Kapuso executives, stars come together at pre-GMA Gala 2025 dinner
Kapuso executives, stars, clients, and partners gathered for a special pre-gala event held at the Okura Hotel in Manila on Thursday ahead of the much-anticipated GMA Gala 2025.
The event served as a warm-up to the main gala night, setting a tone of celebration and gratitude.
GMA Network Senior Vice President Atty. Annette Gozon-Valdes delivered the opening remarks, highlighting the network's milestones and the strong partnerships that have propelled GMA Network to continued success.
Charlie Fleming serenaded the guests with a surprise song number, infusing the night with artistry and flair.
It was followed by a toast led by Sparkle GMA Artist Center First Vice President Joy Marcelo.
Other Kapuso executives present were GMA Kapuso Foundation Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Rikki Escudero-Catibog and Sparkle Senior Talent Manager Tracy Garcia, among others.
Among the stars present at the gathering on Thursday night were Yasmien Kurdi, Rocco Nacino, Martin Javier, Shuvee Etrata, Anthony Constantino, AZ Martinez, Charlie Fleming, Will Ashley, Josh Ford, Michael Sager, Vince Maristela, Angel Guardian, Jak Roberto, Jeric Gonzales, Anton Vinzon, Sofia Pablo, Allen Ansay, Faye Lorenzo, and Mad Ramos.
A key moment of the evening was the GMA Kapuso Foundation donation turnover. GMA Network donated a total of P2 million, underscoring the network's continued commitment to public service and social responsibility through its charitable arm.
Gozon-Valdes told GMA Integrated News that the pre-gala dinner pushed through despite the inclement weather because the event is really for the benefit of the GMA Kapuso Foundation.
"Tamang-tama, nangangailangan talaga sila ng tulong ngayon. So specifically, all the proceeds, at least P2 million ha ang nalilikom natin, tonight ay mapupunta particularly for the calamity victims," she said.
"Even before the storms, even before the flooding, talagang for the benefit of Kapuso Foundation itong gabing ito. So lalo na siguro silang na-engganyong pumunta kasi meron talagang mga nangangailangan ng tulong, so I'm very happy na we've raised at least P2 million as of now. And baka madagdagan pa at the end of the night," she added.
Meanwhile, Escudero-Catibog expressed her gratitude, noting that the heavy rains lately have been hard to grasp.
"First, it was habagat, we've been conducting relief operations araw-araw. Tapos ngayon naman, no'ng pumasok si Emong at pinalakas pa nitong si Dante, 'di naman makaalis si Dante dahil merong Fujiwhara effect daw 'yung dalawang bagyo. So, talagang ang hinagpit talaga 'yung probinsya ng Pangasinan at tsaka ang Pampanga nasa state of calamity na," she said.
Escudero-Catibog added that the GMA Kapuso Foundation is now preparing for its relief operations this weekend.
The GMA Gala 2025, which is part of the celebration of GMA Network's 75th anniversary this year, will be held on August 2.
Now in its fourth year, the GMA Gala is a star-studded gathering of Kapuso stars and other showbiz personalities where they walk down the red carpet in fashionable outfits and enjoy an evening of camaraderie and celebration.
In 2024, proceeds from the event were donated for the benefit of Typhoon Carina victims.

'The Clash': Adelle Yu says she still feels like a winner
Adelle Yu is the type to keep her head held high. The singer from Cotabato City is the latest hopeful to be eliminated from 'The Clash' but she says she still feels like a winner. 'I think I would want to circle back to my core. Because I will not deny, I'm just a human being, it will affect me, make me feel sad at some point. And 'yung core na sinasabi ko, the feeling of being grateful that I've achieved that far in the competition,' Adelle told GMA News Online. Adelle also said 'The Clash' gave her so many opportunities, like walking a red carpet for the first time, promo guestings, and rubbing elbows with Filipino art icons. 'It's such a huge milestone, kaya ko nasabi na I'm already a winner in my own story. What else can I ask for?' She also hopes that after getting to her core, she would have more guestings and shows. 'I wanna get back onstage and sing and perform for the people.' For Adelle, the biggest challenges in her journey were the vocal conditioning and the pressure of the competition as she thinks 'about how to get the attention of the judges of the judges, 'yung mga tao, pano mo ma-touch 'yung hearts nila through your song.' Meanwhile, her biggest achievement was to be seen by audiences which is something 'that will live on for the rest of my life.' 'In-allow nila 'ko to be me, to be authentic to myself, to the sound that I have,' she said. Adelle is also thankful for the support of her home province. She said she's surprised at her social media presence, and that certain videos get high views. ''Yung outpouring of support, para siyang understatement for me. It's more of parang, finally, I've been heard. And finally, I'm seen,' Adelle said. 'It's been years and lagi akong nagta-try,' she added. 'I think that's why nabansagan din ako ng 'The Unstoppable Diva' because no matter the circumstance, I've been through a lot, and I mean a lot. But every time I hold the microphone and I perform onstage in front of hundreds of thousands of people, naiiba eh, parang nadadala ako sa other dimension.' Should she have won, Adelle said she would visit her grandparents' resting places as they never saw her on 'The Clash,' have a concert, and release an album. In a previous interview, Adelle told GMA News Online that she chose the song 'Angels Brought Me Here" by Guy Sebastian to describe her journey because she did not expect to compete in 'The Clash 2025.' As much as she had wanted to join before, she said she was not in the right mindset and had other priorities like her family and work. 'Parang hindi siya ina-allow ng pagkakataon until today. So I feel like it's destined to happen in this time.' 'The Clash' airs at 7:15 p.m. on Sundays on GMA Network. —JCB, GMA Integrated News
