Hype Malaysia30-05-2025
Becoming a brand ambassador for a local label is already a significant milestone, but being the first local artist to represent a global brand is an achievement on an entirely different level. Since 16th May, G-SHOCK Malaysia teased that a certain Malaysian star has been selected as the brand ambassador, with plans to unveil his identity later the same month.
The day finally arrived, and it was confirmed that actor Zizan Razak is the new brand ambassador for G-SHOCK Malaysia. Not only is he the new brand ambassador, but he's also the first Malaysian to represent the brand.
'Toughness Is Multi-Dimensional, and no one embodies the unbreakable spirit and undeniable style of G-SHOCK more than Zizan Razak,' the company wrote in their Instagram post. The popular brand stated that the collaboration continues its mission to unite bold communities across Fashion, Art, Music, and Sports (FAMS) under one tough and expressive identity.
According to the official website, Zizan begins his ambassadorship with the iconic G-SHOCK 6900 series, a bold timepiece that revolutionised watch design with its signature front button and triple graph dial when it first launched in 1995. His bold personality, versatility, and distinctive blend of humour, influence, and charisma make him an ideal choice as G-SHOCK's first Malaysian ambassador. The comedian brings a fresh local spirit that mirrors the brand's fearless identity, passion for individuality, and enduring legacy of toughness and innovation.
At the launch event held at DADI Cinema, Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, on Wednesday (28th May), Zizan Razak was officially introduced as the new face of G-SHOCK. Being a long-time fan of the brand, the actor was obviously thrilled about his new role and shared his excitement about being chosen as the first Malaysian brand ambassador, saying it felt like a dream and that he was left speechless when first contacted about the collaboration.
The movie star also took the opportunity to showcase his personal G-SHOCK collection on stage. 'People call me a Power Ranger,' he joked while displaying his prized possessions. According to The Rakyat Post, Casio Malaysia's Managing Director, Yuki Mutsui, said there were no doubts in appointing Zizan, as his journey embodies G-SHOCK's 'Never Give Up' spirit and its drive for constant reinvention.
Congratulations to Zizan Razak on his new ambassadorship!

By Mohd Ashraf Syafiq Mazlan SEPANG, Aug 13 (Bernama) -- Patriotic and traditional tunes, accompanied by captivating cultural performances, filled Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) Terminal 1 today during the PENTARAMA MERDEKA@KLIA programme organised by the Information Department (JAPEN). The programme, held in collaboration with Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB), was organised in conjunction with National Day and Malaysia Day 2025 (HKHM 2025), with a focus on showcasing patriotism through casual performances. Yusof Haslam's Skop Productions donates RM380,000 to Media Prima disaster fund

KUALA LUMPUR: Skop Productions Sdn Bhd has contributed RM380,000 to the NSTP-Media Prima Bhd (NSTP-MPB) Disaster Fund to assist victims, including those affected in Putra Heights. Skop Productions founder Datuk Yusof Haslam presented the donation to Media Prima Bhd (MPB) group chief financial officer Rosli Sabarudin. Yusof said the contribution was inspired by strong support for his company's films this year. "This donation is to help victims, whether their homes were destroyed by fire or affected by any other disaster. It also includes victims in Putra Heights and elsewhere," Yusof said. "Fortunately, Skop Productions' films have received good response this year, so I must play my role as a Muslim and as a caring Malaysian. This is a sincere contribution from me and Skop Productions," he added. He said that the company planned to continue collaborating with MPB's Primeworks Studios on several upcoming projects, including Blood Brothers 2 and Sheriff, which will begin filming next year. "This collaboration is a win-win situation because we cannot be greedy and do everything ourselves. In any industry, we must have cooperation and give-and-take to achieve success. That has always been our practice," he said. On his hopes for the donation, Yusof hoped it could help ease the burden of disaster victims and he would contribute yearly if it was sustainable. Rosli expressed his appreciation for Skop Productions' generosity. "As a trustee, I am grateful to Malaysians for their continuous support. This time, Skop Production has stepped forward with an amount of RM380,000, which will go to the NSTP-Media Prima Disaster Fund to aid victims in Putra Heights and other disaster-hit areas nationwide," he said.

(Video) Gillian Chung Chows Down On Chicken Wings & Roti Tisu While In KL

International celebrities who visit Malaysia know that there's one thing everyone should do while in town: eat to your heart's content. While in Kuala Lumpur to film a show, Hong Kong star Gillian Chung (钟欣潼) made sure to try as much local food as possible before her trip ended. The singer recently shared a short vlog on her social media, documenting the last day of her recent visit to KL. According to reports, Gillian was in town to film for the upcoming Astro variety show, 'Beauty Fafa (营业吧!花花)'. Of course, while in Malaysia, the star couldn't help but check out the local food scene. In the video, Gillian and her staff members visited Alor Street and dined at a local Chinese restaurant. The star also revealed that she has dined at the restaurant many times, hinting that the food there is good. The next scene then shows a table full of dishes, including grilled stingray, satay, and grilled chicken wings. After inviting the crowd to dine in, Gillian then devoured the dishes without hesitation. While there were many food choices on the table, the singer said her favourite was the grilled chicken wings. However, Gillian's food diary didn't stop there. Upon returning to her hotel room, the star's staff members surprised her with a Roti Tisu tower that was half her height. While the 44-year-old was unsure at first, she grabbed a small piece for her first try of the iconic Malaysian dish. Immediately after tasting the Roti Tisu, Gillian's face lit up and she exclaimed, 'That tastes so good!'. She then went in for a second bite, showing her approval of the dish. In the comments, fans expressed glee over Gillian's food vlog, saying they enjoy seeing her eat with gusto. Some also cooed over her cute expressions while eating her chicken wings and trying the Roti Tisu. Fans also praised her beauty and youthful looks, noting that she looked like she could be in her twenties. At the same time, local fans also invited her to return to Malaysia more often to try other dishes. We also hope to see Gillian back in Malaysia soon. Maybe she can create a longer food vlog the next time she's in town.
