PM Modi Likely To Visit US Next Month For UNGA, Hold Talks With Donald Trump: Reports
PM Modi is likely to visit the US in September 2025 for the UNGA and hold talks with Donald Trump over trade issues, multiple media reports claimed.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to visit the United States next month for the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) and hold high-level talks with President Donald Trump, India Today reported, citing sources.
PM Modi and Donald Trump are also expected to address trade issues amid a downturn in bilateral ties, the report claimed.
According to The Indian Express, preparations are underway for the Prime Minister's visit in the last week of September, with the ostensible reason being to attend the UNGA in New York.
However, the key objective is to meet Trump to iron out differences on tariffs and potentially announce a trade deal, it claimed.
(News18 could not independently verify the reports).
Last year, despite an initial speaking slot being booked in his name, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar represented India at the UNGA in place of the Prime Minister.
