Odd moment Nicole Kidman answers questions as her sinister character from Nine Perfect Strangers during interview on The Project
Nicole Kidman shocked host Waleed Aly into stunned silence on Monday's episode of The Project when she suddenly 'moprhed' into her sinister character from the streaming hit Nine Perfect Strangers.
The 57-year-old Oscar winner appeared on the panel show alongside her co-star, fellow Aussie Murray Bartlett, to tease details about season two of the thriller in which she plays the creepy 'wellness' guru Masha.
Fans were first introduced to the sinister 'psychedelic therapist' in 2021 in season one of NPS which saw Masha drugging guests on her retreat without their knowledge.
After Waleed asked Nicole why her character did not end up in 'jail' Nicole appeared to get into her character of Masha.
'Because I'm on the run,' she said in a tone fans familiar with the show would recognise in an instant.
Nicole continued in character as she answered, 'I'm very clever, very smart and I am able to shape shift.'
Uncharacteristically, Waleed appeared lost for words before continuing the interview.
However, Nicole's screen companion, Murray appeared to love his co-stars spontaneous 'performance' and laughed hysterically.
Season two of the streaming hit, which is set to drop on May 22 on Amazon Prime Video, shifts the action from Down Under to the Austrian Alps.
This season Masha is the director and proprietor of Tranquillum House, a resort that offers wellness treatments and is a relaxing vacation destination.
The enigmatic Russian-American figure appears eager to take any measures necessary to enhance her guests' path toward better health.
Nine distinct characters arrived at the resort and began their journey toward healing but some of the guests started to question the unconventional methods of the retreat.
Last month Nicole Kidman stunned fans with a dramatic transformation featured in the Nine Perfect Strangers S2.
Known for her timeless beauty and signature red locks, looks completely unrecognisable in on-set photos.
For her role as Masha, Nicole said goodbye to her trademark strawberry blonde curls and wore a blonde bob wig for an icy look.
With her sleek platinum hairpiece, porcelain complexion and icy, intense gaze, the Hollywood star looks worlds away from her usual glamorous self.
In one promotional photo, she is seen standing in a snow-covered landscape, exuding an air of mystery in a dark green coat, turtleneck sweater and leather gloves.
Another image captures her in an intimate, tense moment, leaning forward with a serious expression as she focuses on a laptop screen.
Fans took to social media to gush over the incredible transformation.
'Best Supporting Actress goes to Nicole Kidman's wig,' one person quipped.
'The devil works hard, but Nicole works harder,' a second added.
In 2023, Hulu renewed Nine Perfect Strangers for another season following a successful debut.

Helmed by Marvelous Mrs. Maisel creators Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino, Étoile had initially been greenlit by the streaming service for two seasons. Debuting in April this year, its story followed the directors of two rival ballet companies as they attempted to save their institutions from collapse. In a last-ditch effort to save these world-renowned institutions, they hatch a plan to switch leading ladies, swapping their most talented stars in an ambitious gambit. Starring Luke Kirby and Nymphomaniac star Charlotte Gainsbourg as the ballet companies' directors, it was released to strong word of mouth and favourable reception from viewers. However, that apparently hasn't been enough to save Étoile, which has reportedly been axed after only one series. Fans reacted to the news with dismay on social media, with many writing of their disappointment that another show had met its end so prematurely. 'Amazon keeps cancelling the few shows on Prime I enjoy. Such shame for Etoile,' wrote marsjfields. 'Amazon Prime u are DEAD to me (My Lady Jane, Wheel of Time and now Etoile?????)' said suvanias. 'As ravishing as it feels radical,' said Joey Moser of The Contending. Contributing a 76% score, audiences were just as full of praise, with the user Madison J describing it as a 'fabulous show with exquisite talent, a great story line and gorgeous scenes.' In April, creator Amy Sherman-Palladino weighed in on whether the second series would come to pass, telling Variety: 'You'll have to ask Amazon.' 'It's pending,' agreed husband and co-creator Daniel. Sadly, it looks as though that second series never will come to pass, unless Amazon, for some reason,n decide to pirouette on their decision to axe. The ballet comedy-drama was the latest collaboration from Gilmore Girls duo Amy and Daniel, who subsequently worked together on The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. A catastrophic storm hits the Neighbours next week, as Karl Kennedy's (Alan Fletcher) life is left hanging in the balance following a run-in with dastardly Darcy Tyler (Mark Raffety). When a blackout hits Ramsay Street, the men face what could be their final reckoning. Alone, Darcy injects Karl with a lethal substance. Will he survive the ordeal? Terese remains firm about her decision to move back to Ramsay Street, as she won't be under the same roof as Chelsea – someone who is relishing in the fact she's got a plush suite at Lassiters. Cara notices Paul taking a fatherly approach to Thomas, who is thoroughly embarrassed, while Nell, JJ and Terese start moving things back to No. 22. Paul tries to talk things over with her, but Krista can see how deluded he is to think that Terese will ever be comfortable with Chelsea – and Leo agrees. Despite their best advice, he makes another shocking move. Cornering Chelsea over breakfast, he offers to invest in her perfume business. He's adamant that it's the best way to get her out of his life, but Terese isn't convinced. More furious than ever before, she presents Paul with an ultimatum: her, or Thomas. Elsewhere, Aaron spots a face from his past – it's Rhett. They're both glad to see one another, and Aaron is surprised to hear that he's newly single. Privately pleased, Aaron fills his mates in on the encounter and says that he's ready to start dating again. And as if by magic, just moments later, he runs into Rhett again and they agree to meet up. Over at the Piano Bar, Taye consoles the pianist, Richard, as he suspects his wife Monica is having an affair. However, when she turns up, Taye realises that he's the other man! Tensions begin to run high, and when Taye manages to grab a private word with his client, Richard overhears that she hired him as an escort. Max gives some sound advice, and boosted by his words, Taye apologies. He explains that he had no idea that Monica was married and advises to use his piano as a way to deal with his marriage woes. It's not long before the couple are playing from the same sheet music once again and the crisis is resolved. Terese remains calm while Paul frets over her ultimatum. After some advice from Leo, he chooses Terese and assures her that he's going to put Chelsea and Thomas firmly in his past. He then takes back his offer of an investment in the perfume venture, and tells Chelsea that she can't be in his life anymore. She's stunned, and brings up the fact that Paul knew he wasn't Thomas' father before anybody else, but doesn't reveal whether she'll divulge the information. Terese, now realising her nightmare is over, offers Paul a chance to start afresh with her on The Street, which he gladly accepts. Across the road, Chelsea lets Cara and Remi know that she's back on good terms with her children and is flying up to the Gold Coast with Thomas that night. After Paul has an emotional goodbye with Thomas, it's a full circle moment as he moves back into his old home with a bright future ahead. Elsewhere, Aaron goes on a croquet date with Rhett and is surprised to be interrupted by his holiday romance Colton, who has come to Erinsborough for an interview to be acting General Manager while Terese is on leave. Colton admits the he deliberately sought out the job in the hopes of seeing Aaron again, thinking fondly of their time on Hamilton Island and hoping to reconnect. There's an undeniable spark – but Aaron realises he's caught in the crossfire between two men. Plus, Holly becomes suspicious of Taye's escorting, and when she confronts him, Max swoops in to cover. Taye thanks Max for saving him, but he's made the tough decision to end his side hustle. Karl is curious about Darcy's business venture with Dr Anthony Halsworth, and Paul agrees that the partnership seems odd to him. A bon voyage party for Leo and Krista kicks off, while Darcy sneaks off to see Tess, in the hope they can start afresh away from Erinsborough. Karl spots them both, and pulls her in for a private word. Tess agrees that Darcy's partnership with Halsworth is odd, and explains the confusion she had with him over their cafe meeting place on the day Amanda died. With his suspicions mounting, Karl vows to get back to her – but Darcy spots them together. He's furious. That night, a wild storm hits Melbourne, and when Susan goes to check on a building issue at Eirini Rising, Darcy pays Karl a visit. A huge argument escalates between the men, and before Karl can alert anyone, Darcy injects him with a mysterious substance that instantly paralyses him. Elsewhere, Sadie is intent on setting up Amanda's beautician trust, which causes a further rift with Byron. She's disappointed that he intends to contest the will, something which Nicolette supports but Jane is firmly against. Hoping that the thought of saving his relationship will be enough for him to stand down, Jane implores her son to consider what eventual outcome he wants from the situation and whether it's worth upsetting Sadie any further. The weather worsens and Andrew's on high alert at work. Everyone is enjoying the party, but Wendy is on a secret mission. She meets with Gretchen, her husband's biological sister who she's managed to track down. The long lost relative explains that her mother died years ago, and their father isn't a very nice man. Wendy hopes that she'd be up for meeting with Andrew, but he declines, believing that he deserves better than being left disappointed. A gloomy Wendy returns home, just as an electrical blackout hits the neighbourhood. Despite that, Leo and Krista's going away sparks ideas of a new beginning upon their return. Paul's happy to hand over the keys to the penthouse to Leo, Krista and Abigail to move in. Karl is in a comatose state and has no idea what has happened. In hospital, Remi explains that he could've had a stroke, as a terrified Holly and Susan wait with bated breath to see if he'll make it through the night. As everyone speculates how it could've happened, Darcy 'finds' the opioids in Karl's bag and leaves everyone with the assumption that his stroke has been caused by an overdose. The floor has fallen from beneath Wendy's feet. Her home life is a struggle, and her work life is a failure. Nicolette gives her some tough love on shift, and tells her to stop complaining or to throw the towel in. The inspires Wendy to create a care package for Karl and Susan, but as she moves into a better head space, Andrew discovers that she's been making enquiries about his family in Sandy Point. 'Incredible' period drama 'just like Downton Abbey' you can now stream
The six-part period drama series from Downton Abbey creator Julian Fellowes, is available to stream on Amazon Prime Video UK now Julian Fellowes seemingly can't stay away from the allure of period dramas. The mind behind Downton Abbey, Gosford Park, The English Game, and The Gilded Age now graces us with another historical series - Belgravia. Belgravia unfurls in the 19th century and takes its initial bow at an event that is engraved in history - the Duchess of Richmond's ball of June 1815, a notable affair just days before the Battle of Waterloo. Centring on the intrigues of the Trenchard and Bellasis families, the show dives headfirst into familiar territory for devotees of period drama, complete with clandestine scandals, high-society relationships, and the intricate dance of class politics. Under John Alexander's direction and sprung from the imagination of Julian Fellowes, Belgravia is crafted from Julian's own 2016 novel of the same name and reunites the production crew that brought Downton Abbey to life, reports the Mirror US. Regarded by many as the undisputed monarch of the period piece, Julian's work inevitably draws comparisons to his giant success with Downtown Abbey. Sharing his thoughts with Town and Country, Julian said: "I think [Belgravia] it's darker than Downton. The servants are working people; they're doing their jobs because those are the jobs that were available. It's not sentimental. It's a sharper world." The limited series initially debuted on ITV in the UK on March 15, 2020, followed by its release in the US on Epix on April 12, 2020. After its release, a sequel, titled Belgravia: The Next Chapter, was promptly commissioned and announced in September 2022, with Helen Edmundson on board as its writer and developer. The show premiered on ITV in January 2024. A blend of new and returning faces comprised the cast of Belgravia, including Alice Eve, Ella Purnell, Tamsin Greig, Richard Goulding, Emily Reid, Tom Wilkinson, Harriet Walter, Philip Glenister, and Tara Fitzgerald. Upon its release, reviews were rather mixed. One said: "Belgravia has all the touchstones of a bodice-ripper. "Great romance and thrilling revenge. And the usual coterie of leaching and sneering in-laws." However, others expressed differing sentiments, such as this critic, who mentioned, "Though billed as a showcase for state-of-the-art costume drama, the six-part bonnet-fest feels more like a one-stop shop for all the worst excesses and boredoms of a genre that has outlived its usefulness." By contrast, another critic observed: "Belgravia is gorgeously appointed, it's romantic enough, it's grounded in the manners of a far more delicate time when everyone stood six-feet apart lest they bump hands." Additionally, a reviewer shared that while Belgravia veered off course, it remained captivating due to its intricate visuals: "Belgravia errs on the wrong side of that divide, but it is so well-appointed that it is never less than beautiful to watch, just like 'Downton'. "For some, the finery will win out over refinement." Audience feedback leaned towards the positive, with one viewer writing: "Incredible show! "Nothing was obvious, it kept the audience in suspense until the very last minute. Loved the complexity of the characters, the authenticity of the costumes and overall atmosphere. Highly recommend!". Another chimed in with: "Wonderful series! ! The storyline is gripping from the very first episode. "There is no woke political ideology that spoils so many films and series these days. Brilliant, authentic acting and casting in the excellent period production. "So many movies and series try and fail to promote female empowerment; however, Belgravia delivers this message superbly."
