The US dollar index was back down $0.383 to $98.045, as crude oil futures were down another $1.31. USDA's Export Sales report showed a total of 241,982 RB of cotton sold in the week of 8/7. Abbey Wood Co-op permanently closes after fire earlier this year
A Co-op store in Abbey Wood will remain permanently closed following a fire earlier this year – a move that the company knows 'won't be welcomed by everyone'. The supermarket on McLeod Road was damaged in a blaze in February and has stayed shut since the incident. Co-op said the closure followed a review of its store locations and that the decision had been taken after careful consideration. The company confirmed staff had been informed and said its focus was on supporting them. It thanked residents for their support over the years and acknowledged that the closure would not be welcomed by everyone. The retailer said it remains committed to serving communities in south London, with other branches nearby including Plumstead Common Road in Greenwich, Wrotham Road in Welling, and Nuxley Road in Upper Belvedere. 'We understand, this won't be welcomed by everyone, and we would like to thank the community for its support of this store.'
