Inside $80m star Kristin Stewart's 'budget' wedding at low-key venue favored by A-listers
However, DailyMail.com can reveal that the venue holds a hidden meaning for the happy couple, as it has long been considered a haven to the LGBTQ community of Los Angeles, and has quite the Hollywood backstory.
Decades before Kristen publicly came out as queer in 2017, Casita del Campo was a refuge for the gay community to dine in a 'safe space' including legendary screen actor Rock Hudson who famously kept his sexuality a secret from the public for his entire career.
The intimate family-owned eatery was opened in 1962 by West Side Story actor Rudy del Campo.
Unmissable with it's vibrant pink exterior, the restaurant is located in LA's hip Silver Lake neighborhood and is known as an LGBTQ haven where drag shows have been held at it's very own underground theater, The Cavern Club.
'Our supportive relationship with the [queer] community started with my parents... and continues every single day,' owner Robert del Campo, the son of founder Rudy, told The Infatuation in 2020.
The late Rudy opened the doors to Casita del Campo with his family in 1962 following a showbiz career that spanned Broadway, Las Vegas, and the big screen.
Rudy, a dancer and actor, appeared in Singing in the Rain, An American In Paris, A Star Is Born, and even played a Shark in the musical film West Side Story - his last movie before he pivoted into the restaurant industry.
Casita Del Campo was launched with the paycheck Rudy earned from West Side Story, according to KCRW.
'West Side Story was [Rudy's] last film. He had a small business administration pamphlet and just went down the list of businesses. And when he got to [the word] restaurant, it's like, 'I think we can do this. Let's give this a shot.' It was a very practical solution,' Robert told the outlet.
Rudy, whose friends included those in Hollywood who had not come out, wanted his pals to feel free to be themselves at Casita Del Campo, according to Opentable.
The restaurant has served as a retreat as other LGBTQ establishments in the area became the target of raids.
In the 70s, Rudy even built privacy curtains on the bar booths so his LGBTQ diners could feel safe, according to the outlet.
'Word spread quickly that this is a safe space to enjoy your lives,' Robert told Opentable in 2023. 'We live for the camaraderie of all these human beings— providing for each other—to make another day better for everybody.'
Several years after Rudy launched the restaurant, he met the woman who would not only become a colleague but his wife - Nina del Campo.
The couple 'instantly fell in love' following their meeting in 1965 and were married until Rudy's death in 2003.
The restaurant remains in the family, with Rudy's son Robert becoming owner the same year his father died.
'This place was made with love, and that is the most important ingredient of how it still runs to this day,' he told The Infatuation.
The menu boasts mouth-watering Mexican staples such as freshly made guacamole, enchiladas, taquitos, carne asada, and margaritas.
The restaurant has attracted A-listers such a Katy Perry, Gwen Stefani, Robert Pattinson, and St. Vincent, who have all eaten there.
Stewart and Dylan were reportedly regulars at the restaurant before they tied the knot on Easter, People reported.
The couple said 'I do' in front of 170 guests and the celebrations lasted after midnight, a source told the site.
The restaurant announced the day before Stewart's wedding that they would be closing on Easter for a 'private event'
Stewart, who came out as gay in 2017, has been dating Meyer, a screenwriter, since 2019.
They announced their engagement in 2021.
The day before the wedding, the restaurant announced they would be closed on Easter for a 'private event.'
Alongside a photo of a camellia in bloom, the eatery posted to Instagram: 'Easter Sunday 4/20/25 we will be closed for a private event day and night. Blessings and Love ❤️... Open on Monday 11am... Viva la Vida.'

These are Europe's best bars, according to Time Out editors
Thirsty for a cocktail? Of course you are, but no matter the city you're in, there are just too many bars to choose from. That's why Time Out has called on its editors to recommend a spot local to them which they think is a must-visit. It resulted in a list of some seriously knockout bars, from a gritty, noisy, locally-adored spot in Cape Town to a Mexican-American cocktail joint in New York, and across the worldwide roundup, five entries from cities in Europe were also included. One of these was Fréquence, a vinyl and cocktail bar in Paris 's 11th arrondissement, selected by Time Out Paris's food and drink editor Antoine Besse. He said: 'Why choose between quality cocktails and good music? That's exactly what Matthieu Biron and Guillaume Quenza thought when they created this gem of a spot, where the mixologist becomes the DJ, and vice versa. At Fréquence there's a groovy vinyl collection, and a lip-smacking menu of drinks creations all inspired by Japanese flavours. What more do you really need?' If you pay this place a visit, make sure to sample anything containing shochu – they really know what they're doing when it comes to this stuff. Elsewhere, Hannekes Boom, a riverside pub-bar in Amsterdam, also made our list. Undoubtedly a summer spot, bragging rows of multicoloured tables and endless bunting, this is the charmingly laid-back place to head if you're in a big group and craving an atmosphere a little livelier than what you'll find in Amsterdam's uber-swanky cocktail bars. What should you drink? Well, Time Out's guide editor Ella Doyle says: 'Dutch craft beer is a-plenty here: sours, stouts, pilsners and all the rest of it. Jupiler is the local drink of choice – it's cheap, and comes in XL pitcher size for sharing – and it goes down rather well with a ridiculously huge portion of Hannekes Boom's nachos. Not a beer person? The Hannekes Spritz is worth a go too.' But three more spots from across the continent made our worldwide roundup – check them out below. These are the five best bars in Europe, according to Time Out editors Trisha's, London Fréquence, Paris Cruda, Madrid Skua, Edinburgh Hannekes Boom, Amsterdam Thirsty for more? Here's the full list of the bars you must visit in the world's best cities, according to Time Out's editors.

Several other actors, including Kim Tserkezie and Juliet Cadzow, will also appear when the revamped series airs on CBeebies and BBC iPlayer. But Juliet could have a different role this time around when the series hits TV screens. The 74-year-old played Edie McCredie in the popular children's television programme from 2002 to 2005. She was one of the main cast members and was the driver and mechanic of the Yellow Daisy bus. But this time around, Edie could be doing something very different. Wonderful to be back on Mull filming Balamory Juliet Cadzow Snaps shared on Instagram appear to show Juliet driving a boat while filming on Tobermory on the Isle of Mull for the last two weeks. She was dressed in a blue outfit, which was Edie's favourite colour, and which also looked a little like a delivery costume. She was also spotted on a yellow and blue boat, which was called Sea Dasher, with Edie McCredie written on a sign on the front alongside an icon of a little open parcel. Tobermory Bay Tours shared photos on social media of Juliet filming on the boat alongside Andrew Agnew. Balamory actor in major career change that is worlds away from the popular noughties BBC kids show The post, on Instagram, said: "A few more behind-the-scenes antics from yesterday with the Balamory crew. "You'll have to wait until next year to find out what pc plum has spotted through the binoculars. "Who's going to be tuning in to watch?" They also shared a video of one of their staff on the bright yellow boat and teased that it was actually their vessel Twilight that was used for Sea Dasher. Tobermory Bay Tours posted yesterday: "Today has definitely been one of a kind! "It's not every day you get to be a 'stunt' double, but Twilight stole the show starring as Edie McCredie's boat, Sea Dasher." Juliet shared her own snaps from her time on Mull for the filming of the reboot show. Posting on Instagram, she said: "Wonderful to be back on Mull filming Balamory". Fans flocked to the comments to share their excitement at the new reboot. One person said: "Wonderful! Cannot wait for another generation of people to love this". Another added: "This is amazing!!! Can't wait for my kids to watch it". Someone else wrote: "Really happy there is another series of ballamory. You all do an amazing job, and can't wait to see the new version of it. Well done Julie". CAST REVEALED THE cast for the upcoming reboot was revealed last month, and fans were instantly excited. However, many spotted that original cast member Rodd Christensen was missing from the line-up. Rodd, from Las Vegas, played Spencer the Painter in the popular children's television programme from 2002 to 2005. One viewer wrote: "Why isn't Spencer (Rodd Christensen) in these photos? Is he going to be in the show?" A third added: "My kids absolutely loved Spencer, we're gutted he's not coming back." Another said: "Will Spencer be a part of the reboot?" Rodd, who now lives in Las Vegas with his family, explained to a fan on Instagram that he would not be involved at this time. He said: "I would've loved to, but I won't be a part of this reboot at this moment." But the new series is set to blend familiar faces with a host of new characters, offering preschoolers a 'joyful mix of stories, comedy, songs and adventures'. Brand new characters include scientist and inventor Ava Potts, played by Danielle Jam, local vet Dr Ollie Carl Spencer, who lives with his two children and the Harbour Master, played by William Andrews. At its heart remains the charming fictional town of Balamory and its lively inhabitants, where brightly-coloured houses cluster around a scenic harbour and life revolves around the nursery school and its caring teacher. And a fourth shared: "I'm really happy to hear that Balamory will make a comeback next year, Juliet!" While a fifth chimed in: "This is very exciting!" Filming will take place both in the studio in Glasgow and on location in Tobermory. The real-life Isle of Mull town inspired the show's iconic setting. Kate Morton, Head of Commissioning BBC Children's and Education, said: "It's wonderful to see some of the original cast returning alongside new faces, creating a perfect mix of nostalgia and discovery for families to enjoy together. "This vibrant new series will delight both children and the grown-ups who remember it fondly." The original Balamory was also shown in Australia, Canada, the US and Hong Kong. 8 Balamory is being filmed in Tobermory, on the Isle of Mull, as well as the studio in Glasgow Credit: Alamy 8 Juliet shared snaps of her time in Mull with fans on Instagram Credit: @JulietCadzow / Instagram 8 The show originally ran from 2002 until 2005 Credit: BBC
