This is the moment that Hollyoaks welcomes back Tom Cunningham (Ellis Hollins) after a year-long absence.
The beloved character, a show mainstay for two decades, was last seen in August of last year fleeing the village with sister Cindy Cunningham (Stephanie Waring) after they discovered Dave Williams (Dominic Power) was none other than Blue.
Fans have longed for a comeback for the character, particularly since the return of his one true nemesis Clare Devine (Gemma Bissix), who – despite being declared dead over a decade ago – is still very much alive .
But just what brings Tom back to the village?
Well, perhaps the more apt question is just what has landed him jail, given that the former market owner is serving a stretch behind bars!
Quite an unexpected comeback story for Tom, who was a stickler for the rules and always on hand to tell someone off for not following instructions to a T.
If you're eager for a look at the character's return then you needn't wait any longer as Metro has his first moment back on-screen, which you can watch above.

Donny Clarke (Louis Emerick) pays Rex Gallagher (Jonny Labey) a visit in prison, urging him to name Clare as the real killer of DI Banks (Drew Cain).
DI Banks, as viewers know, was shot by Dillon Ray (Nathaniel Dass) earlier this year, with Rex – who groomed the teen – ultimately taking the wrap. More Trending
With Rex refusing to name Clare as the killer, Donny turns to Ste Hay (Kieron Richardson), who pays Rex another visit. Rex reiterates his desire to take the blame for Banks' death.
But as he makes reference to Clare Devine, Tom is seen nearby – and it's safe to say that his interest is piqued.
The character subsequently gets in touch with Donny, hoping to offer some information on his nemesis.

Emmerdale's Joe Tate fights back with unexpected move to take down Crowley

Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) takes action in Emmerdale next week as he gets fed up of Crowley's (James Hillier) demands amid the grand plan to take down Kim (Claire King). The businessman, as viewers know, is used to being in control of just about every situation, using people as pawns in his games in order to get what he wants. Crowley, however, has managed to hit him where it hurts, with Joe realising earlier this week that he very much does not have the upper hand in this particular dynamic and situation. After threatening to remove his kidney – the very kidney he placed in Joe just months ago – Crowley demanded that the young Tate hand over all his cash, rendering him penniless. Joe - he's proven before he will always win Crowley - he has Joe right where he wants him But this was just the beginning, with another twist confirming that the dastardly doctor is none other than Kim's new beau – and he's intent on stealing her fortune too! Playing with fire there, Crowley. More Trending Next week, the dodgy doc continues to woo Kim, who doesn't suspect any foul play as she grows closer to him. Joe, meanwhile, is very much on Kim's side in this war and thus he makes it his mission to stop Crowley's mad plan to steal her fortune. Taking action, Joe organises a rendezvous with Crowley, who finds himself staring down the barrel of a gun upon arrival. The question is: will Joe come out victorious? Can he reclaim his power? Or will Crowley be one step ahead? View More » Emmerdale airs night at 7pm on ITV1 or stream first from 7am on YouTube and ITVX. Emmerdale legend warns that plan will 'end in tears' - but a shock follows

Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) has been left worried over Cain Dingle's (Jeff Hordley) desperation to help Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill) in Emmerdale. As a result of the hysterectomy she had recently, Sarah can no longer carry a child. The news was so badly timed, as a few hours prior she was excitedly talking to Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant) about him being her sperm donor for the IVF journey. Yesterday, Sarah was back in hospital as a result of Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham) losing control of her car. Gabby had drunk an obscene amount of coffee that morning and felt dizzy at the wheel. She fainted, forcing passenger Sarah to try and bring the car to a stop. In the hospital, Sarah broke down to Cain. She admitted that all she wants is to hold a little mini version of her, and hates that she'll have to live with the fact it will no longer happen, as well as knowing her Fanconi Anemia will shorten her life. Cain's heart broke for Sarah. Determined to help, he then suggested that Sarah could look into surrogacy. It wouldn't be the exact same as carrying the baby and giving birth herself, but she didn't have many other options. Once Charity discovered this, she wasn't impressed. Outside, Charity told Cain that he's not being fair by getting Sarah's hopes up, as the plan would not work. Clearly needing a distraction from the grief he's feeling towards son Nate, Cain was absolutely adamant that he would make Sarah's dream come true. In tonight's episode, Cain spoke to best friend and local GP Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) about surrogacy. Unfortunately, Liam said that the chances of Sarah being successful with an agency would be slim, given her illness and everything she's been through recently. Frustrated, Cain relayed this to Charity, who wondered if it was a sign. More Trending But when they sat down to tell Sarah this, both characters could not bring themselves to break her heart again. Instead, Cain lied and said that Liam thinks it's a really good idea. Sarah, who had spent the day warming to the idea of surrogacy, was grateful and felt like there was some light at the end of the tunnel at last. Sarah will not be able to find a surrogate through an agency, but upcoming episodes will see her discover there is another option. Charity will impulsively tell Sarah that she could carry the baby instead – but how will she react?
