Noel Gallagher's adorable six word statement about Liam's Oasis reunion tour performances
Oasis star Noel Gallagher has said he is 'proud' of his brother Liam and that he forgot how 'funny' he was. The Britpop icons performed two sold out shows at Dublin's Croke park at the weekend following their three-day run at Edinburgh's Murrayfield.
Speaking about their current Oasis Live '25 reunion tour, Noel said he has been overwhelmed by the reaction of their fans. The group announced their reunion tour in August last year, 15 years after their dramatic split in 2009, when Noel quit the band after a backstage brawl at the Rock en Seine festival in Paris, saying he 'simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer'.
Speaking to talkSport's Andy Goldstein and Darren Bent on Tuesday night, the guitarist said one of the best things about being on the road again was to be with his brother: 'Liam's smashing it. I'm proud of him.
'I couldn't do the stadium thing like he does it, it's not in my nature. But I've got to say, I kind of look and I think, good for you mate. He's been amazing.
'It's great just to be back with Bonehead (Paul Arthurs) and Liam and just be doing it again.
'I guess when it's all said and done we will sit and reflect on it, but it's great being back in the band with Liam, I forgot how funny he was.'
The group has already played in Cardiff, Manchester and London, as well as the Dublin and Edinburgh gigs, with dates scheduled around the world including in major cities across the US, Canada, Mexico, Australia and Japan.
Speaking about the tour so far and their opening night in Cardiff, Noel said he was 'completely blown away'. He added: 'I can't speak for anyone else, but for me personally, I grossly underestimated what I was getting into.
'It was kind of after about five minutes, I was like, all right, can I just go back to the dressing room and start this again?
'I've done stadiums before and all that, but I don't mind telling you, my legs had turned to jelly after about halfway through the second song.
'It's been an amazing thing. Really is an amazing thing.
'It's difficult to put into words actually.
'Every night is the crowd's first night, you know what I mean? So every night's got that kind of same energy to it, but it's been truly amazing. I'm not usually short for words, but I can't really articulate it.
Oasis, best known for Wonderwall, Don't Look Back In Anger and Champagne Supernova, signed to independent record label Creation Records in 1993, rising to fame with the release of their debut chart-topping album Definitely Maybe on August 29 1994.

Robbie Williams reveals Gary Barlow collaboration on new album Britpop
Robbie Williams has revealed details of several star collaborations on his upcoming album, Britpop - including a track with Gary Barlow. The former Take That singer teased details at a launch event for the record, which will be his first studio album of original songs in almost a decade. He also announced he will play his "smallest-ever ticketed gig" as an intimate show for 500 fans, performing both his debut album Life Thru A Lens and Britpop in their entirety, following his current European stadium tour. Williams listed some of the artists he has collaborated with on the new album, including Black Sabbath 's Tony Iommi, Coldplay's Chris Martin, Supergrass frontman Gaz Coombes, and Barlow. The relationship between the Take That stars famously deteriorated after Williams left the group, but the pair fixed their friendship in later years - and the Angels star reunited with the band for their Progress tour in 2011. Their song on Britpop is called Morrissey, about the singer-songwriter and former frontman of The Smiths. Answering questions from comedian Joe Lycett, who hosted the event, Williams said the song was written from the point of view of "somebody that is stalking Morrissey and is completely obsessed and in love with him", but did not give any further detail. Another track, Human, is about AI. "We are being told that we're all about to be replaced, and we need clothes and we need food, so there's a chance that we will be removed," Williams said. "Whether it's a prophecy, we shall see. But, yeah. It's a song about what we've been told about AI." The singer rose to fame in Take That in the early 1990s before quitting and going on to have huge success as a solo star, with hit songs including Let Me Entertain You, Angels, Feel, No Regrets and She's The One. In 2023, he reflected on his life and career in a documentary series, in which he spoke about his struggles with the limelight and his mental health at the height of his fame. Last year's Better Man - a biopic of his life in which the star was portrayed as a monkey - also tackled those issues. Now, he says he is back with the kind of album he would have loved to have released after he left Take That in 1995 - the "peak of Britpop" and the year of Oasis's (What's the Story) Morning Glory?, Pulp's Different Class, and Blur's The Great Escape. "I've kind of been musically a bit aimless for a little while because I haven't known really what to do," Williams said at the Britpop launch. "I chased yesterday an awful lot. Which happens." When you become hugely successful and then "commercial radio, whatever, stops playing you... you think, shit, what was it that I did?" he continued. "I just spent the last 15 years looking backwards. And I think with this album, if I am going to look backwards, I might as well just clear the decks, go back to the start and head off from there." Williams also spoke about other projects, including artwork and investment in arts education. "I want the entertainment industry to be somebody's Plan A and Plan B," he said. "You know when you go to your parents, you say, 'I want to be a singer, I want to be a dancer or be an actor, I want to go into the entertainment industry'. [The response is] 'You better have a Plan B.' I want to create the Plan B for people, too."

Pep Guardiola certainly enjoyed his summer off - he was spotted belting out Oasis lyrics at Heaton Park and even experimented with some bold new facial hair. But the Manchester City boss is well and truly back to business now after his side's thumping 4-0 victory at Wolves in their opening game of the Premier League season at the weekend. The Spaniard was noticeably no-longer rocking the moustache he was sporting during the off-season at Molineux, and has now revealed he was forced to grow back his beard at the request of his daughter. Supporters noticed Guardiola's surprising new look when he was seen at the Monarka Clinic in Barcelona, and it's fair to say the experiment didn't quite come off for the legendary manager as fans compared his moustache to that of Ted Lasso. 'It's gone,' Guardiola told Men in Blazers this week, 'my daughter said it was horrible so I had to get it off.' Guardiola also spoke about his experience watching Oasis earlier this summer. The iconic band have embarked on a reunion tour titled Oasis Live '25 which has seen music-lovers across the country, and the world, clambering for tickets. Warring brothers Noel, 58, and Liam, 52, were seen embracing for the first time in more than 15 years at Cardiff's Principality Stadium in early July before rocking shows at Murrayfield, Wembley Stadium and Heaton Park, where they played to an audience consisting of a host of Man City players and, of course, Guardiola. Pep described his evening at Oasis, during which Noel shouted him out on stage, as 'overwhelming'. 'In the UK they've been the best by far and (for them) to have this love for me and my family and how they've cared for me since I've arrived. 'Listen I want to confess something, the first day I arrived here at Man City 10 years ago, the first interview I did was with Noel. 'At the moment when the interview finished I said, "it's impossible this isn't going to go well" when the first interview is done by him. I'm pretty sure it's going to be a fantastic period.' And it certainly has been. Guardiola has won 18 trophies during his decade in Manchester, including six Premier League titles, two FA Cups, four League Cups, two Community Shields, one Super Cup, one Club World Cup and one Champions League. But last season was something of a struggle for Pep's side, who went trophy-less and finished a surprising 13 points below league champions Liverpool in third place. They've strengthened this summer nevertheless with the signings of Marcus Bettinelli, Sverre Nypan, James Trafford, Rayan Cherki, Rayan Ait-Nouri and Tijjani Reijnders in a bid to challenge for the title once again. And their league campaign got off to a promising start against Wolves at the weekend, with Erling Haaland (2), Reijnders and Cherki on the scoresheet in a 4-0 win. The Cityzens host Thomas Frank's Tottenham this weekend in their second fixture of the season.
