Former NFL QB Confident Eagles Will Repeat as Champions
In the past 20 years, only the Kansas City Chiefs have pulled off winning back-to-back Super Bowls. Despite it being such a rare feat, one former player is confident the Philadelphia Eagles are primed to capture a second straight title in 2025.
While appearing on "The Facility" earlier this week, Chase Daniel was asked his thoughts on the Eagles' chances of repeating as Super Bowl champions. He feels very good about their ability to do so, citing that the organization has little to no weak points across all levels.
"I expect the Eagles to repeat," Daniel said. "They're the most well constructed team in the NFL. Like top to bottom. Coaches, to the 53rd player, to their practice squad, to their GM, to their receiver room. Everything you look at them and there's really no weaknesses."

Heading into the 2025 season, it's hard not to feel confident in the Eagles' ability to be the last team standing again. They are bringing back a large portion of last year's roster, and their key talents are either nearing or in their primes.

They'll still be one of the best running teams with Saquon Barkley coming off a historic season. On top of that, Jalen Hurts has an array of weapons around him when it comes to the passing game.
Moving on to the defense, the Eagles have no shortage of exciting young talent. Now with another year of experience and training camp under their belt, they are sure to be a force to be reckoned with.
While there's no denying the Eagles have the personnel to capture another championship, going out and doing it is an entirely different story. Numerous teams made sizable upgrades during the offseason in hopes of knocking them off. Two teams are in their own division in the Dallas Cowboys and Washington Commanders.
The road won't be easy, but there is a window of opportunity for the Eagles to join the exclusive group of teams to win back-to-back championships. They'll just have to rely on the gritty nature that got them to the mountaintop last year.
It takes an entire team to capture a championship, but one make-or-break factor in their tile aspirations is Hurts. As the quarterback and primary leader in the locker room, a lot falls on his shoulders. At the end of the day, the Eagles will only make it as far as he can take them. Luckily for them, there are few players in the league with more confidence in themselves than him.

Chiefs Receive Good News on Rashee Rice on Monday
Chiefs Receive Good News on Rashee Rice on Monday originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Led by quarterback Patrick Mahomes and head coach Andy Reid, the Kansas City Chiefs are looking to get back to the Super Bowl for the fourth straight season. Kansas City went on an incredible run in 2024, defeating the Houston Texans and the Buffalo Bills in the postseason before losing to the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl. Despite their sucess, the Chiefs missed the contribution of wide receiver Rashee Rice. The talented receiver suffered a season-ending knee injury, playing four games in his second season in the league. Last week, Rice suffered a groin injury that caused him to miss a couple of days of practice. On Monday, Rice made his return. While the extent of the groin injury has yet to be reported, the presence of Rice is a great sign for Reid and the coaching staff. Rice proved to be one of the best players on the offensive side of the ball for Kansas City last season in the limited time he was available. This year, he'll be playing alongside one of the most talented units the Chiefs have fielded in years with receivers Marquise "Hollywood" Brown and Xavier Worthy. But how much Rice will be able to be on the field this season is very much in doubt. Last month, he pleaded guilty to two third-degree felonies for his role in a high-speed car crash on a Dallas highway in March 2024, and he was sentenced to five years of probation and 30 days in jail. The NFL is widely expected to suspend Rice for multiple games at some point this year. This story was originally reported by Athlon Sports on Aug 11, 2025, where it first appeared.

3-time Super Bowl champ admits he wasn't focused last season
Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has earned four All-Pro selections and 10 Pro Bowl nods, leading to several media opportunities such as commercials and even a television hosting gig. However, Kelce said those side jobs may have led to him not being as focused as he should have been last season. Speaking to GQ's Sean Manning in a recent interview published Tuesday that touches on various topics from his relationship with Taylor Swift to his storied career that has included three Super Bowl wins, Kelce said he is trying to lock in more than he had in the past two seasons, which he said may have impacted his play. 'I think it might have slipped a little bit because I did have a little bit more focus in trying to set myself up,' Kelce told Manning. 'Opportunities came up where I was excited to venture into a new world of acting and being an entertainer. I don't say this as 'I shouldn't have done it.' I'm just saying that my work ethic is such that I have so much pride in how I do things that I never want the product to tail off, and I feel like these past two years haven't been to my standard. I just have such a motivation to show up this year for my guys.' Last season, Kelce's 823 receiving yards were his lowest since 2015, when he finished with 875 receiving yards. He also had 97 catches and three receiving touchdowns. Kelce and the Chiefs are trying to rebound from their 40-22 Super Bowl LIX loss to the Eagles, where Kelce was held to four catches for 39 yards. [Join or create a Yahoo Fantasy Football league for the 2025 NFL season] Sanders suffered the injury during warmups, according to ESPN, and will undergo an MRI to determine the severity. The team decided to hold Sanders out for the remainder of the session as the teams worked on 7-on-7 and 11-on-11 drills. He stayed on the field for the rest of practice watching the Browns go through drills with the Eagles. With Sanders out, Kenny Pickett led the first team and rookie Dillon Gabriel headed up the second team during 7-on-7 drills. Joe Flacco worked with the starters in 11-on-11 drills, while Gabriel saw most of his action with the second team. The Browns have seen three of their quarterbacks deal with injuries throughout training camp. Pickett missed three practices with a hamstring injury before returning to the field in a limited fashion. Gabriel has also dealt with a hamstring issue and is back working in team drills for a second straight day. The Browns have yet to reveal who will start the team's second preseason game on Saturday against the Eagles and which of their quarterbacks will play in the game in Philadelphia. Sanders started the Browns' preseason opener where he completed 14 of 23 passes for 138 yards and 2 touchdowns against the Carolina Panthers.
