death of his father. Before then, Irsay was the general manager of the team from 1982 to 1996 and became the NFL's youngest owner at age 37. Since then, the Colts have had massive success with Peyton Manning as their quarterback, but they have been in flux since Manning left the team and Andrew Luck abruptly retired. Other than caring about his Colts, Clark knew how much Irsay meant to the community, and it was not a grandiose display every time he did so. "He was the epitome of what giving back, what truly caring, truly embracing the state of Indiana, the whole Colts nation, the organization," Clark said. "I'm hoping all the owners have learned something from him, about him, and how you handle yourself and how you be a true owner of representing your team. The power that he would have, and the impact he would make – so many things he did were under the radar. That's the beautiful thing about him: he wasn't trying to get himself in the spotlight or anything like that. He was always trying to find a way to make an impact." While Clark is sad that "Mr. Irsay" will not be in Lucas Oil Stadium anymore on gamedays, he is excited to see how his three daughters – Carlie Irsay-Gordon, Casey Foyt and Kalen Jackson – honor their father and run the team in their own way. "I know the girls are going to do a phenomenal job of honoring him and keeping his legacy strong in the front of their direction, but also make it their own and find ways to make it their own and change things for the good," Clark said. "The impact he had on so many people, this is going to be a tough one. So happy they're going to honor him the first week, put him in the Ring of Honor, and it's going to be a special day."
